We Couldn't Stay Away...A January/February 2012 PTR--TR LINK UP 2/8

hi there...just joining in...we are going in early Jan...ssshhh...it's a surprise for DH until we go on our Dream cruise next week!!
Anyways, just found you and wanted to say hi and I'll be reading and planning along with you!!!

That is awesome your flight price went down!! And what's even better is you'll get to use that credit for the wedding. :)

I think you could do your wedding/disneymoon PTR in with this PTR! Might be easier!

Just saw you have a new PTR! So exciting that you get to go again so soon! I was really hoping to be able to swing a trip this January but idk if it will work out. My DBF and I did a trip similar back in 09,we stayed at AS Sports and went very budget, especially with meals. It was the greatest trip i've ever taken! Great deal with the airfare, I really love flying SW right out of Islip, its so convenient.

As for your question, I suggest writing your wedding/disneymoon report as a new thread in the weddings and honeymoons TR section. Many of the reports there are people with weddings elsewhere having Disneymoons. Plus, it would be easier for people who are interested in that type of report to find. But of course if you do it in this thread that works just fine too! I'll def be reading! popcorn::

Hi Kristen,I followed your link from the FB group. So happy that you were able to squeeze in another trip before your honeymoon. Budget trips can be fun too, and that's coming from a deluxe snob. I love CHH as well. There are so many good counter services places to choose from. Can't wait to hear more about your plans.

Very good news on your flight price! :thumbsup2

I think it would be nice if your wedding trip was a separate story all in its own, but do whatever is easiest for you.

Have you started inquiring about what the job situation is for teachers in Florida? Are you willing to stay in banking or do something else if teaching isn't easy to get into in order to be in Florida? Or maybe you could sub and get your foot in the door that way. I have no idea what the field is like down there right now.

Joining in!

About your question, I think you should do it all in one thread. It's easier that way for you and for us following it. You could just use different color fonts depending on what you're talking about.

I did a whole 4 in 1 in my PTR : PTR to my Disneymoon, PTR to my wedding, TR of my wedding in Cuba, and TR of a trip to Disney I had taken 2 years before and had never written a TR for! I just used 4 different colors. Link is in my signature.

Welcome!! I'm still undecided on the whole 1 thread or 2 thing...such difficult decisions haha Did you do a Disneymoon TR? I would love to read it!

Don't you just looooove Southwest?! I DO! ;)

Speaking of "I do's!"... I seriously can't believe yall have less than a year left to go!! I'm so excited for you & Chris!

Isn't there a whole section devoted to Disney Weddings and stuff? Or is that JUST for people getting married at Disney World?

Either way, I'd probably start a new one. Only because I'd want that in it's own special thread.

But keeping it with this one wouldn't be a bad idea at all either.

Ahhh, I'm no help am I?

I do love SW!!! OMG girl, Friday will be one year! Ahhhh!!! I'm still undecided on 1 thread or 2...booooo to not making a decision lol

I actually wrote a report in the wedding section in 2008 when I got married. It wasn't a Disney wedding but I figured I could write one since I was having a Disney honeymoon. :thumbsup2

That's good to know! I want to do that...I think...lol

WOW that flight went down low! Awesome that you have that credit to put towards getting to tink's wedding too :thumbsup2

It might be easier to keep it all in one thread, but it would be nice to have your own little thread devoted to your wedding and Disneymoon planning. I am so excited to read about that, too!

I'm so happy about the flights and having credit to fly to Tink's now! It will help us out a lot!

Welcome, thanks for joining in!! I started to read some of your most recent TR the other night, I'm loving it!

Hello my love! I'm so happy we have credit to use to fly to your wedding now! YAY!!

Hey girl! I'm glad you found me! I hope you and your BF are able to go in January! Did you turn him into a WDW lover? lol Flying from Islip is amazing, I wish the flights home were cheap but I couldn't pass up the cheap flight into LGA.

Welcome, thanks for joining in!! I'm sososooo happy we're able to go again. I don't think I would have been able to wait a whole year longer lol I'm not SUPER thrilled about this trip being so budget...but if it's budget trip or no trip, I'm definitely going with budget!

