Mercy, there's some grouchy people on here

It may seem a little childish to complain about towel animals and the like, but people are paying big bucks for these vacations (me included!)...if they want to get upset, let them! Folks just need to let off a little steam sometimes...no need to call them ridiculous for their opinions. There are plenty of ways to disagree without belittling someone's post.

They do count the under 3's in the total room count (I know this because we have a family of 5 with the youngest being 2 and it limited our choices).

I am completely baffled by the general opinion that making a huge racket (tree trimming with power tools) outside of someone's hotel window is acceptable hotel management! I expect reasonable quiet inside my room at all times. Just as I expect the room to be clean. If maintainance in the area means that basic hotels conditions can't be met (quiet, cleanliness) than those rooms affected should be blocked from sale untill the maintainance is completed. Period. Yes, tree trimming needs to be done-- but not outside the window of an occupied room! A poster above metioned the the hotel doesn't know when tree trimming will occur and that therefore can't be expected to handle it-- That is bull. Tree trimming isn't an act of god, it is an act of the disney company and they need to take responsibility for the effect it may have on the guests. At the very least, a complaining guest should immediately and apologetically moved.

The little stinker , I can see where that wouldn't have worked out for you then. We've dealt with broken bones right before vacation on 2 separate occassions, but knock on wood, the kids have always been healthy when we went away. I did get sick on one trip and I honestly can't remember most of it. I came down with an awful cold and all I wanted to do was sleep. My poor husband had the worst time trying to take care of me and run around with the kids. I had one good day at the MK and the rest is pretty much a blur.

I hope you all do get an opportunity to go back and that it's as magical as it should be.

I just checked with a few other people and they said that anyone under the age of 3 is not counted towards room occupancy. You should only have limited choices if your child is similar to Duckadoos and will not sleep in a pack & play.

Well, this is the first time we have gone to disney as a family of 5 so we don't have a lot of experience with it. But, I was repeatedly told during booking that that various rooms at AKL would not be available to us as a family of 5. Of course, it wouldn't be the first time that a cast member has been mistaken on something.

I always get a kick out of people who complain how far their room is from the food court/pool/bus/laundry/bar. For crissakes people your spending 8 hours a day on your feet, is it that terrible to have to walk 5 minutes to get a drink?? Someone had a heart condition, (severity unknown) did they got to parks? Did they walk around there? If not, and were so bad they needed a scooter at the park they should have one at the hotel at which point which room you had is a moot point. Traveled there 6 times with my Dad and his heart condition, you know what, if he wanted something to eat/drink one of us more able bodied would take the 10 minutes out of our vacation to help him. He never once *****ed because our room wasn't the most convenient, he was just happy to be able to be with his kids and grandkids on vacation. If your truly that disabled that you can't get around at home, what makes you think Disney will be different? And as a long time sever allergy sufferer, allergens are everywhere, you make do the best you can or stay home in your HEPA filtered home. I choose to make the best of it and spend the day on my feet.

Gee someday I hope I and my family can be as perfect as some 'able-bodied' posters on this board.No where in any on my posts did I imply that I wasn't ready,willing, or able to take 10 mins out of my time to get someone a drink or anything else they needed. Also, somepeople are more disabled than others. My family was also happy to "just happy to be able to be with his[her] kids and grandkids [ nieces]on vacation. " That's why we had a great time..except for the resort.

There is nobody who has the right to pass judement on the extent of the disaabilites of my 2 family members. Yes, they are *truly* disabled. We know the *true* defintion of disabled as I also stated previously, an immediate family member (her son) passed away from a *true* disability. I honestly don't care if it meets some posters definition and/requirement of a 'true' disabilty. We know the definition all too well.
I can't stand the fact that I'm made to feel that I have to defend my opinions and/or my family. What a shame.
