We love Donald Duck, oh yes we do! - Link to the PTR - COMPLETE

Awesome room! :thumbsup2 And, as usual, I'm loving the pictures! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Not a clue..but your description in a later post clued me in.

"Oooftah, dat dere's some crazy accent ya got doncha know!" Ummm....yeah....right back at you there partner.

.

I just dropped in to catch up on this thread and read this and about died laughing:lmao: My son married a gal that was born in Canada and when all her Canadian relatives gather, they talk just like this and I can't understand a word they say! :rotfl2: I'm sure someone is going to point out to me that Canadians and Minnesotans (sp?) do NOT sound alike but hey, I'm an Okie. Anyone north of Kansas sounds funny to us:rotfl2:

P.S. I really get a kick out of DDIL - she was born in Canada so she has a little of that accent and now lives in the deep South. Talk about a mixed accent!:rotfl2:

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack. I'm leaving now.

Awww, what a lovely view! And gret photos of cheeky Henry!!

Thank you! I love the pic of him chowing on the fruit for some reason. :goodvibes

what a fantastic view!!

It really was! We loved it!

What a score on the room! :woohoo::woohoo: I made a note of room 1301 in case I ever stay there! So glad the Skinny Cows didn't get lost and were treated with appropriate importance by the CM!

Sorry you weren't wowed by WPE. I still haven't eaten there... maybe next time.

Yes, definetly request that room! My pictures sadly really don't even do the view justice. I have a few more pics too, but I just couldn't capture the feeling. Joe mentioned to me he took video off the balcony, so I'll try to dig that up too.

I have loved WPE every time, except this one. I think it was the cheese on the melt...being I'm kinda picky with cheese-it was just too much for me...everyone raves about them on the Food Pictures thread though, I'm think I'M the weird one!

Wow what a great room!! That view is awesome!!:thumbsup2

It was a great room, very fresh and clean-it felt brighter than our 1 bedroom, and the view just topped it all off!

Holy cow! You guys scored on that view!! And to be that close to DTD, how AWESOME! And to have the bellman excited for you... Even better!

I've never made it to WPE, looks VERY good!

I really loved the quick walk to DTD, it was less time to walk to DTD than the Carriage House within SSR even.

WPE is yummy and there are a ton of options.

WOW....what a GREAT room!! :thumbsup2Love the pics you took through the Mickey railings of Fultons, too cute!!!:cutie: And love that you got some balcony pics of your family from the ground, those are precious pics of your new home. I have to say, you guys are truly loving this DVC experience, aren't you? I'm soooo jealous that we can't buy there yet, and wish we could while our boys are still young, just not sure it will ever happen....makes me sad, but the good news is I get to live vicariously through you, so THANK YOU!!!:lovestruc Love the quiet night at DTD, sorry dinner wasn't what you were hoping for. Candy mecca.....mmmm...

I had to get that Mickey pic, it was begging for me to take it! ;) And yep, we LOVE DVC. The more I read about it, and learn about it, the more I enjoy it too. I'm very, very grateful we could swing it - 2 years ago we had over $20K in credit card debt. We pulled outselves out of that and now have a savings account and our only debt is the house, DVC and a school loan!!

I'm glad to provide the TRs to tide people over between trips, and share some of the DVC love with everyone too. :goodvibes THANK YOU for reading!

Brook, your updates are so much fun to read... you take us right along with you. Your studio looked very nice, good size for the 3 of you. Your view certainly made that room special, I still can't believe we haven't been to DTD before! Another reason to go back! I can always come up with good reasons! :rotfl:
It's sad that you are getting near the end of your TR but I know you are getting ready to share your next trip plans.
It's always funny to think about... you read someone's PTR and TR and you feel like you sort of know them. The internet is funny that way...:confused3 I have enjoyed getting "to know" you guys. I have also enjoyed the bantering here on your TR regarding the Minnesota accents, quite entertaining! ;)

Thank you! That is my goal-through words and pictures, transport you all RIGHT to WDW! :thumbsup2

DTD is an excellent reason to go back! Lots of fun shops and good eats. Joe and I enjoyed just walking up and down people watching too.

