...HOME OWNERS!!!!

Wow!!

Closing went just fine this morning. No surprises at all, very smooth actually. DH got the keys (I had to go to class) so we can now get *into* our house whenever we want.

Went by tonight and started putting out the shelf paper and sprayed bug poison on the yard then fumigated inside as we left. That way there won't be any bugs to come home to.

I still can't believe it. I am so totally exhausted right now, though, and I didn't even have the hard part.

Worst three parts of the day: getting a checker at the bank who was new and had no idea what she was doing so that taking twice as long as expected (no big deal), the drive (THANK YOU DH!!! I would not have been in any shape to sign anything if I'd had to drive in that traffic... of course the closing office was a good 40 minutes' drive on the other side of town ), and then DH having to wait practically an hour to get the keys, then getting stuck in a horrible traffic jam on the way to work. All in all, since those were the worst parts of the day, it was an excellent day!!!

I still can't believe we own a house. Now tomorrow I get to get everything switched over to our name.

I'm so excited!!

(And yes, we will be having a DIS meet at the house at some point before the end of the year. Probably in either Oct or Nov after we get settled in. Details will be coming later. )

Deena -- our apartment is in Pearland! Gina is also in Pearland. Our new house is in League City. So no, you won't have far to go.
