:yay: We have booked a ten night stay at the fort. We have requested a premium site in the 300 loop. The last time we stayed we got site 333, in the corner of the loop. It was nice. My sister and her husband are coming along but staying at another hotel @ WDW. They will get us the Military discount tickets... What a deal..!!!:cool1:
We will be staying from May 17th thru the 27th....

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you! We will be there a week later so we won't be able to meet, but I'll envy you while you are there (while driving myself crazy getting ready for my own trip).

Please, report back on your trip. We are staying in cabins this time, but DH and I look forward to a time when we can go without kids (and therefore stay at a campsite). Our first vacation was to the campgrounds at the Fort so they hold special memories and good times for us.

Good luck with your trip and I hope you build many fond memories.

Welcome to the Disboards!

The 300 loop is designated as a preferred loop, not a premium loop.

The current premium loops are 400, 500, 600, 800, 1200 and 1300. 1400 is being converted from preferred to premium at this time, and should be done by the some time in March. The loops yet to be converted are 700, 900, 1000 and 1100; these four will also become premium loops.

300 is not going to be converted from preferred to premium, so if you have reserved a premium site, asking to be placed in the 300 loop is not going to work for you.

If you are going to keep you ressie Premium, and you want a Pet loop, and you want to be close to the dog park, and you like the sounds from the marina, and you want to be within reasonable walking distance to the trading posts and campfire and Hoop and dock then I highly recommend loop 500! I found the sites to be spacious and shady, with a convenient comfort station, and nicely central to all the action. That's my vote.

Ahh ok thank you for the information. I will call back and request the 500 loop. I see on the map that is right across from the 300 loop anyway.;) FYI we plan on bringing our Golf Car, anything new I should know about bringing a Cart the the Fort?

Your cart has to have front and rear lights, and a windshield.....im not sure how strict they are on the windshield, but Ive heard stories about lights.

Just that all the rules that apply to rental carts also apply to you. You can read the cart rules in the FAQ (sticky at the top of forum topics). And that you have to have front and rear lights. There is a charging post at the front of the campsite to plug in to, and also at certain parking areas (I'll let someone else fill in the specifics here). Can't think of anything else.

Oh NO! Can anyone else confirm the windshield requirement? A windshield would ruin my plans for a sleigh cart! Does it have to have a roof too? DOH!

I can see it now, I spend months of time and hundreds of dollars to whip up my dream sleigh cart, and as ol Shanta is making his first loop he's pulled over by Mean Gene and booted for the rest of his stay!

Great thank you for the link to the Golf Cart page. I was wondering why No Pets are allowed? Is that just for people who rent the carts? I don't see why I can not have my two little dogs ride along in my own cart?

It says no pets, but someone I may know lets her pups ride on her cart and no CM has ever said anything. :rolleyes1

Also with the new dogpark they will let you ride there with your pup. :thumbsup2

From what I hear, they allow leashed dogs on carts now.

Yup - they changed that rule when the dog park went in. It just hasn't officially made it to all the "paperwork" yet.

Our little lunatic very much loved her morning GC ride to the dog park with Dad. :)

Great thanks for clearing that up. I did not think it was going to be a big deal.:)

I dont use my roof Shan....and I have a feeling that any cast member would be so amazed to see Santa in his Sleigh, that they wouldnt even notice a lack of a windshield..and if by chance they DID hassle you about it...just whip out the "naughty list" and write down his name (they all wear name tags)...nobody wants to piss in Santa's cornflakes.

:cool1: We plan on bringing our golf cart, which has a roof and windshield - but no front or rear lights. It does, however, have reflectors on the back and a spot light on the side bar that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Will we really get pulled over?? :scared1: My husband has looked forward to having his own cart there all year!!! Will we have to install lights? It's a MINT 1987 Yamaha gas golf cart - white with flames on the side, fancy hub caps and fancy steering wheel, etc. His pride and joy!
