We had some cousins come in from Japan last week and the kids (15 & 13) wanted to go to WDW. We live in Atlanta and are crazy about Disney. We love it so much that we have annual passes and have already made 4 trips since New Years and have 4 more planned before the AP's expire. Anyway the parents of our cousins didn't want to spend the money nor time to drive (~7 hrs) and visit WDW since they were only going to be here 2 weeks (dad only 1 week) and they had to spend a fortune to fly here already. We offered to take the kids for a weekend after the dad left leaving the mom (my mom's niece) with my parents. They didn't decide that they did want to do this until 7/21. The trip was planned for 7/24 & 25. Anyway we made our reservations via Priceline and got a good deal for 2 rooms. I didn't take any days off from work so we left after work on Friday 4:30p arrived at hotel around 12:30a (traffic and slow check-in) went to MK from 9-7 on Sat and DS from 9-6 on Sun. We pulled out of the DS lot at 6p and got home around 12:45a. I did manage to make it to work on Monday although a bit tired! If that is not crazy enough here is the real kicker. There were 7 of us all in my MPV van: My wife and I, our 3 kids: 9yo, 6yo (with Type I diabetes) and 5 week old, and our 2 cousins who are 15 & 13 and don't speak any English and I don't speak Japanese!
As always we had a great time and as far as I can tell so did our cousins. The 5 week old did amazingly well and my wife was finally able to ride RnRC, ToT, SpMtn & SplshMtn again! My 6yo was finally tall enough for Space (with 2 inch platform slippers). She loved it and looks forward to Mission Space on the next trip which was already planned for Labor day.
