We Want to Go to DISNEY, not the Beach! Updated ADRs 5/1

I too am addicted to the online reservations. It is an illness, but I also admit that I have not chosen to give it up. You are absolutely correct: it does no harm!! :goodvibes

Dining is one of my pleasures at WDW!!

You have a really good list of ADRs!! I hear Cape May is so good! Also Kona Cafe for breakfast is one I want to try!

We have enjoyed 50's PTC and Le Cellier. It makes me hungry just thinking about it all!! I am seriously considering Kona for our final day before leaving for home becasue I want to try the Tonga Toast everyone raves about!!

OK, love your reservations! But I'm more than glad to hear about how your plans evolve.

The first step to addiction is knowing you have a problem. But since you don't really WANT to change (the addiction, not the reservations), then enjoy yourself! Now, what is your drug of choice: On-line or talking to the nice 407-939-DINE people (I didn't even have to look that up!)

I have the number on speed dial, but I love online reservations!

I love Disney food! That is MY addiction. The restaurant theming, the ease of meeting characters without lines, the selection of food you can't readily get back home. I think I look forward to the meals, more than the rides and shows. Thankfully, the family likes all that other stuff, so I get to indulge!

In fact, the title of my next trip report is "More photos of my food than of my kids. Is that wrong?". And I don't even have a trip planned yet.

Are we twins separated at birth?

You have some of our favorites on the list: Cape May Cafe, Kona Cafe breakfast (the Macadamia Pineapple pancakes are my FAVORITE thing at the World), Le Cellier and we really liked Mama Melrose. I also really like Teppan Edo, but its been years since we've have been there- I want to go back but there are still so many other places. The food was delicious at 50's Prime Time.

Cape May is my daughter's favorite! I haven't tried Teppan Edo or 50s Prime Time, but I am looking forward to both!

We have never been to LTT, Chefs, Grand Floridian Cafe, or breakfast at Crystal Palace, but I have read lots of raves about the places.

We like all of them a lot. DH loves Liberty Tree, but his favorite day of the year is Thanksgiving, so. . .

Amanda, I'm really loving your list of ADRs right now! It is one great line up!

Thanks!

Gosh, I'm getting hungry right now, thinking about it! Of course, breakfast would help, lol.

The beach really is like one of our homes as well! The kids do love it there.

:welcome: and Thanks for dropping in!

Joining in. We are going to Cape May for dinner too. I love making adr's online too and I too have more adr's than I do dining credits.

Teach me please, how do you make ADR's online? It is too early to make them yet, but I want to be prepared! :)

Oh, wow. You go to the www.disneyworld.com page and then where you can price out your trip, you can click the bubble next to dining and choose your day, time, restaurant. If you choose just day and time, it'll bring up all of the restaurants that have availability then. Then all you have to do is follow the directions to book!

I'm so glad I could help!

You can blame some of this on my addiction.

But not all of it. Last week, something wonderful happened. I won't bore all of you with the details, but Dan and I became National Board Certified Teachers this year. In the state of SC, where we teach, this is accompanied with a stipend. Laws in SC changed, and where in the past, teachers got the entire stipend the year they certified, the state legislature saw it fit to wait until the year after certification. All along, Dan and I assumed that the new law applied to us and we'd see the payment for our hard work next school year.

Have you ever heard about the breakdown of the word assume?

The good news was, the law did not apply to us, because the law was changed after we applied for National Board Certification.

In other words, we would see an increase that was effective July 1, 2010.

And herein is where the funny thing happened. Something that started July 1 meant we are due in the rears from the state of South Carolina. And there was only place we could think to send the money.

We had a couple of thoughts. We could change the resort. We could upgrade to deluxe dining.

Or we could add a couple of days.

We like Port Orleans-Riverside and really can't see ourselves spending a lot of time in the resort, so an upgrade for now was out.

We wouldn't even think of deluxe dining in summer weather. All that food? Yuck.

Two more days. Yep. Two. You'd think it wouldn't be such a big deal, but it was. It took three days to convince my husband. Then, when he was at his weakest point of relenting, I made the phone call.

And changed the reservation.

So now we are at 9 nights (10 days). And of course, a change in dining was needed. We lost Ohana in the midst, but it really did not bother me.

This is what we have now:

Sunday: dinner--Chef Mickey's

Monday: dinner--Kona Cafe

Tuesday: dinner--Cape May Cafe

Wednesday: dinner--Liberty Tree Tavern

Thursday: lunch--Chefs de France (just for soup and salad)
dinner--Captain's Grille

Friday: lunch--50s Prime Time Cafe
dinner--Grand Floridian Cafe

Saturday: dinner--Mama Melrose's (Fantasmic package)

Sunday: lunch--Le Cellier

Monday: brunch--Tusker House
dinner--Teppan Edo

Tuesday: brunch--Crystal Palace

Of the places we are visiting, there are several we have never done before:
Captain's Grille (I have, Dan has not)
50s Prime Time Cafe
Tusker House
Teppan Edo

We are really looking forward to this longer trip and can't wait to possibly spend a whole morning jumping from the POR pool to the POFQ pool!

thanks! I was very happy with them and will re-post the info for you. Our PTR hasn't been all that active so you haven't missed much over there lol

Congrats on the Board certification! I have a few friends who have done that and it is quiet the accomplishment! :thumbsup2

Your ADR line-up looks awesome!!

Thanks a bunch--I think I have the information right, but I want to make sure.

It was 3 years worth of work!

It's been a planning nightmare of a week. On Monday, we looked at our budget and decided we could afford an upgrade. On Tuesday, we added the Deluxe Dining Plan. I proceeded to change reservations. I won't post them here--90% of them are all cancelled. I started thinking of all of the extra calories and decided the DxDP just wasn't worth it. Which led to my dream resort. . .

The Beach Club Resort.

We are now staying in a Garden View Room at the Beach Club Resort. The kids are excited about Stormalong Bay. I'm excited about more room.

But, of course, we had dining changes 2.0 to deal with:

Sunday: dinner Kona Cafe

Monday: breakfast Crystal Palace

Tuesday: dinner Cape May

Wednesday: late breakfast Cape May

Thursday: lunch Chefs de France

Friday: dinner Liberty Tree Tavern

Saturday: dinner Teppan Edo

Sunday: lunch Le Cellier

Monday: dinner Captain's Grill

Tuesday: lunch Grand Floridian Cafe

I'm thinking of adding in Tea with the girls one day, but I'm not certain.

WOO-HOO!!! Congrats on the Board Certification and for your decision to change your resort! You will love, love, love the Beach Club and I see you have already made it over to the FAQ thread, so I look forward to seeing you over there.

It made me chuckle thinking about your PTR title- now you can tell the kids they are getting BOTH!!!

The dining lineup looks fantastic for your stay. But will they stick??? We loved the meals at Cape May and Captain's Grille and they are soooooo convenient. As are the EPCOT restaurants.

Not sure if you are planning on using your car to get around, or will mostly rely on Disney Transportation, but the best way to get directly to MK is by bus, because they drop off right at the entrance, not the TTC.

Look forward to hearing more exciting details of your trip.

I can't wait to hear about the kids playing at Stormalong Bay. My BFF stayed there once with her 9 YO neice and she LOVED it!

:goodvibes great update. I don't know how many times I have already changed my ADRs, I find it fun changing ADRs. Your ADRs look great.
