We have never stayed at BW or BWV, so on our next trip (which will be our longest trip yet) we will stay for part of the time at BWV. (OKW is home for us, but we love seeing the other resorts)

Hubby just got off the phone with Members Services a bit ago. And its all set. I am soo excited.
:bounce:

It will be a two week trip starting with 4 nights at AKL, then on to DCL for a 3-day cruise, then to BWV for the last 5 nights.
We are paying cast for the cruise portion, but decided to use our points for the rest.

Boy, do I love DVC. Now only to wait until Sept. for all this fun to start.
I just had to share my joy with everyone. :D

It sounds like you have a wonderful trip planned. Congratulations on making the reservation! I have a question about the DCL portion of your trip. Did you book it through MS or did you book with a travel agent or DCL directly? I was wondering if you are paying with cash which route would be best. Also are you driving down or renting a car for your transportation from Disney to the port and back? Thanks and have a great time!

Have a great trip! We fell in love with AKL in Jan. :)

Lisa,
We booked through Dreams Unlimited and they have been great.
We will be renting a car for our trip and then just take ourselves to and from the port.
Although on our last 7-day cruise (only did the cruise-no WDW visit) we rented from Avis drove to the Raddison and then took there shuttle to the port. Oh yeah, Avis has a rental office at the Raddison. And did the reverse for the return trip.

To elaborate on what my wife (danicaw) said:

Dreams Unlimited was a great choice. We never use travel agents for anything, preferring to do everything ourselves. However, one thing I like about DU is that you don't actually give them any money. You give them your credit card and they pass it on to Disney and Disney is the one who actually charges your card. Also when we originally booked, our cruise price was $1137 (Cat 10, 3-day, 2 people, September), but when DCL lowered their prices for fall, we got an email the same day from DU telling us that they had repriced our cruise for $917.

As far as getting to the port, since we are at WDW for 2 weeks and just have the 3-day cruise in the middle, we will just drive our rental over and park at the terminal for the 3 days.

Thanks so much for the replies! I always make my own reservations and never use a travel agent either but I will consider Dreams for a possible cruise next year when DH and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. We plan on stretching our points as far as they can go so I don't think we'll be using them for cruises. I would like to cruise in the fall and hopefully there will be some good cash discounts available.

A couple more questions if you don't mind. Have you guys done the 3 day cruise before? Do you find it too short? Does all the moving back and forth (it seems like you'll be packing and moving 2 or 3 times during your trip) seem like a hassle?

Again, thanks for the advice/comments!

Lisa

Lisa,
We have never done the 3-day before and I am a bit affraid it will feel to short. But I am willing to try it :D. The 7-day was wonderful, but we just don't have the time off to do that as well this year.

We have gone every year from 97 to 00, then we cruised last year. And 3 of the 4 times we switched resorts. Its just the two of us so we don't have to much to pack and we both love seeing other resorts from the guest point of view. We find the whole process to be easy and fun even.
