We Couldn't Stay Away...A January/February 2012 PTR--TR LINK UP 2/8

Ahh I wish, we're there January 4-11. So by the time you go, I will be very ready to hear all about it

I've never heard of the place in the Swan and Dolphin but Italian food is always good in my book. I really like CHH too, I have to go with Chris on the tuna sandwich...I love the bread!

Oh mannnn :headache: Our original dates (Jan. 2-6) would have had us overlapping!

I might have to go with the tuna sandwich at CHH this time...try and ween myself off of the fried food there

I'm here!! I tried to join the other day and it didnt work! But Im here now! Hopefully i'll be able to get on here more and keep up! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear all about it!

Another small update before I move on to more CS favorites...I booked our flights! I checked a bunch of different airlines and like usual, Southwest had the cheapest flight for us to leave Long Island. It was only $89 each!! We leave at 7:00 am on January 31st and should land in Orlando before 10! I love taking the first flight of the morning, even if that means we have to wake up super early  I had a weird dream last night though that even though I checked us in for the flight right at the 24 hours early mark, we were in boarding group M. There aren't even that many boarding groups! :rotfl: I was all mad in the dream that Chris and I weren't going to get to sit next to each other and vowed I'd never fly Southwest again :rotfl2:

Anyway, I was shocked to find that the flight home from Orlando on Southwest was $120 for the time we wanted  After looking around more, JetBlue had a flight at a better time for only $84! And JB gives you one bag each free, unlike Delta which was the other option because they had a cheap flight too. So, our flight leaves MCO at 3:40 pm on February 4th and we will land in LaGuardia in NYC at 6ish. Early enough that Chris will have time to get a good night's sleep (he has to work the following day, February 5th) but not so early that we'll have no park time that day. I figure we can sleep a little late and hit up whatever park we want to go back to for a few hours before we head to the airport!

Buying airline tickets always make the trip seem more real! It's 100% official now, no turning back!!
:banana::yay::woohoo:

YAY you got your plane tickets !!! that's great!!!

I'm SO excited for you!!!

Just wanted to chime in about CS food.... because we go to disney ALL the time, we don't always eat at a ton of TS places... and we're perfectly fine with that! Don't get me wrong, we go to some, and enjoy it fully but we love the CS as well!! :) I don't know why it gets such a bad wrap.... LOL

We're going sometime in February, too! My cousin is meeting us... maybe I can FINALLY work somethin out where I can meet you!!

Congrats on everything!!

Hey pretty lady! I'm so happy we got our plane tickets, now I know there's no turning back! haha

We really enjoy Disney food, period whether it's CS or TS so we're not upset at all about having to do all CS meals! I'm glad to hear you guys enjoy it too!

Ahhhhhh, that'd be awesome if we could finally meet up!! Try your hardest!! Thanks chica :goodvibes

Kristen- We loved Columbia harbour hse we went there quite a few times in August! The fried shrimp was great and the salmon was really good too! My DS loved the chicken BLT salad.

I hear the CS Spagetti bar at POR is really good I didn't get to try it but I think tammy did this past trip . Did you ever try Wolf Gang puck Express? If not and your in DTD definitely try it you will not be disappointed :)

Hi deary! Oh my goodness, my mouth is watering thinking about that Italian restaurant at the Swan! I cannot wait to hear about your experience there.

Oh my goodness, we need to go to Beaches 'n Cream together us 4. I think we could share one of those bad boys!

I keep forgetting Capt. Cook's has tonga toast!! That will be a good thing to remember for our trip!

Wahhhhh..your last two..CHH will always hold a special place in my heart now. You'll have to be on the lookout for our friend. I can't remember when she said she was retiring, do you? And dole whips! That table in Adventureland will also always hold a special place in my heart.

Joining in. I am enjoying your PTR and loving the pictures of the food. :thumbsup2 I am from Long Island as well. I hope you are doing a PTR of your honeymoon and will add things about your wedding to it. Love reading reports about weddings especially when I will know the places. :lmao: Hope your planning is going well. Good luck with student teaching. I did student teaching a few years ago and loved it.

Yummm, salmon?! I've never had that at CHH but I think you may have just picked my next meal from there :thumbsup2

Chris and I have tried WPE but the one that is in the West Side and we didn't have a great experience. The one in the Marketplace has always been so crowded but I'm thinking this trip with the low crowds might be the time to go because I've heard soooo many good things. Thanks lady :)

Hey girlie!! I hope that Italian restaurant is good!