Very good news on your flight price! :thumbsup2

Thanks, MeMom! I am not 100% on how the job situation for teachers is in FL but thanks to Chris' family being down there, I know it's better than it is up here. I'd definitely be willing to stay in banking and do subbing to get my foot in the door in FL. I'm kind of hoping being certified from NY and having my Master's degree from here is gonna put me ahead of a lot of other candidates since NY is one of the hardest states to get certified in!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm doing some lesson planning right now and then I'll head off to Chris' hockey game at 9:00. Yesterday I worked and then went and got my hair highlighted and lowlighted. We stayed in and kept it a low key night last night. Then this morning I had to go to Babies R Us for a gift for my cousin's baby shower. She's due the day after Christmas and I can't wait! Then, 3 of my bridesmaids, my mom, my grandma, Chris' mom and Chris' niece (our flower girl) went looking for bridesmaids dresses! I haven't made a decision on whether I'm going to keep the wedding PTR and this one together or not...but I'm kinda leaning towards making a whole new thread. I want people who are specifically interested in reading wedding PTRs to be able to and keep the wedding stuff seperate! But anyway, when we were looking for bridesmaids dresses (which we didn't find anything worth buying yet) we went to the same place I was getting my dress from. I had to wait to get shoes before they could order it so, today I brought my shoes with me so I could try it on and they could figure out the hem. Well, as I'm sitting in the bridal room, this dress is hanging up and staring me right in the face. I see it and I love it so I tell my mom, "I'm trying this on." I get in the dressing room, try it on and fall in love. O.M.G. It is perfect. Blows the first dress out of the water, no comparison. So needless to say, I found a new wedding dress today that I am OVER THE MOON in love with  I'm so happy to get to marry the love of my life and walk down the aisle and stun him in this gorgeous gown :cloud9:

So now that you've heard the story of my weekend, I wanted to add a few trip related things! First, our friends may be coming with us! Another couple we're close with heard we were going and are very interested, especially because it's so cheap! Joe works with Chris at the cable company and Sam is his girlfriend of the past 5 1/2 years. We all get along really well and hangout all the time. I've sent Sam all the info as far as pricing goes but they want to have dinner one night this week so they can ask us some questions in person. I think we're meeting up Tuesday night so wish us luck! I'd love to have them come. Joe has never been and Sam hasn't been since she was much younger so I want to show them all WDW has to offer and make them see why Chris and I love it so much!

I got our annual pass vouchers in the mail last week! I'm a little worried though because when I booked our reservation, I booked an AP rate. The lady on the phone told me I just had to have the AP with me when I checked in. Does this mean I'm going to have to get off of DME, go to a park (or DTD), get the actual APs at Guest Relations, go back to ASSp to check in and then go BACK to whatever park? I feel like thats going to take up so much precious time. Does anyone know if this is how it will work? :confused3

Chris was a little worried about staying in a value again because we like to have a fridge in the room. He seemed to have forgotten about my super DIS skills and the super fridge swaps the DIS has to offer. I was able to find a swap with open dates a few days ago and we're in :thumbsup2 This will be awesome for us because like I'd said, we're doing breakfast in the room each morning. We will be bringing cereal and the like with us so we'll want to get a half gallon of milk and some juice and stuff and just be able to leave it in the room. Without a fridge, I'd be sending Chris to the food court every morning to get us milk or whatever and though he'd do it, I'd rather him not have to! So YAY to the DIS and all the great people on it for starting fridge swaps :thumbsup2

I'll be back sometime this week with more on our CS food places we're going to eat at and hopefully some good news on whether Joe and Sam will be joining us on this trip! Have a great week everyone :wizard:

Welcome!! I'm still undecided on the whole 1 thread or 2 thing...such difficult decisions haha Did you do a Disneymoon TR? I would love to read it!

I'm currently writing the Disneymoon TR. I just updated day 5 today. The link is in my signature, as well as the link to my 4-in-1 PTR. Here it is again:

Zombie Apocalypse and Pixie Dust - A 2 Weeks Disneymoon Trip Report

Isn't it wonderful and magical when you find THE dress? :cloud9: I just decided to try on my wedding dress again last night just for fun, and it felt just as special. :lovestruc

That's awesome about the fridge!!! Kevin and I brought a bunch of things that needed to be cold once... we just brought a smaller sized cooler and in the morning/night we'd add ice and take away water... it kept the stuff icy :) Thankfully, the room was also kept in the 60's so maybe that helped! haha! yeah right. i'm such a floridian.

i'm so glad you got your dress!! AMAZING! Ugh I wish I could see it! I'm sure it's gorgeous :)

My vote it for another wedding thread to be started! :thumbsup2

I subbed to your Disneymoon TR and photobucket decided to be a pain and say you exceeded your bandwith :( I'm reading along though!

