I think we are renting 300 points right from the start, not to sure yet! We might just "splurge" and use them for our Dec. Cruise Don't yell at us, we know it is not good use of points, BUT What the HEY!

P.S. Closing shouldn't take that long if the seller gets his/her paperwork to the closing company in a timely manner. Also, you can rent your points and pay cash for your cruise instead to come out ahead.

Thanks everyone! I did forget to post that we paid $72pp.

I think it is a pretty good deal! In our case, better than MB because we were able to keep 2002 points and get a lower price than Disney @$74pp (MB)

Anyways, I haven't come down off of cloud nine yet! My husband is away and doesn't even know yet so I can't wait for him to call!

As far as cruise points For the 4 of us to go it is 410 points that is Cat. 11 - can't decide what to do. If I could rent for 100 pts. at a time (total -300) I would do it, but the a few points here & there might be to much for me for a newcomer. . What to do, what to do?

on the cruise you could do both - use the 2002 points (because they have to be used by december) - and pay cash for everything else.

Can I ask when your offer was submitted and how long it took for the Timeshare Store to get back to you?

It was approx. 2 1/2 wks since our offer. We placed the offer on May 12? There abouts and we heard on Thursday.


We were notified by this benign letter from the closing company! We didn't even know it was approved. I called the Timeshare store this morning to find out!

I guess I missed the "GLITZ"

buying from DVC direct!

Congratulations! We are also in the same situation as you. We heard from the closing company a couple weeks ago. We made the offer at the end of April, I thought we would have been closed by now (BWV, 270 pts, December use year). It's a long waiting game!
