You can blame some of this on my addiction.
But not all of it. Last week, something wonderful happened. I won't bore all of you with the details, but Dan and I became National Board Certified Teachers this year. In the state of SC, where we teach, this is accompanied with a stipend. Laws in SC changed, and where in the past, teachers got the entire stipend the year they certified, the state legislature saw it fit to wait until the year after certification. All along, Dan and I assumed that the new law applied to us and we'd see the payment for our hard work next school year.
Have you ever heard about the breakdown of the word assume?
The good news was, the law did not apply to us, because the law was changed after we applied for National Board Certification.
In other words, we would see an increase that was effective July 1, 2010.
And herein is where the funny thing happened. Something that started July 1 meant we are due in the rears from the state of South Carolina. And there was only place we could think to send the money.
We had a couple of thoughts. We could change the resort. We could upgrade to deluxe dining.
Or we could add a couple of days.
We like Port Orleans-Riverside and really can't see ourselves spending a lot of time in the resort, so an upgrade for now was out.
We wouldn't even think of deluxe dining in summer weather. All that food? Yuck.
Two more days. Yep. Two. You'd think it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it was. It took three days to convince my husband. Then, when he was at his weakest point of relenting, I made the phone call.
And changed the reservation.
So now we are at 9 nights (10 days). And of course, a change in dining was needed. We lost Ohana in the midst, but it really did not bother me.
This is what we have now:
Sunday: dinner--Chef Mickey's
Monday: dinner--Kona Cafe
Tuesday: dinner--Cape May Cafe
Wednesday: dinner--Liberty Tree Tavern
Thursday: lunch--Chefs de France (just for soup and salad)
dinner--Captain's Grille
Friday: lunch--50s Prime Time Cafe
dinner--Grand Floridian Cafe
Saturday: dinner--Mama Melrose's (Fantasmic package)
Sunday: lunch--Le Cellier
Monday: brunch--Tusker House

Tuesday: brunch--Crystal Palace
Of the places we are visiting, there are several we have never done before:
Captain's Grille (I have, Dan has not)
50s Prime Time Cafe
Tusker House
Teppan Edo
We are really looking forward to this longer trip and can't wait to possibly spend a whole morning jumping from the POR pool to the POFQ pool!
