Hi, Robyn! :)

Isn't she! I can't wait to meet you Elizabeth :yay:

:wizard: for your mom's Dr. visit today!

We can't wait to meet you and the boys, either!!

Thanks for the good wishes! Mom's appointment is at 3 PM today. Not quite sure what the oncologist has planned for this visit. I am going to try to call while she is talking to him so I can ask questions and get clarification on what comes next.

You sound like me with the shoes!! I just ordered some new Crocs for my DD....now I need to see if the boys still fit them!

Back from the mall!

DS decided on blue Crocs in the next size up since they didn't have any tan ones. We also found another pair of shorts at Nordstrom.

Not sure what DH is going to do about shoes. He has the brand new sneakers, 2 pairs of Crocs, and some very nice Ecco sandals. He is the first to admit the sandals are comfy, but they are black. He prefers brown. They were on clearance, and that was the only color left. I think he has some brown leather sandals. Those should be fine if he doesn't try to wear them for an entire day.

I am wearing my new Clark sandals to get them broken in. I just have to remember to put them away when I take them off, because the cat likes to chew things. She has chewed the strap of my purse into oblivion, and all of my Crocs have little teeth marks in them. Nobody else has cats that chew. Seems to be a problem specific to MY cats. It's always something.

Mom saw her oncologist yesterday and they have a treatment plan in place. She has to go for a heart scan Monday, they will have to put in a port for the chemo infusions, and if all goes as planned she will have her first treatment next week. She will start with infusions every two weeks, then they will switch drugs and she will have weekly infusions. Twenty weeks in all. Followed by radiation. :sad2:

I am sad that I can't go up for her first infusion, but that just wasn't practical. We still don't even know what day they are going to do it. So for now we just wait and hope for the best. :rolleyes1

Three weeks from RIGHT NOW we will be on the plane.

I wonder what I have forgotten to do?

I will call tomorrow for our resort photo session. I still need to pre-pay the PhotoPass CD. I need to go get travelers checks, but I will wait until a couple of days before we leave to do that. Never did get my tip envelopes done last weekend, so I need to do that. I bought a cable to lock up my laptop but I can't remember the default combination for it. Need to find the instructions for that. Then I need to personalize the combination and REMEMBER what I set it to!

I need another pedicure. The problem is I don't know if I want another one now, followed by one at SSR, or if I should just wait and get one here right before we leave so it will last the whole trip. Hmm.

I returned the sandals that DH said were too tight. I think he is going to just have to work with his existing shoe inventory.

And in between all of this I can worry about my mom starting chemo and feel guilty for not being there.

Finally remembered to read this Elizabeth, and the starting post is wonderful! We can't wait to see you all again. Maybe Nicholas and DS can hang out for awhile.

Hi, Tammi! :) We are looking forward to seeing you and the kids again, and finally getting to meet YourBob!
I am sure DS would love to hang out with Nicholas! We'll have to look at our park days and see when they match up. Or we can try to organize some DVC pool time for the kids. :thumbsup2

I called today and booked our resort photo session. :)

Now to just get all of this other stuff done. :rolleyes1 Maybe I'll do the tip envelopes now. That's way more fun than vacuuming cat fur off the furniture.

I made my tip envelopes, but only half of them have money in them because I ran out of small bills. Guess I need to go to the bank!

I went online and ordered our PhotoPass CD and printed off the confirmation to take to the resort photo session.

I finally remembered to print off our Poly resort confirmation and add it to the stack of other resort ressies. That was no easy task since our computer has decided to default to some phantom printer and has to be manually forced back to the correct printer. I have NO CLUE how that happened, but it started the other day. :headache:

Has it really been 30 days since I started this PTR? Hmm. Where does the time go?

I just cleaned out DS's sock drawer. I bought him new socks the other day. Today I washed them and they are too big. :headache: So I had to sort through his other socks and pull out the "good" ones. Can't put them in his suitcase because his is stuffed inside one of the others, and I am not ready to head down that path yet. I put them in a Nordstrom bag and stuck it to one side. If he needs socks between now and the trip he can wear old ones. Besides, he is supposed to be breaking in his sandals and his Croclings - no socks!

:dance3: This is a great thread!! I can't believe I missed the link on your posts to the GAGWTA thread. What is wrong with me?

I think your trip sounds divine. What a great mix of locations to stay! It will feel like 4 separate vacations. I need you to plan our next vacation. However, we are a good bit older and do better takes things a bit slower. We did do a split stay this May. . . WL for 3 nights, BW 2BR for 6 nights. I did not mind moving all. I thought I would but it truly was like having a second vacation because everything was different. We even went to different parks depending on where we were. MK is so easy by bus from WL (5 minute ride) and the walk to EPCOT or boat to the studios so easy from BW. Gotta love that International gateway entrance to EPCOT. It was designed for people like me, I think,

We once took an offsite trip-21 days in a 4 BR 3 bath pool home, May 2002. Longer trips are so relaxing. Have not been for more than 10 days straight since then but I tell you it was wonderful.

