We love rack rate! Aug 1-17 More NEW pics 9/1!

We moved to the Poly. We checked in about 10 AM, but our room was not ready. Our concierge level room!!! Seems we hit the upgrade jackpot!! This room is incredible. We have a view of the castle. It's a shame we're only here 2 nights!!

I am glad you got pixie dusted! I hope you enjoyed it. I know we did when we got dusted last year. I wonder who the magical CM could be? ;)

I'm glad you seem to be perking back up today!

Pics from yesterday's fishing excursion! Our guide was Carrie. She was terrific! DS caught about 12 fish in the 2 hours we were on the boat. DH caught about 6, I caught about 3. A successful outing, I think! The bird comes to hang out on some of the excursion boats. He sat and watched us for awhile, but then he went off to do other bird things.

Nice fish. Why is it that you and DS are not holding your own?

It was SO nice to be upgraded! BUT the CM you are thinking of denies any involvement and I tend to believe him. He doesn't know my last name or my home phone so he didn't have access to our ressie! :rotfl2:

Tactile defensive. ;) I don't hold fish. I didn't bait my own hook or cast my own line, either. I wasn't really even planning to GO fishing. I was thinking more of going to the spa. But since I missed the whole day Monday I decided to go on the fishing thing. It was fun!

Tonight was dinner at Crystal Palace (no pics, it's a buffet, standard buffet food).

We went on some rides, ate dinner, met up with Janet and Riley so the boys could go on rides together. The crowds were definitely better than they have been, but still some significant lines. We were going to get FPs for Space but they were all gone when we went over about 8 PM. We ended up going on Small World, HM, Snow White, Pooh, and Dumbo. The boys went on the Barnstormer 5 times in a row and only had to get off the ride once. That was right as Wishes was starting. They had a blast! :thumbsup2

MGM tomorrow, and the big DDA dinner at Cape May! :goodvibes

It is so fun to read your report right along with your vacation! I can't imagine changing resorts so often, but I imagine it would be easier to do with a family of 3 instead of a family of 5! LOL

All of your food looks fantastic.......I bet you are still full from all of it!

I look forward to the rest of your trip!

Here are some pics of the interior of our studio at AKV. When the couch is pulled out there is a severe shortage of space to put those 2 coffee table things plus all of the cushions. The bedding pack in the armoire is a blanket and pillow for the pull-out, so there is some space in there. The green thing in the corner is just a little bench - we have the carry-ons on top of it. We took these pics before we called down to have the luggage delivered! :rotfl2:

Here is the DDA gang after dinner at Cape May. The only one missing is DH, because he decided to go to the restroom as were were assembling for the pic.
Debbie brought Mardi Gras beads for all of the kids. :)
Dinner was very good. It was our first time at Cape May and we thought it was very nice!

Yesterday we went to MGM for rope drop. We got FPs for RnRC, then we rode ToT. DS decided to give it a try - he said he liked it OK this time.

We walked over to get a FP for Toy Story as soon as we were eligible and our return time was 4:10 PM (at 9:45 in the morning). We rode RnRC. We tried to do the Jedi thing, but it was cancelle3d because it was sprinkling. We went to Pizza Planet for an early lunch, and it POURED while we were in there. After that we just sort of gave up and came back to AKV.

Dinner was at Cape May, then we went to Epcot for EMH with Janet & her boys.

Today we went to AK for rope drop. We got our FPs for Everest, then we walked along both animal trails. The gorillas were fabulous, as always. I think DH got some good pics of them. We saw a family win a $500 shopping spree from the Dream Squad, so that was kind of fun. We all agree that there seem to be fewer Dream Squad members this year. We typically see maybe one pair of them on their way to award a prize each day. It looks like maybe one group per park per day are winning dream Fast Passes and that's about it. We have seen a pitiful smattering of dream ears and even fewer dream pin lanyards.

We rode Everest, then the rain started up AGAIN. We came back to AKV for a nap. We got up in time for 3 PM pin trading. DH and DS went to the arcade from there, and I went to the culinary tour at Jiko.

The tour is just a little talk about Jiko's decor, then an overview of the menu by a chef. We got to sample some little breads and dips. From there we went over to Boma for a tour of the buffet offerings, and a sample of one of the soups and a zebra dome. :)

Tonight is dinner at Boma and then we're headed to MGM for Fantasmic.

Don't let that innocent act fool ya', CM's know way more than they ever let on. ;) But, then again, it could have been someone else's doing. Whoever did it, they totally rock for giving you a bit more Birthday pixie dust. :thumbsup2

Ooooh love Boma! Did you try the Mulligatawny Soup? That is my favorite!

That wasn't a choice last night. They had butternut squash (my favorite), chicken corn porridge (also very good), crab soup (which I expected to like, but didn't like AT ALL), and 2 others I can't remember.

Today is our last park day. :sad1: We're going to breakfast at Crystal Palace, then spending the morning at MK. Not sure about tonight.

Ack, it's over already! I can't believe I'm saying that almost 17 days later, but its seemed to go fast. Sounds like some really nice days, sans the rain, lately. Love the DDA pic! I'm glad you all had a great time.

I cannot believe your trip is almost over, Elizabeth! That time flew by for me, but probably not as fast as it went for you three.

I love the DDA group shot at Cape May. Just wish your DH had been in the picture too.

Thnaks for AKV pictures, Love that bathroom!!!

Disney Design Addicts. Similar thread to the GAGWTA gang, but it moves much faster. It is on the Creative DISign board. :) You should stop in over there! We are a very friendly bunch! :goodvibes I don't design anything, and I think many of the original designers have gotten burned out or overwhelmed and moved on to new things, but we do have an awesome chat thread! Once in awhile someone will even post a design! :rotfl2:

Please excuse my DD's ham of a pose. She's not camera shy, is she.

I hope you are enjoying your last day, Elizabeth.

:goodvibes I cant believe it is almost over. I loved the reports and pix so much. We arent going this year and they have helped me not to so sad about it.
