I love Raglan Road. I like sitting at the bar and ordering lots of little dishes of stuff, and beer. But I haven't ever stayed past 9 because I was running out to the Adventurers Club.

I do love the scallop forest appetizer!

nice job getting Boddingtons! We went to a place near us that is similar to Raglan Rd the other day to get our RR fix and I partook in a few Boddingtons! :)

I still can't convince DH to try the Dalkey Duo...something about a coronary or heart disease or something?? Silly man!

Your talk about Scotch made me channel my inner Ron Burgundy, "I like Scotch, Scotch, Scotch, Scotch. It goes down, down into my belly!":rotfl:

Well, now that they've killed the AC you can stay for the music - it's a big draw for us.

It's funny that you mentioned the scallop forest because we talked about ordering that, but I'd never really heard anyone talk about it and we were a little leery of how they might taste in a pub environment.

Next time.

And I just have to say ... PI was so depressing when we were there and we shouted a few Kunglalooshes at the dark windows of the AC every time we passed by. Still makes me sad to think that Disney was so willing to scrap something so many people enjoyed so much.

We loves us some Boddingtons! We can even buy it here in Stinktown ... can you believe that!?

Vacation is for health-crisis inducing foods if you ask me ... it's not going to kill him if he tries it once. Tell him to "man up!"

Love the Ron Burgundy comment. :rotfl2:

My brother is taking my nephew to Disney in a couple of weeks (first trip) and they are staying with his best friend...he wanted to thank him with something nice and treating him to V&A's was out of the question seeing as HE WORKS THERE!!! Anyway... he asked me for my advice (something he does very rarely seeing as he's the oldest and I'm not... (I'm the baby...)) So I suggested RR and Jiko cause I told him Bendy suggested it...

So... ya better be right!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

(Don't worry the beer flights will get him...)

Hey, I'm coming out of lurkerdom (a word, not a word, who cares?) to read all about your dining adventures. I love, love, loved your last food porn thread, so I'm subbing this for sure! And because of your posts on RR, we are trying it for sure next year. :thumbsup2

You are SO back!

The only thing missing here is GRIMACE!

Grimace2.jpg

That graphic is screaming for a personalized text box

I know it's hard on you but MAN it's great for the home-viewers :surfweb:

I miss Grimace! That should be a bumper sticker... with a hidden Mickey somehow worked in. :scratchin

We LOVED Raglan Road too. I had the Shepherd's Pie and dh got the Guinness Stew. Yum yum yum!!! We thought it was great and will definitely go back in the future. Lucky you got that gift certificate...I got in too late!

Mmmmmm... Raglan Road!

Did you know that along with being the name of a fabulous snausage appetizer (my favorite!), Dalkey is the name of one of the many little villages that makes up greater Dublin? And further, that Bono lives there? (And for those of you who've never heard it said out loud and may have wondered, it's pronounced "dah-key", the "l" is silent.)

That is all. Carry on.

Wow, bonus liquor! That was better than getting "dreamed" in the parks! I don't think I've ever had whisky that didn't taste like burning, all TN and KY bourbon burns like fire. We loved, loved RR, too. (And if I find time to get to the picture thing you can read all about it!)

I showed DH the picture of the bangers and mashed and he said, "Yeah, we have to eat there!":thumbsup2 So we're on for April! Is the dancer there every night? I know my daughter would love that, so I'm going to shoot for a later reservation so we can catch the band. Good thing we're staying at SSR, after all the beer-y goodness we won't have far to go! Thanks for the great review!:goodvibes

Well, I'm flattered that you'd take my advice and I hope he doesn't end up disappointed, althought I don't think he will. :goodvibes

BTW, how's your dad doing?

Allow me to welcome you into the bright light of posterdom!
Thanks so much for reading - I'm happy to know you're enjoying our food stories. And I hope you enjoy RR when you try it - be sure to let us know what you think!

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: OMG!!! That is awesome! I wonder if Jay could photoshop that and put my mom in there ... I'm sure he could.

And for you Mel, a brief Grimace update: she's actually been in a pretty good mood lately (no doubt because she's had lots of gambling to keep her occupied). She and Jon were in Vegas in August and now Jay's aunt wants her to come back in April for a slot tournament. :lmao: When I told her that Jay and I are taking a Disney cruise next October she sounded like she wanted to come ... :scared1: I talked her out of it ... if she wasn't happy at WDW she'd be miserable on a ship. And I don't think she'd understand why so many strangers would refer to her as Grimace every time they spotted her wandering around the Magic. :rotfl2:

Thanks for reading!

We totally lucked into the GC ... I think I nabbed it around lunchtime on a day where the firewalls were down at work and I saw a post about it here on the DIS.

Thanks for reading!

Hey there Litebrite! We always wondered what Dalkey represented, so thanks for edumacating us. No idea that the "l" was silent ... we've been mispronouncing for as long as we've been ordering it. D'OH! :headache:

 I never thought about bonus liquor being better than a dream but for us that's probably true. You need to try some scotch, it can still burn but less so ... and not at all when paired with certain yummy foods.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Raglan Road ... wasn't that your husband's birthday? Were they able to do anything special for him?

I showed DH the picture of the bangers and mashed and he said, "Yeah, we have to eat there!":thumbsup2 So we're on for April! Is the dancer there every night? Hey Lori, how ya doing? I hope you enjoy RR when you dine there in April - be sure to come back to let us know how it goes. The dancer is supposed to be there every night that the band plays, but she doesn't come out a whole lot. I think in two hours we saw her two or three times. Your best bet is to get there as close to nine as possible and then you'll be likely to see her at least twice.

:worship: :worship: Another entertaining installment, sistah. The sangria looked good to me--a little clear, but good nonetheless. Too bad you didn't have a little bottle of schnapps in your purse to help with the potency...:rotfl: :rotfl:

Keep 'em coming, Bendy!:thumbsup2

Sounds like a really good meal! That bread pudding looks to die for. We're definitely going to give this place a try on a future visit to WDW. :thumbsup2

Give Raglan Road a try if you have the chance - good food, good music, and good times!

So glad to read your review; this is our first night's reservation on our first trip ever to WDW!

Well, I'm flattered that you'd take my advice and I hope he doesn't end up disappointed, althought I don't think he will. :goodvibes

BTW, how's your dad doing?

Bro loves Irish anything... I'm sure he'll be fine... ;)

Dad didn't to so well...it's going very slow... on Wednesday it will be 2 weeks in ICU... They hope to move him later this week. Prognosis is guarded...

Hey Brenda, while you were taking shelter at Pooh's, we were dining at WPE in the marketplace & taking shelter under the awning while scoffing yummy pizza with friends. Too bad I missed overhearing your silly jokes! Since you & Jay were also staying at the Grandstand section of SSR & we checked in the same day, we were bound to run into each other sooner or later...glad we did! :goodvibes

I love bread pudding, but I've never had Raglan Road's, now I know it's a must do one of these days! Great reviews as always! :thumbsup2