Staying onsite for that long will be wonderful.

Good luck to your mom tomorrow for her muga. Please post how she does.

Sabrina 90744 earlier on this thread mentioned her mom in treatment. Sabrina, please come and visit us on the GAGWTA Breast Cancer survivor thread. We love having family members post. You caregivers ROCK!!!!:dance3:

Glad I joined your thread. I am subscribing.

Welcome, Laurie! :goodvibes

We stayed at WL for 9 nights last summer. We liked it, but we missed being at AKL. DH is already grumbling about all the resort switching, but hopefully they will all be smooth transitions!
We will have to try either BCV or BWV one of these days. It would be so nice to walk to Epcot & MGM! Of course maybe walking in August wouldn't be so pleasant. :scared: We had ressies for BC and WL this time but I ended up cancelling both of those! I think DS was bummed - he wanted to go back to WL. So I guess maybe we'll have to take a stab at VWL at some point, too! :rotfl2: I think we need more points!

I definitely agree about the heat being an issue in walking to EPCOT and the Studios. It was pretty darn hot this past May.

Last year in late July early August we did ok, but only because it rained alot. That drove the guests away and the temps down. Needless to say we are big poncho people, and we also discovered these great Columbia fishing shirts that are vented and also dry quickly. DH and I both wear them (mine are prettier colors LOL).

I am wondering how it will be the first week in October for our RFTC/Food & Wine/30th wedding anniversary trip. It will be hot I am sure, I am hoping not miserably so.

Laurie - We went mid-October in 2005 and it was hot. Not brutal hot, but hot.

DS was kind enough to add another item to my pre-trip "to do" list today. We were walking in to Sam's and his bottom retainer nearly shot clean out of his mouth when he was talking. Despite the orthodontist telling him NOT to use his tongue to click it in and out that is obviously what he has been doing. Now it is REALLY loose. :headache: He wasn't supposed to go back until 8/21 but I am going to call and see if they can adjust his retainers again before we leave.

We cancelled our voice mail on our land line because it seems like NOBODY ever calls us on that number. We decided to buy a phone with a built-in answering machine, so I guess DH gets to try to figure that out. Just in case somebody important decides to call someday! Our old phone is really hard to hear on, and if the microwave is on all you hear is static, so it was time for a new phone anyway!

We had problems with static from the microwave too. It helped when we relocated the phone base.

We have three phone bases and three phones. At least one is always MIA. I try to locate them daily becuase after the charge is down, the locater does not work and it is impossible to find the errant phone. We live in disorder, especially the teens. I just don't have the energy or the inclination to make a federal case of keeping the rooms clean. So if their rooms are atrocious, the lady who cleans for me on Friday does not enter the disaster areas (which is somewhat dangerous even on a "good" day).

I always am a bit discourged when I go to someone's home that is immaculate. Then I just tell myself, they must be tired and stressed out from having everyone clean up before my arrival. Helps me keep everything in perspective.

Good thoughts for your mom today.

She will definitely be on my mind this week.

Laurie

PS. We joined the owners locker thing this year, and will use the stuff we put in it back in May for our next trip. I can't wait to fly with only one bag for a change this time. I hate to add another thing to add to your todo list but have you looked into that?

You are flying down?

DS is going to the orthodontist Thursday, so hopefully that will fix his floppy retainer problem!

Our new phones are charged (we bought the one with 3 handsets) and I set the time and date. I tried to set the ringtone but there is something strange about the way it rings on the "main" phone so I need to mess with it some more. My house couldn't be immaculate if it tried. I would LOVE to have a housekeeper, but then I figure if we can stand to live in disarray we'll have more money for Disney! :rotfl2:

I haven't really thought too much about Owners Locker. This year we all still get 2 free checked bags. Next year we'll only be going for 8 or 9 nights so we won't need quite as much luggage. Several of our friends are getting Owners Locker, but I am just not there yet!

Thanks for the good thoughts for Mom! I told her she can call me after her MUGA, but she said she won't know anything until Wednesday. I will definitely check in with her tomorrow after she has her port put in. :)

I finally managed to get the new phone working properly, so that's one more thing to cross off!

Mom's MUGA went fine, but of course she won't have the results until tomorrow. Today she has her port put in at 9 AM.

17 days until we leave!
Time is really starting to drag. Other than packing there isn't anything left to do. DS will need a haircut, but I want to wait awhile because his hair grows so fast. If I get it cut now by the time we leave it will be shaggy again.

I sort of have that nagging feeling that I have forgotten something. I always get that feeling. Like I was waiting until closer to the trip to do something, then I forgot what it was. Hmm. Maybe I should look back over my notes!
