We made it Disney without our kids! A June/July Trip Report!-COMPLETED!

I haven't tried the twittering thing yet either. As it is the family is complaining I spend far too much time on the computer.

Oh it's addicting...much like this website! And you can even do it from your cell phone, which makes it so much worse! I find myself laying in bed at all hours of the night on Twitter, especially if I can't sleep! I'm hopping over to see your report...praying for some pictures!

I will look into it today perhaps!!! I don't have lots of friends on twitter....but I do have Facebook and spent my time facebook stalking :rotfl:

It is beautiful here..expensive though! A lot of people see where I'm from..and think to themselves, wow why do i recognize that town? and it always turns out it has to do with the military, because of the navy base! They almost closed the base a few years back, but we fought it because it's so important to the economy here!

It's weird you haven't gotten anything from Disney...did you make sure your payment went through? Not to worry you or anything. It's probably just a delay..you know how disney works!

I don't really have many people on Twitter either...just stalk a few famous ones! haha, I'm a loser. That's good they kept that base open. They were moved up to Maine a few years back, probably during that time, and then transferred back down there again! We went to the aquarium there and shopping to all these little stores. So much fun!

The payment sure was taking out of my checking account! And I recieved confirmations from Disney right away...but still nothing in the mail...and that was over two weeks ago!

Holy goodness people! I recieved an email this morning from Disney shopping, saying that you can now buy Park merchandise ONLINE! I could not be more excited and I'm now off to shop :cool1::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2:

ohhh where is that! are there good discounts?!

No discounts right now, but it just got up and running yesterday! It's on the regular Disney shopping site...I think at the top of Disney.com there is a shop link! BTW, tomorrow will be three weeks...still nothing from Disney :confused3

So I called Disney today to find out what the deal was with not recieving anything in the mail for our trip! We paid off our trip 3 1/2 weeks ago, and I recieved all my email confirmations, but nothing in the mail. I was starting to get worried:confused3 I called today, to confirm that everything was okay, and the CM told me that our paperwork was shipped out yesterday and to give it 7-10 business days to get here! Well, I know nothing from Disney ever takes that long...so it should be here in a few days :cool1: He also told me that, they don't even process everything until 1. The trip is paid in full and 2. You reach the 45 day mark (which is what I didn't know). My 45 days was over the weekend I believe, so now the wait continues!

We are off to soccer practice tonight for DD! I had a great day at the gym this morning, came home and cut the grass! I've been working out for a few months now, and amazingly, cutting the grass doesn't take nearly the toll it did last summer!!!

So, yesterday I got a wonderful item in the mail...My Disney's Magical Express tags! I was excited...but...is there more stuff coming? Or is this what I was sooooo excited about?

Did you get the yellow stickers, the coupon book with coupons for your magic express bus ride and the plastic luggage tags?

I got the yellow stickers, and some sort of coupon book, not plastic luggage tags though!

Hmm. Mine all came together but they were mailed to my TA first and then she sent them to me. You did get the important stuff though!

Okay, so I won't be getting anything regarding our hotel or tickets or anything like that? Other than what I got in my email? Sorry I'm so confused...I've never stayed on property before...so I've always had my tickets and stuff before I left!

It's so irritating when I'm typing up an update and I lose it :headache:

I don't really have a very important update...but I have done a few things! I have started a trip binder...with all my important info in it! Flight info, resort, magical express, ADR's, Itinerary, my birthday certificate...but I haven't decorated it yet, so no pictures!

Awhile back I had purchased a Coach Hipster to wear in the parks! Who knows if that will actually happen! I'm sure I'll end up carrying my stuff in my back pocket, but oh well! At least I'll take it to nice dinners and stuff! Then I just recieved my new bag in the mail today! I bought the Vera Bradely Miller Bag for a carry on! I purchased a large Coach diaper bag awhile back, and thought about using that for a carry on...then realized I'd need something to pack my DS's stuff into while we are gone! Here they both are!

We had a great Memorial Day weekend! We grilled out a lot, went to a baseball game, the parade...all sorts of good stuff!

So, a few posts back I was slightly confused as to what I'd be getting in the mail from Disney for our vacation. I had recieved an envelope from Disney's Magical Express, but nothing regarding any of our other reservations! FINALLY something came from Disney Vacations! Our room confirmation, the luggage tags, all the coupons for the things included in our stay! I was sooooo happy! And it came on the same day as the new vacation planning DVD I had ordered a few days prior! Yippee! The trip feels so real now! Today I started working on a packing list! Talk about stress...I wish there was a smiley pulling out it's hair! We are only there for 3 nights...so I don't want to over pack at all. We are hoping we can get all of our stuff into one suitcase! Suggestions on what to pack would be GREATLY appreciated! If anyone is even still reading this :sad2:

We were there for three nights too. It was April and it still got cool at night so I knew I needed hot weather clothes for the day and then we changed into cooler weather clothes for dinner. I ended up taking 8 outfits for the three nights. Well I was wearing one so I really only took seven plus a bathing suit, a cover up and pajamas and of course a wind breaker and rain ponchos.

I did narrow it down to three pairs of shoes. I was proud of myself for that.

Dh had three pairs of shorts, two bathing suits that could double as shorts, a pair of long pants that zipped off to become shorts if needed, three nicer lightweight button down short sleeve shorts (to wear out for dinners), two long sleeve t-shirts (which he never wore because he used his windbreaker instead), a wind breakers, a long sleeve pool coverup (he hates the sun), a rain poncho, pajamas, four quick-dry t-shirts and one cotton mickey t-shirt (because where else are you going to wear it?). He packed his crocs and his running shoes.

I know it seems like alot but the clothes themselves were thin and I had tons of room in suitcase. I tend to overpack but in my defense I wore everything I took. I was hot and sweaty by the afternoon and wouldn't have wanted to put those clothes back on so I needed that evening change of clothes.

I found it best to pack by "outfits" and ensured that one of my "outfits" was neutral in case I had to mix and match. Other people like to mix and match so really it's up to you. You will have hotter weather than I did but then again it gets cool in the buildings and restaurants so you'll need a light sweater.

Hope that helps.

That helps a lot! And is exactly along the lines I was thinking! I knew you had only gone for a few days, and was hoping you would throw in some input! I was thinking pretty much 2 outfits per day, plus whatever I wear down there! Something cool and comfy for day time and then something a tad bit dressier for the evenings and our fancier ADR's! It's getting so close, I feel so unprepared because there isn't a lot to do when traveling without children!

So today I made a quick trip to the store to pick up a few things that I knew I could pack right now! I got...travel size toothpaste, travel size shampoo and conditioner, travel size hair spray, disposable razors for DH and myself, travel size shaving cream for DH, sunscreen, a body puff...and I think that's it!

Then I threw in all the things we already had at home...

At this point, for this little bag I'm only missing: DH deodorant, DH body wash and DH toothbrush...things he has with him in Iraq! They have body wash over there that the sell at the BX that he LOVES...so he always brings a bunch home with him! Am I missing anything???