I am very, very excited to start planning the new trip. I have done a weeeeeee bit, but not much yet. I can't wait to share it all with you! I'm sure everyone is not going to be nearly as "over the moon" with it as I am though! :rotfl: (Though, it does involve Disney World, so I bet there will be at least some level of excitement! ;))

I agree with you about the internet. I find myself telling Joe about all you guys and gals here on the TR and I often say, "My DIS friend..." or something along those lines. While he's never gotten into online communities, he thankfully is a computer geek and gets it!

I love discussing the crazy Minnesota accent. I used to make fun of it all the time before I lived here! :rotfl2:

Awesome update. Love the room. You guys got a great one. Henry is just too cute. What a lucky boy to have such a wonderful family!

Thank you! :goodvibes We really did score good on that room! And I feel like I'm the lucky one to have such a good little boy. Hopefully it always stays that way as he gets older. ;)

That view from the studio is gorgeous! You guys lucked out! Love the pictures of Henry running around too, he must have had a blast :goodvibes:

He loved (and still does) running around anywhere. Tonight was at a local store similar to Target. He was ALL over the futons. Who knew climbing around on futons could be so much fun? I much prefer him running around at Disney World though because then it means I'm there too!!

Thanks for the shout out, my friend! Although it was G's zany brain that came up with the idea. Sometimes I really think he is a 12 year old stuck in the (very nice looking;)) body of a 40 year old.:lmao:

I like G's zany idea! It's really cute, and think of the pics over the years of people from the various balconies. You are too funny about your 12 year old/body comment! :rotfl:

All caught up now... Whew!! :goodvibes

Lovely, lovely view from your new digs. And I'm admiring how you are taking it so slow and easy... you're giving us a completely different taste of WDW that we should all learn to savor!

Kathy

Joe has changed me into a "take it slow" kinda gal. It really was very nice and MUCH easier with Henry to plan to be slow and relax. And I enjoyed catching little details I would have otherwised missed. I think if I ever get a solo trip I'll go TOTAL commando just to feed that Planner in me though! Thankfully Joe has designated me as the CVO (Chief Vacation Officer-stole that from my co-worker who is also a Disney World fan), and I get to plan ALL our getaways. :yay:

Awesome update. That was a totally nifty view you wound up with. WPE looked really tasty...sorry the melt was a letdown. I know how that goes. Looking forward to more of your Excellent Adventure.

I think the melt was just a letdown for me because of the cheese. And I'm picky on cheese. They do get RAVE reviews on the Food Pictures thread.

I like your "Excellent Adventure" comment - makes me wanna play air guitar. ;)

Fantastic view. :thumbsup2 I may need to re-think my 'We don't need to bother making room requests' rule.

:rotfl: You like to play "No Request Roulette" eh? At SSR, I would request 1301 for a Studio! :goodvibes

Hey, who's saying us Minnesotans have an accent? ;) (I'm on the phone a lot for my job and often get that "Fargo" comment.) Um, yeah, I guess we do. Heehee. And I have totally had a Malt Cup while being at a Twins game. There is nothing like that though it's been years for me too.

Wonderful update Brook. I think you got the best view SSR has to offer. They must have liked you all a whole lot. Or maybe cute Henry scored extra points or something like getting the free cookie. :)

You know, now that you say that about being on the phone, our Clients VERY often ask where we are based. And then let out a "Ah, okay." comment.

I think it was all Henry. Free cookies and great views!!

Another great post! It looks like Henry could entertain himself all day with the balcony.

He totally could have. He loved walking in and out, in and out, smearing the windows, in and out, bang the table, climb in the chair, in and out...!

What a great place to be! (It would be dangerous for me to be that close to all that shopping, though.) Very nice pictures.

It's so nice that you get to stay in such awesome Disney places. Henry is a lucky little guy!

Thanks MeMom! SSR can be very dangerous being that close to DTD and shopping. I'm very much a window shopper in most things, so it's just the FOOD that gets me!

I am a lucky Mommy to have a great little boy like Henry! And we really are very blessed to be able to have what we do!!

Great update Brook! Your room was great!!! I love the picture through the mickey railing!! So cute! Henry looks like he was having a grand time playing on the balcony! I guarntee he wasn't the first or last to smudge the windows! I'm sure mousekeeping has seen it all!

