Wow it is amazing! We hooked it up on Sat and she picked up on it so fast! We have a very stubborn yellow lab who doesn't like to come when called!
The directions says we must keep her leashed for a month! But I let her off today and we had the best time! Playing ball running around! Granted she still didn't always come right away but she wouldn't even go near the edge of the property! So We plan to keep walking her and letting her off some. I wouldn't leave her outside with out one of us but this is SO NICE!

It is a wire you put in the ground and the dog wears a receiver when it gets close to the wire it starts to get a correction. First it hears a sound then it gets some type of zap or something. It works on radio frequencies. When first training the dog you put little white flags up! This is where I ordered it from!

We are going to have to put one up for our new dog. She has been bringing home things from other people's houses in the neighborhood. She is a lab mix so I guess "retrieving" is part of her nature. We got a free newspaper today.

I'm glad to hear someone else's success. Its a lot cheaper than putting up a fence. Our other dog stays around so we don't have to worry about him.

Please remember to change the batteries in the collar every so often. We had a neighbor who had on of these fences and did not put new batteries in the collar before the battries lost all power. As a result their dogs would be terrorizing the neighborhood all day while these people were at work. I was cornered at least three times by these dogs and my dog got bit too. Needless to say, I am not a fan of these invisible fences. Another thing to know is other dogs can go into your yard and if they attack your dog, your dog is bounded by this kind of fencing.

Hi Yes I know the batteries are very important we have a collar that blinks when the batteries are low. Plus I figure we will check and change when it is time for flea tick and heart worm.
As for other dogs. We know the neigborhood dogs. I have faith in the system but not total trust if that makes sense. I would loved to fence our yard but it would be next to impossible and the cost....We have an acre and it is really cut up with driveway, shape of the house/car port, trees, hills etc...so this was the best alternative.
I have a feeling with time she won't need the collar if we work with her and really spend time teaching her the property line. my other dog never left the property and didnt' even know we had a front yard she trained easily. Jessie is very smart and once she gets through all this puppy stuff I think it will be smooth sailing...But I plan to keep the batteries in and powered up!

We have one for our huskie and it has been great. We have a regular fence too, but she was constantly digging under it. She could be out of the yard in less than five minutes! She hasn't gotten out once since we got the invisible fence. She knows not to go near it now, so she doesn't ever get shocked anymore. If she does get too close, she hears the warning beep and backs up in a hurry. I know she would be dead by now if we hadn't gotten the fence, since we live on a pretty busy road.
