I've always wanted to catch it at a midnight showing but until then, we have at least seen the movie.

I loved it. Very odd, quirky, and fun. Now I need to see if anyplace local does the theater showings still.

Have you seen it? Did you like it? Ever been to see it at a theater with people in costume and such?

I used to go every weekend my junior and senior year of high school. I loved the audience participation. I still remember a lot of the lines. Though it's not the same watching it at home yelling at the screen myself.

I caught it on video (VHS) Remember those? The first time I didn't like it but the second time I was hooked.

I love, love, love Rocky Horror Picture Show!! Tim Curry in tights, what could possibly be better??
"Meatloaf Again?"
"Always reach for your Hamilton Beach"
"Where's your neck?"
So may fabulous audience participation lines!!

You poor, deprived woman! :teeth: I spent many a Friday or Saturday night in my teen years and early 20's going to a midnight showing. What was cool is that I had two good theatres to see it. If I had friends who were driving, we went to the big theatre in East Meadow. If not, I hopped the train and saw it at a smaller theatre. After the show, I hopped on the train to the next town and met my mom, who was hanging out with her friends after work.

There's a place down here that has midnight showings and a whole cast. One of my former employees is Eddie. If not for trying to find a babysitter at that hour, I'd have gone already!

Love love LOVE Rocky Horror!

I used to go to that show every Saturday night!!!!

Mouse House Mama, if you were sitting anywhere further than 10 rows from the back, I apologize if I ever hit you in the head with toast, toilet paper, cards or rice! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

If you loved it at home, you would really love it in the theaters. I've seen it many, many, times in the theaters. I'm not sure if this how it works (worked) everywhere, but the two places I saw it also had live actors along with the movie on the screen-they were always a hoot! That plus the props and audience participation lines is an absolute riot! My friend and I tried just watching the movie on TV once and it just seemed so stupid without all the theater shenanigans.

It's just a jump to the left..........

I love when Frank sings "I'm Going Home" and you see an empty theatre. When I first saw the movie, the audience participation was "Look, it's a Menudo concert!", then it was "Look, it's a New Kids concert!", then "It's a Backstreet Boys concert!". Hilarious. :teeth:

Let's do the time warp again!!!!!!

I used to go every Saturday night back in the late 70's/early 80's. The very first time I went, I was invited by the 3 gay guys who lived across the hall from me while I was under the influence of some type of magical mushroom. I suspect they considered me the entertainment that night.

Last time I was at Universal I saw that they had a midnight show of the Rocky Horror on weekends.

I love that movie! I've had the DVD for years, but have only ever gone to a midnight showing once. There are no places that do it near where I live, but they used to do a Halloween showing in Charlotte every year. Haven't had a Halloween off in about two years now, though. *sigh* So it's just me and my DVD.

I have never seen that movie. We rented it once, and it was too weird for me. I didn't make it very far. Maybe I should give it another go.

I do like the song though! :cool1:

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it's the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane,
Let's do the Time Warp again!

I love that movie!

The only problem was, that the first time i saw it, it was with my boyfriends parents. :scared: CRINGE!!!

TIME WARP!!!!

Ah, I also have fond memories of going to the midnight showing of Rocky Horror most weekends during my late teens and early 20's. I love the movie but watching it in my living room is just not the same.

Do they still show it in theaters some places? I'd love to take my dd. She likes the movie but I just know she'd adore it in the theater.

We went almost every weekend my freshman year in college (1984). What a blast. We did usually dress up. I remember a lot of the lines. I drug DH about 14 years ago. Some of the lines were changed, and not for the better IMO. I was yelling the old ones- prob. sounded pretty stupid:lmao:

We tried to watch it a few years ago at home. I might have to try again. I think my oldest DD would like it.:)

We used to see it midnight on either Friday or Saturday night of any week for years from when I was about 15-18- what a riot!! The best was when they showed it on the halloween nights at midnight!!! My friends daughter watched it on video all the time when she was little (3-5 years old) good thing she didn't understand most of the adult content in there!! It was a wierd movie for a kid to love LOL.

See it-- I used to be in it!

If you saw a live production (with the movie and actors), it would even make a sailor blush! -- at least our production would anyway.

I know everyone here knows this story--but that is where I met my DH!
