We were on EEA (Universe of Energy) on Saturday, April 15th and had a "JUMPER" in the row right in front of us! This was a first for us in almost 20 years of WDW vacations.

We were sitting in the second row of the "travelling theater car" to the far left. A family with 3 kids was in front of us. Despite the "keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times warning" one kid had her feet up on the front wall of the car and was dangling her flip flops from her shaking feet.

Before the theater cars started their journey into the "dino room" one of the girl's flip flops fell to the floor. Dad gets up and leans over the front of the vehicle to retrieve the flip flop. Not realizing that the floor of the theater is lower than the floor of the vehicle, he is precariously perched on the front wall of the car. From somewhere in the dark came "Sir, sit down! SIR! SIT DOWN!" Seems a CM is watching from a podium that you can not see in the dark.

The lights come up, but the film portion of the attraction continues. Dad is now berating child. Film stops and the doors to the the theater open. The CM tells guests to remain seated. There is silence for several minutes when the phone rings on the CM's podium. "It's the banker," I tell my kids. They laugh, understanding the reference to "Deal or No Deal." The CM says into the phone, "We have jumper. A man just tried to crawl over the front of the car."

Eventually they spun us back to our original position and made us leave. The attraction was then shut down for at least 30 minutes - all because of a flip flop and not keeping your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times! :furious:

Just goes to show how one person can ruin it for the whole group, eh?

Better luck next time!

Wow. That must have been someting! I would have been annoyed!

Did she get the flip flop back?

My friend once jumped off Its a Small World and took a picture with one of the dolls while the boats were stopped. Of course, I didnt believe him until he showed me the picture. To this day, neither of us can figure out how he wasnt thrown out of the park.

The ride vehicles run on rubber tires and are steered electonically over a smooth floor. The flip flop could cause missteering or jam up something. So once it is known a foreign object is down there the object has to be accounted for and removed.

Wow. That sucks! I would have been upset! The father should have told the daughter to put her feet down to begin with.

Yeah, dopey dad who sat right next to dopey daughter did get the flip flop back before almost falling over the front of the vehicle. I think he did hit the girl (about 10 years old) once or twice with the flip flop (which I do not endorse). Dopey dad should have told the daugter to put her feet down. Yes, several hundred people were inconvenienced. :sad2:

Speaking of people doing stupid/rude things inside rides, my BFs first ride on the HM was ruined because a man kept taking flash photos.. I had aslways thoguht someone would be watching in this case but no voice came over any speakers. Its not just that he took one or a couple pictures but it was over and over... Of EVERYTHING. I eventually said loud enough for him to hear please stop taking pictures and no flash photography and so he did it even MORE. I was pretty upset about the whole thing because BF had never been on the ride before and it really ruined the whole experience!

This reminded me of this.

So people, please FOLLOW THE RULES. And if you absolutly need pictures, bring a non-flash digital or wait for a time or day or time of year to go when there is noone else on the ride with you. thats how i got pics inside of Pooh! :rolleyes2

PS: who would wear flipflops walking around all day anyways? doesnt it hurt your feet?

My sister was a "jumper" on Carousel of Progress. Her baby was crying and she and I discussed whether she should just take her out. She said, "But aren't these seats moving?" I said, "No, it's just the stage." She gets up, opens door, and bleep, bleep-- alarms, daylight, announcements, complete darkness for awhile. People were complaining about the idiot who set off the alarm. After the ride, she could have killed me. We laughed and laughed.

We had a jumper on Tuesday (4/18) on Spaceship Earth... Some teenager about 4 cars in front of us decided he didn't like where he was sitting and jumped out and got in the car behind where he was originally... The ride stopped immediately and was stopped for about 15 minutes.... They eventually got the ride moving again, but security was there when they got off and took him and 3 other teens to the side for a while...... Not sure what happened then, as we left for Turtle Talk...

I don't think I've ever SEEN a jumper, but I've read about the consequences--people can REALLY get hurt (or killed). Dad was lucky he didn't fall out of the car all together.

Yes, I read an article online about a man a few years ago that jumped off of Splash Mountain before the drop and had his torso crushed by another vehicle. :sad2:

We were waiting in line years ago for Splash Mountain and the line stopped moving. We later found out that at the last moment, someone jumped out before they splashed down and the ride was shut down for a little while. I can't even imagine jumping out. But I guess it does happen.

Oh thank God everyone was okay. I agree he was an idiot to stand up in the car. I would have been terrified sitting behind him wondering what would become of him. I can't imagine trying to console my kids if they witnessed something gruesome at WDW but thankfully it didn't come to that.

DH's new baseball cap went flying off his head at Rock 'n Rollercoaster :lmao: We did the baby swap and when it was my turn he asked me to ask the CM if he could get it back. Pleeeeeeease, like they don't have enough to do. I didn't want to lie to DH so I just kinda mumbled to the CM "DH lost his hat in here, any chance? Mumble mumble mumble" and the CM just said "sorry it would be very hard to track it down but I could speak to my manager (or someone)". I told him that it was no problem at all, not to worry about it, we'd get another one. So when I got back to DH I told him I and the CM had done absolutely everything in our power to get the hat back but no luck. :lmao: See it is possible to keep everyone happy.