I'm so happy I found THE dress, I can't stop thinking about it! Awww, that's so cute you tried your wedding dress on again! :goodvibes

Benefits of living in FL and driving...you get to bring a cooler! I can't wait until that's Chris and I! Oh man, the one time we kept the room so cool (like 66-68 the whole time) Chris and I BOTH got so sick!! It was our July 2010 trip and tinkgurl probably remembers I was carrying napkins around in my park bag like it was my job lol now we have to remember to keep the room at like 72 and put it to 75 when we leave the room!

I LOVEEEEE my dress :lovestruc I can't stop thinking about it!!! I've decided, I'm going to start the wedding PTR in another thread. I'll post the link when I start!

Hey, I'm joining in! I gotta go back and get caught up, but just wanted to sub before I forgot!

ooh! I hope your friends join you! and I really wish I could see your new dress :) how fun!

Joining in! I must say, reading the Dis has really warmed me to the idea of planning a budget trip. Going kind of all out is fun but staying in a value and getting creative with food choices sounds like more of a planning challenge!

Can't wait to read your wedding PTRs! I always start reading them but forget about them because I never comment (since it seems weird to read the wedding board when I'm not engaged yet??) and then always end up rereading them from the beginning multiple times. Congrats on finding your dress!

Hey girl, thanks for joining! I love your TR so far!

ooh! I hope your friends join you! and I really wish I could see your new dress :) how fun!

I hope so too, we're going to dinner with them tonight! Oh, I just love my dress! :goodvibes

I just want to say I started reading your most recent TR (and forgot to sub, now that I think about it) and you are such a strong woman! You have 2 beautiful kids and I'm glad you're getting the happily ever after you deserve :grouphug:

Welcome and thanks for joining in! We've never done a total budget trip like this before! Actually, the shortest amount of time we've ever been there have been 7 days so aside from money, we're cutting back on days. It's so worth it if you have to pick between no trip or budget trip to go with the budget trip! :thumbsup2

I hope you do read AND comment in my wedding PTR! I will be starting it very shortly, hopefully this weekend :woohoo:

HI! :cutie:

I absolutely love your new dress. You already knew that though. It looks amazing. I cannot wait to see it in person. Did you end up buying it then?

I was so mad the one-shoulder bridesmaid dress didn't come in the right colors!

And....welcome to the AP family!! :dance3:

I'm looking forward to seeing your beautiful dress! :woohoo:

I wish I could show it to everyone now!

Hello my dear! Thank you!! I'm so in love with it too! Yes, I believe they ordered it for me :goodvibes

I'm still looking for another one shoulder dress similar to that one!

Thanks for the welcome

It's almost the weekend :banana::woohoo::yay:

I hope everyone has had a nice week. I'm looking forward to this weekend. Chris' aunt and cousin are up on Long Island from Florida. We plan on meeting with them Saturday night for dinner and some drinks! We haven't seen them since we were in Florida in December of last year so we miss them and will be happy to spend some time with them.

Well, last night we went to dinner with Joe and Sam. We talked a little about Disney and they asked us a few questions about tickets, the dining plan, etc. After a little discussion between the two of them about money they made a decision...will they be coming with us???

YES!!! Yay!!:dance3::cheer2: I'm so happy! We're going to have such a great time and I'm really excited! Sam hasn't been to WDW since she was in middle school and Joe has never been! I'm sad we're only going to be there for 4 nights because there's so much to show them that obviously we won't get to show them in such a short amount of time. But, we're sure going to try and show them everything possible! I'm going to add their introductions to the first post where I did mine and Chris'. A thing to add though, they are going to have the dining plan. Chris and I emphasized to them how many awesome places there are to eat at WDW and well, they're not saving for a wedding, so they have a little more money to play with than we do at this point. So, I made some dining ressies for them! They literally said, "Book us wherever, you know the good places!" I will get to all that later in the PTR!

GO TO THE FIRST POST FOR JOE AND SAM INTRODUCTIONS!

Also, I think I'm going to start my wedding/Disneymoon PTR this weekend, in another thread. I'll post the link as soon as I start! :goodvibes

OOOH Definitely subscribing!! Looking forward to your wedding PTR also!!!! Congrats!!!!!!

Great news that Joe and Sam can come! When i went back to the first post and saw their picture I was like ahh i've seen them before! haha idk it must be because we all went to the same high school bcuz i recognize them from a while back..once again its such a small world! Can't wait to read your wedding/disneymoon report! :goodvibes
