We can do it! -Disney bride weight loss group

Joan - don't weigh yourself after you eat... it's not a true weight... and it only makes you feel worse. Everyone slips. We're supposed to... otherwise desserts wouldn't taste so good. What matters is that it doesn't become an everyday event.

I'm a little concerned about working out and eating right while in FL this coming week, but I have my Buff Brides book with me and we are bringing down a couple of dumbbells with me (not just my DF - HA HA!! :rotfl: Just kidding). I plan on working out while I'm there... hopefully, with the crazy schedule we are keeping, I can stick to that... even if it's only a couple of days, I"ll be happy. ;)

Well girls, only 4 more hours till I'm outta' here!!!! :cool1: :woohoo: Can't wait till we're on the road!! Talk to you after we get back and I will definitely share our experiences with everyone!!!

Later gator!!

Have a BLAST!!!!!!!!!!! And take notes for those of us who are 7 months behind you so we know what's coming up ;)

On a side note, I heard the whole weigh yourself in the morning after you go to the bathroom thing too, so that's what I always do. It's still depressing, though!

H- where are you staying - I felt the same way , I had just lost 8 pounds when we went in April... We stayed at Wilderness and to be honest they had GREAT food! I used the gym there everyday.. and for breakfast I would have ceral, and lunch I ate a grilled veggie sandwich on wheat with hummus! YUM who knew Disney revamped menus! :cool1:

We went to Sci Fi Diner and I ate salad - and I ate a broth soup before a meal any time it was available... try little tricks like that and WALK WALK WALK around the parks :)
Youll be fine! :cheer2:

Hey Kit!! Thanks for the advice... the one saving grace I have this trip is that we are staying with my DF's parents who live right in Kissimmee. THey are literally about 1 mile outside the main gates of the park, so, we can go in whenever we like, but I am not stuck eating park food. We are going into the parks one day to take pics holding a white posterboard in front of our 14 favorite rides/attractions. We are going to put table numbers on them and use them as our table names. Saw someone else on here do that and LOVED the idea. Otherwise, we are having our planning session on Tuesday and our tasting session... yummmmmmm :goodvibes We have to meet with our Pastor (local) while we are there AND we are getting our engagement pics taken while we are there, with Randy CHapman!!! :woohoo: I am sooooooo excited about meeting him and taking some real pics!!!! I can't wait!!!!! Hopefully, I can figure out how to blow out my hair... I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it. If not, I'm bringing my flat iron. I'm just so excited for everything to be coming together. I can't believe it's only 4 months till we get married!!! :cheer2:

OK - I'm calm. Only 2 hours and 45 mins left till we leave... but hey, who's counting? ;)

Yep, I read in an old Richard Simmons' book to weigh yourself in the morning. Definitely don't weigh yourself several times throughout the day!!!!! I did that one day. It was frustrating and weird that the scale would change so much! I don't know if it was me or the scale!!! But, I always weighed myself in the morning, once a week, and wrote it on a list. I still have it from the last time I did WW. Mind you, I didn't go to meetings and i didn't pay. I just used the materials and my own mindset to do it!!! Now, <sigh>, I have to get going again. You gals are helping but I'm just not quite ready yet to start dieting. I'd like to hear about Buff Brides. What is it -- diet and workout plan or what? Thanks.

I have to post this....as I'm sitting here finishing my post, my horoscope popped up. Any of you Cancers out there? "It's normal to feel envious of someone who's experiencing a huge success. However, you can use this moment for positive reinforcement. What the universe has done for others it can do for you, and then some."

I just wish I had the motivation that you have right now, and I wish I was going to WDW like HappyLaLaGirl! We've been talking about going, but I am waiting for the engagement ring and date. I had hoped to do a site visit in August, but DBF wants to go other places. I told him I'd skip the site visit and travel elsewhere, as long as we can agree where we want it without the visit. Well here we are within a year of our unofficial date, and I still haven't called DFTW. (I THINK he ordered the planning kit for me though - maybe he's waiting for it to arrive).

I'm taking the weekend off from working out, but I'll make sure to watch what I eat. If I go out to a restaurant I'll resist the urge to finish my plate. :teeth:
Good luck this weekend everyone! :cheer2:

PS. I think I better get Buff Brides too.

