Sophia's first visit to the MK is Tuesday! They are doing CRT for breakfast ( Sophia has a beautiful Cinderella gown and a gorgeous pink one, but she might be too shy to wear those) and 2 ngts at AOA in an LM room.. If the visit goes well, and she wants to go back, I would like to take her for 3 or 4 ngts the early part of the last week of August - 25, 26, 27. Fingers crossed!

Sorry I have gotten so far behind. Very busy week last week with no time to DIS.

Your travel day sounds exhausting, but arrival at BLT sounds great when it includes a trip into the MK!

Thank you for posting your Fort Fincastle and Queens' staircase pictures. I really want to see both of those things, but I am pretty torn. I don't know whether I should go to Atlantis or another beach. It seems like its pretty difficult to do both.

How do you get to the Queen's staircase? Do you take a cab?

I've got some news for you!

PLANNING NEWS:

Part two of our WDW stay, the part after our back to back cruises is now finally booked and we got exactly what we wanted!

As much as we LOVE OKW, we wanted to try something "new" and had a look at the other resorts. There was one resort that stood out because of its awesome pool!

And YES, we are booked at

BEACH CLUB VILLAS in a 1 bedroom villa!!!!!!

It should be awesome to be so close to Epcot and finally getting to try some of the "liquid" offerings (since we drive these were always out of reach). We are staying there for 4 nights.

Still one more part to book (need to call Disney and buy some of those one time use points) ..... hm, I wonder if you can guess what resort we have in mind.

News from the home front!
Tom is on sickleave! He had a fall and hurt his back. He tried to go to work for a few days, but yesterday the pain got unbearable and he went to the doctors!
He's now home, but needs to get to the doctors daily to get some shots. Hope he's okay again in time for our vacation. I really want him to ENJOY it!!!

This week we got a huge surprise from our friend (and CG server Ron). This huge box was delivered to our house.

Needless to say I had to open it right away.

and some Mickey confetti!!!!!!!! I love those! I always pick up the ones sprinkled on the table and Ron knows and always hands me some extra!

Apart from that the week was pretty stressful for both of us. Tom had his insury and we are going towards half term and this week I had two huge exams another one next week, so that means more than 70 exam papers to mark! So NO fun!

Your dates would work out WELL for us. We will arrive Aug 7 and stay until Aug 10 when we board the Disney Fantasy.
But end of August would work too ...... just keep these dates in mind Aug 24 - 28 so we overlap and can meet!

You are not that far behind, Mary Ellen. There was little time for me here on the DIS too.
The travel day might sound exhausting, but it is the only way we know and I guess we are already used to it! And the thought of getting into MK on that first night is just awesome. Peoplemover here I come.

You can easily walk up to Fort Fincastle and the Queen's staircase. I downloaded a "sightseeing walk" of Nassau and we follow bits and pieces of it. I would say you would not need more than an hour and a half to walk up there, have a look around and get back to the ship.
We don't go to beaches in Nassau and have been to the Atlantis once. We did the aquarium tour and I was SO done with it when it was over. They are just pushing people through - yes, we could have gone back to some areas but all I wanted was some quiet - it was very crowded at the Atlantis.
If you want to have a look at the "walk" around Nassau, let me know and I'll PM you the link.

Oh, Karin, I am so sorry to hear of Tom's injury - it sounds terribly painful and I pray he will feel MUCH better by travel time. Very gentle hugs to him.

Well, what an intense couple of weeks you two have before your trip! I hope you are able to squeeze in a little Dis time to lift your spirits.

What a wonderful resort surprise - BCV!!! You will absolutely LOVE the stroll to and from EPCOT. While the BC is not one of my favorite resorts, I do like it very much and know you and Tom will enjoy the location!

(of course, there really isn't a resort we dislike - since the rooms at BC are smaller than CR and Polynesian, when we tried BC when it was new, the rooms felt so small to us because we were so spoiled! Lol)

Some ISPD (industrial strength pixie dust) on the way for you both!

We have stayed at the YC before and absolutely LOVED it. What made us pick BCV? Stormalong bay of course.
We loved the short walk from the YC to Epcot, so I guess we will really enjoy this stay at BCV.

Ron had warned us, that he had sent something, but I never expected it to be such a huge box! He is very nice!

We are very excited at the prospect of being able to use Stormalong Bay again. I guess it will be nice to just walk over to Epcot - same as BLT and MK.