I cannot even begin to imagine what Mousekeeping has seen. I can't recall if I mentioned it on my TR, but during one morning when Henry threw up, it was all over the couch and floor. We had to call for a special cleaning. I felt SO bad, but they were up in no time and gave us fresh couch cushions and carpet.

I really liked the railings on the Studio - the majority of the railings at SSR weren't like that, so it was a picture that just HAD to be taken!

Ahhh, my Friday night ritual -- a Brookelizabeth update and tea! :goodvibes

What an awesome room and view! You did get lucky!!! Henry is always so cute playing on the balcony.

Well, Brook, I have to admit that everytime you do an update on your DVC rooms, I want to buy in -- one of these days my resolve is going to just up and leave! ;)

I'm part of your Friday night routine! That's really sweet. :goodvibes The DIS and tea, that sounds like a great way to spend an evening too!

Cave, cave, cave on DVC!! We are really glad we bought the more we crunch numbers and learn about it. The upfront costs can be intimidating though.

What an amazing view you had with the new room. WOW. It seems really nice to be so close to DTD. We may just have to check out SSR for a trip. Glad to hear your review on the Focca melt thingy. I was on the fence about trying one and now I think I will just stick with the pizza which I love. Cant wait to hear more!!

The Melts get really good reviews on the Food Pictures thread - I just think I was iffy on the cheese. It was too much for me, BUT, if you like cheese, you will probably like it! But the pizza, you just can't go wrong with that--very yummy!

I loved the quick walk from Congress Park at SSR to DTD, it was so handy and less than 5 minutes.

Awesome room! :thumbsup2 And, as usual, I'm loving the pictures! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Beautiful pics! Wow, what a view!

Thank you! It really was a great view!

:rotfl: No prob on the hijack! I don't mind one bit.

That is REALLY funny about the Canadian/Southern accent. I can't even imagine that!

Minnesotans DO think Canadians have a deeper accent, but I can really hear that they are similar. Kinda like OK and Texas maybe...

I have a few friends from OK and when I first met them they would look at me with their head slightly cocked with a slight smile on their faces. They told me after a while they just love to listen to me talk. I sound like I'm singing! :lmao:

What a perfect room! :thumbsup2 And that picture framed by the Mickey cut-out... very clever!!

That Henry... he looks like he's happy wherever he may be! Give him a balcony and he's set!

I found out today traveling all the way to Minneapolis for a malt cup isn't necessary.... while at the middle school helping with the PTA popcorn day, I saw kids with the delicious cups, complete with the little wooden spoon!

Next time I go help, I'm bringing cash!!

Henry does love the balconies...just like his Momma! Though, I think he must get the table banging from Daddy. ;)

That is GREAT news about the Malt Cup!!! I can't believe your Middle School has them!! That is really, really cool. I haven't been grocery shopping yet, I gotta scope out the freezer section and see if we have them here...

Hey everyone,
I just spoke to my Mom and my Grandma is in the hospital. She has been living with her son (my Uncle) for quite some time due to family drama with her brother (you might recall some deatails on that previously). Anyway, she fell as she was standing up to go to the dinner table and didn't get hurt, but her leg started to swell and the swelling would not go down. So my Uncle took her to the hospital. Her leg is fine, but they found out her heart isn't pumping properly.

My Mom (a nurse), said this isn't all that uncommon and there are several things they can do to help it, one is medicine, others are surgery. My Grandma is 87 years old, so any "minor" surgery is serious for her.

If you see this, please say a prayer for her.

My Grandma is so special to me, the very thought of her in the hospital completely freaks me out. :sad1:

Thanks all...
-Brook

Oh, Brook. I'm so sorry! I will absolutely say some prayers and send good thoughts your way and your grandma's way. I'm thinking about you! :grouphug:

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandma, Brook. I hope her condition improves so your mind and heart can be at ease.

brook, i completely understand how your feeling. when someone you love and care for deeply is in the hospital its scarey...my family is praying for her.

:hug:Brook, praying for you and your family, it's not easy at all to love someone so much and watch them go through this. Thinking of you and sending hugs your way!!

Sorry to hear about your Grandma! Sending good thoughts your way... :goodvibes

Brook, my thoughts are with you. I hope it all turns out well. I can say, having been through similar issues not long ago, take heart and and pleasure in you little son. He will bring so much joy to your life.