I ordered Buff Brides and the Weight Watchers Cookbook from Amazon this weekend. I hope that I will get some ideas to keep my workouts interesting. I really need to start building some muscle in addition to all the cardio I've been doing these past few weeks! With the books I ordered, the workout clothes I bought and the gym membership, at least my wallet is getting lighter! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I felt much much better after working out this morning in spite of my pizza and cannoli "relapse" last night. Woohoo!! :cheer2: You're all making sense - it's not a good idea to weigh myself constantly. But I can't help it; I'm obsessed!

Thank you all for keeping me motivated!

I don't even own a scale! :rotfl: I seriously think that weighing myself has all kinds of variables, like water weight, an time of day, or if I ate a big meal...etc. That's why I just judge my weight loss on how my clothes feel on me. :)

Have a great day everyone!

You have that urge too :rotfl: It is my mothers fault although she loves me :goodvibes I took home 1/2 my entree last night but I still got too full! DH and I shared an appetizer, salad and entree and we both were too full

I will be a vow renewal bride in 2008 and I hope that is enough time to both lose 25 pounds and keep it off  It is a challenge to lose weight at 45!!

Hi girls!!! Hope you all had great weekends. :) I started the Biggest Loser workout DVD yesterday. You're supposed to do it 6 days a week for 6 weeks. It starts with "low impact cardio" as a warmup weeks 1-3 routine, and OH MY GOSH!!! I thought I was going to keel over after that first 1/2 hour! Anyway, hope I can see some improvement. Hope you girls are doing well too! :)

I am getting married May'07 and I just graduated college. I am working as a receptionist from 8-5pm. I thought at first how would I get a work out in between all of this and this is what I am doing:

Tues & Thursday
6:15-7AM I work out.

At 9:30 i have a break and I eat a fruit (banana or peach)

11:45 Lunch
A lunchable with water (NOTHING ELSE)

2:30 BREAK
I have chex mix or cherrios (Special K)

6PM
a meat - protein and veggies. NO BREAD!!!!!!

I will continue to do this until NOVEMBER- November is my 6month mark.
At 6 Months I will try and work out EVERY MORNING-

My motivation is - This is my wedding.. I only get married once and waking up soooo early is soooo hard for me (since being in college my classes don't start until 11PM or later) BUT IT IS WORTH IT. I want to look beautiful after my wedding - I will sleep in and try something different. But as of right now, i will suffer because it is the only. I am 5'5 and I weight 125lbs. I have lost 10lbs. I feeel great and after waking up so early for a week it doesn't bother me anymore. So GIRLS- YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!! -

Sounds like a great schedule and diet! :) But be careful with those "lunchables" some of them have those butter crackers, and fatty cheeses, and meats in them. So tasty, but deadly. :rotfl: Although, I think they started to make more adult lunchables with some healthy things in them....right? Anyway, congratulations on your wedding, and good luck! :cheer2:

The lunchables work because they are less in calories/carbs ect in comparison to the weight watchers/ lean cuisines ect. It is not much food either which helps you to get used to the idea of eat smaller proportions. It's RITZ crackers - sharp cheddar and the ham is good. Plus i get cookies! Perfect balance

That's good that it's less calories, I love finding low calorie items, but it might be better for your body to have something that has more nutritional value. A veggie sandwich on low calorie bread might be super filling, and maybe just as many calories as those crackers... and better for you too. You don't have to take my advice, but us Disney brides gotta stick up for each other. :goodvibes

Yes, i agree with you 100%. And Check note.. I went to the grocery store and I was WRONG. Lunchable are more in calories so I decided to go with "Smart One" 140 calories. :) Alot better, I can't wait to see how I do now. I mean, I was doing the lunchable thing for a long time and lost 10lbs... now that I am eating less calories.. I should see even a bigger change. My goal weight is 115lbs.

Hey Guys
this whole weigh yourself in the morning, once a week would probably be a bigger challenge than the diet itself :rotfl: i don't know why i am so addicted if anyone could see me they would laugh i get on a million times a day :confused3 i guess i just feel that every hour that goes by i should lose more weight :lmao: anyway, i started walking 2 miles today instead of 1 mile :woohoo: this is my 8th day of the diet and i lost 4lbs!! so i guess thats good, i will take anything i can get right now!! :Pinkbounc hope you girls are all doing well and staying motivated :cheer2: just think how good everyone will look on their big day :goodvibes :cool1: can't wait!!! :goodvibes how is everyone doing??
