and I already miss it so much. The trip was amazing and being there with FH made it even more amazing.
So here goes, my first Trip Report. Certainly not my last!!
We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The hotel is overwhelming! There is just so much going on I think you could stay there over and over again and never see it all!
I don't want to bore you with a detail-by-detail account of our trip so I will just give you the highlights...
We were at Animal Kingdom from 11:30am until 5:45pm and it was enough time to do all the things we wanted to do. Expedition Everest was great!! The Safari was amazing and "It's tough to be a Bug" and Dinosaur were so much fun! I truly believe the Gorillas were making faces at the people looking at them, they are so funny!
The next day we were woken up by a wake up call from Mickey Mouse. FH turned to me and says, "Wake up, it's the best day of the year. Magic Kingdom Day!!" He's so cute.
We went to the Magic Kingdom and made it in time to see the park open. Please, please, please, if you get a chance check this out. This was the first time for either of us seeing it and I had tears in my eyes. It truly is Magical, and from now on every Magic Kingdom Day we will make it there for the opening. We were going into MK thinking that Pirates of the Caribbean was closed. However this wasn't the case. I looked today and it said that it was open from April 8 to the 30th. I swear this didn't say this before we left. But whatever, it was open and we went on it 2 times!
We went on Thunder Mountain 2 times in a row (no fast passes, just beat the crowd), Space Mountain 2 times in a row (once without fast pass once without only a 10 minute wait
). It was great, almost like we had the place to ourselves.
It wasn't fully a Magic Kingdom Day because we left around 4pm because we had reservations for the 8pm Spirit of Aloha Show. It was phenomenal. It made me miss Hawaii and I haven't been there yet! (It will be the honeymoon location though!
)
Wednesday was EPCOT day. We did a couple things around Future World, but mostly shopping around the World Showcase. Went back to the hotel around 3pm and took naps. We were back at EPCOT around 6pm to get 7:10pm reservations for Le Cellier. Food was great! Maple Crème Brule to die for!! Stayed for Illuminations, which of course was great.
Thursday was half MGM day and the 2nd half was Magic Kingdom Day because we had to see Wishes and it was a great way to end the vacation. MGM was almost empty, and when we got to MK around 5pm it must have been big group day and there were large groups of people everywhere! But apparently they werent going on rides because the only ride with a significant wait was Space Mountain. We got in one more ride on Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain (fast pass), and 2 times on Pirates (where we said goodbye because the next time we go it will be different). We watched the fireworks, I cried (because I am such a sap) and FH promised that we would be back.
Oh! We checked in to our flight at the hotel, I believe this is offered at every Disney Resort. Checked in at the desk in the lobby, got boarding passes and checked our luggage. This is a great option! You dont have to worry about large suitcases when traveling to the airport and you can avoid the check-in process at the airport and you go straight to security when you get there. So helpful, I highly suggest it!
FH says we will start planning the next trip as soon as we can. He says probably January!! Woo Hoo!!!