Oh boy, we'd definitely be getting a Kitchen Sink if the 4 of us went to WDW together. We can put that on the list for our 2013 trip lol It's the best thing that CC has Tonga Toast. Cheap, yet delicious

Awww, CHH is so special to us too. We always look over at the table we sat at in the "VIP section". I don't remember when that lady said she was retiring :( I'm craving a dole whip! You know what I heard though? That they're demolishing that part of Adventureland! At least I think that's what area they were talking about. I'd be so saddddddd!

Welcome and thanks for joining in! I love getting other Long Islanders on my reports lol I'm definitely doing some type of wedding/honeymoon PTR. I've been indecisive as to whether I'll start incorportaing it into this report or start a new one but I definitely am doing one! What area of LI are you from?

I'm enjoying my student teaching experience! Are you a teacher still?

I live in Merrick, Nassau County. How about you? I did subbing for awhile which turned into leave replacements but in this economy it is hard.

Well whether you do the wedding/honeymoon PTR here or another one make sure you let me know. I would love to read it. :)

Oh ok, I'm out in Shirley in Suffolk. This economy is really rough for teachers, a big reason why Chris and I are moving to FL after we get married. There's not jobs here for teachers :sad2:

I will definitely let you know what I decide with a honeymoon PTR! I'll either post it here or you'll see it haha :thumbsup2

Kristen- Definitely try the salmon :) I'm glad I could help . Also WPE on the marketplace side the food was amazing and worth the wait no joke :) although the first time we didn't wait the line was out the door I was determined to try there this time and finally we hit there at a time it wasn't so bad but I must say the line seemed to move so it wasn't as long a wait as it may have seemed from a glance at the line :) BTW it looks like we will be making it in December if not our trip wouldve overed lapped the end of yours in Feb but I paid it off today now I just need someone to pick up DD from work at 10pm when im not here LOL! She doesnt drive yet because she's lazy lol! She just turned 17 in Sept and doesn't have her permit yet! LOL She's in no rush and the best part is I keep asking her! She wants it but I guess it's too much effort! LOl ,what a kid :)Last year she couldnt wait !ohh boy kids

Yay I'm really excited to try WPE! It gets such good reviews and I've seen some food porn that looks gooooooood :thumbsup2

Oh man I would have loved to meet up again but I wouldn't have been able to pass up a December trip either! I can't wait to be there again for Christmas! I'm hoping that at the end of my honeymoon next year I will start to see Christmas decorations go up! :santa:

Oh man, I've heard of a lot of kids like that, being that I'm student teaching 11th graders! I can't imagine!! I took my permit test 2 days after I turned 16 and then my road test less than 6 months later. Driver's ed was over 2 days before I turned 17 so on my 17th birthday I had a full license! She needs to get on that

Hey everyone! Happy almost weekend! Hope your week has gone well :goodvibes

I kept meaning to post this since Tuesday! Our flight down to FL went down in price! By $24! So now it is only $65 to fly down on SW...I've never in all my trips to FL seen it so low  Anyone flying from the end of Nov through mid Dec or mid Jan through mid Feb should check it out! Luckily, SW doesn't charge change fees on their flights so we currently have $48 in SW credit :yay: We're planning on using that when we go to tinkgurl's wedding in August :woohoo:

Question for everyone: I'm planning on writing a wedding/Disneymoon PTR...should I write a whole other PTR on a different thread or should I just incorporate it into this PTR? What do you all think? I want your opinions, people!! :goodvibes:laughing:

Joining in!

About your question, I think you should do it all in one thread. It's easier that way for you and for us following it. You could just use different color fonts depending on what you're talking about.

I did a whole 4 in 1 in my PTR : PTR to my Disneymoon, PTR to my wedding, TR of my wedding in Cuba, and TR of a trip to Disney I had taken 2 years before and had never written a TR for! I just used 4 different colors. Link is in my signature.

Don't you just looooove Southwest?! I DO! ;)

Speaking of "I do's!"... I seriously can't believe yall have less than a year left to go!! I'm so excited for you & Chris!

Isn't there a whole section devoted to Disney Weddings and stuff? Or is that JUST for people getting married at Disney World?

Either way, I'd probably start a new one. Only because I'd want that in it's own special thread.

But keeping it with this one wouldn't be a bad idea at all either.

Ahhh, I'm no help am I?

I actually wrote a report in the wedding section in 2008 when I got married. It wasn't a Disney wedding but I figured I could write one since I was having a Disney honeymoon. :thumbsup2

WOW that flight went down low! Awesome that you have that credit to put towards getting to tink's wedding too :thumbsup2

It might be easier to keep it all in one thread, but it would be nice to have your own little thread devoted to your wedding and Disneymoon planning. I am so excited to read about that, too!
