BCV from 05-07 to 05-14, then one night at POP before flying home.

Cast:
Me, Disney nut, with so many trips that I have lost count!

DH, another Disney nut, but not as bad as me! With a lot of trips also.

Our friends from SC, Scott and Harriett, also DVC members with just a few trips under their belt!

Magical Express:
We arrive Saturday, May 7th
8:36 we were at the gate (a B concourse gate)
9:00 we were in line for the bus on the A concourse
9:12 we were loaded on a bus that was destined for: BCV, ASmo, and AKL.
9:34 the bus pulled away from the airport loading area
10:36 we were in line for check-in at the BCV. We were the last of the three stops.

BCV: our room was of course not ready yet, but a wonderful CM checked us in, she said “welcome home” :flower: and showed me what our view was (pool). I mentioned that we had guests checking in later that day and she made sure they were in the system for me (they were) and printed out their key cards also. Then I mentioned that they would be moving into their own studio on Monday, was it possible to have our rooms close so they could use the full kitchen and the W/D? She looked in the computer, and the ajoining studio was becoming available on Monday, so she was able to block that room so that our rooms made a two bedroom. This worked out great! We then headed to MGM where we had lunch. After lunch we called and the room was ready! It was 1pm at this point. So, we headed back to room 358. By the time we arrived back at BCV our luggage from ME had arrived and the bell hop brought all the luggage together to our room (carry on and checked luggage). I was trilled with this room. It was the last one bedroom before the pool elevator, which made getting to the pool easy and easy access to the parking lot (our friends drove). The room was in great shape, not a single problem and it had a full length balcony from the bedroom to the living room (I wish all one bedrooms had this long balcony!)

Ok, now what we did!

Sat: arrival day! We went to MGM to get our AP and eat lunch. What a mistake getting the AP at MGM was. We have always just walked to the back gate of EPCOT and that is what DH wanted to do this time, but I thought it was a waste of time, just go over to MGM and get them. WRONG! The line at MGM was long and took us about 50 min to get our AP. BUMMER! The plan was to go to Starring Rolls and have Cobb Salads, but to our disappointment Starring Rolls no longer has them on the menu, so we decied to bite the bullet and headed over to BD where we were seated within 10 min. The salads were wonderful as always, I was just trying to save a buck and have them at Starring Rolls!
After getting into the room, we both took naps until our friends arrived from SC. We had to leave our house at 4 am, so a nap was needed to get our energy back!
Once our friends arrived and got settled, we headed out for dinner at an off site Mexican place our friends love, the grocery store and the liquor store. After that trip we went to the pool and hot tub to relax.

Sunday: Blizzard Beach: We had a blast a BB, spent from 11 am to 4 pm and it was a great day, no long waits for rides and no trouble finding chairs together. We did get a refillable mug, and loved the large size and scanning of the date, wonder why they don’t use the same mugs and scanner at the resorts?
After BB we headed over to EPCOT for fish and chips. Then we hopped on a boat to MGM for late EMH. This was our first evening EMH and it worked out great for us. We started at the bar in 50’s Prime Time and each couple shared an appetizer and we all had a drink. Then we headed to RNR and ToT, neither of which had a line. (may have ridden RNR more than once, do not remember). It was before 9pm still, or just after while we were riding both of them, because I remember thinking that once Fantasmic was over, the lines might get longer. We then headed over to The Little Mermaid. Once that was over we went back over to the restaurants by RNR and ToT to get a snack. Then we headed over to Muppets 3D. There was virtually no one over on this side of the park! We also played in the arcade for a few min. By now it was 11 pm and we were all ready to call it a day!

Monday: This was our Drink Around the World day! I have wanted to complete a DATW since the last DIS CON where we were rained out during DATW. Last May I was sick on the designated DATW day, so I missed it. It had to be early in the trip so I could accomplish this long term goal!!! LOL :drinking1
So, the rules were we had to drink something in each country, even if it was shared with a partner. My DH does not drink, but he came along for the eating and fun! So, there were three of us drinking, me, Scott and his wife Harriett.

Mexico: I had a Fiesta Margarita and shared with Harriett, Scott had a DOS XX. No food in Mexico.

Norway: we shared a Viking Coffee with Kaluha and Baily’s Irish Cream. We ate a couple open faced sandwiches also.

China: I had a Chinese wine and Scott and Harriett shared a Chinese beer. We shared egg rolls and S & H had a child’s serving of fried rice with an egg roll.

Germany: I had a glass of Riesling wine and S & H shared a Lowenbrau beer. We all shared two bratwurst sandwiches.

Italy: I had Rosa Regale wine and S&H shared a Pironi beer. My DH and I shared a tiramisu here, it was WONDERFUL!

USA: We all three shared a Bud Light. No food!

Japan: We went up to the bar in the restaurant, sat down and had sushi, tempura and drinks. I had a Ayame ( this had Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Midori and cranberry juice) and S & H each had a Ishiban, a Japanese beer.

Morocco: H and I each had a tangerine daquri and Scott had a Bud Light. H and I should have shared the daquri! But, too late, they were already ordered! I also had an order of hummus and pita (which was not on the menu, but DH was able to order it, I have no idea how much he paid for it, but as tipsy as I was, I bet he would have paid any amount!) LOL

France: We all three shared a very crappy French beer, I did not write down the name, and I cannot repeat (this being a family place and all) what was written on my paper by Scott!

United Kingdom: I had a Welsh Dragon and S & H shared a yard of Guinness. We may have shared some fish and chips here, I am not sure though!!

Last stop Canada: We all three shared a beer, which is not written down on my paper (can you imagine that!) :rolleyes1 but I think it may have been a Mooseport.

At this point H & I headed back to the BCV and S & DH headed to FW to ride TT, MS and Soaring. H & I went to the pool (SAB) and after finding Hurricaine Hannah’s closed, ordered a burger and fries to go from B&C. We split the burger and had a few of the fries, then jumped into the pool for a few min and a squirrel finished our fries for us while we were in the pool! I could not believe it, but he bit a hole in the to go container and just started munching away. So, we called the guys and said the squirrel stole our dinner, come back and take us to dinner! We headed to Pizzaria Uno and had great pizzas. (remember that my DH does not drink, so he was able to drive us!)

Tuesday we were off site at my DH’s mom’s.

Wednesday: We all headed to MK around noon. Ate at CHH and had a great day touring the MK. We also kinda Ate around the Kingdom! We ate lunch at CHH, egg rolls from the cart in Adventureland, hot dogs from Casey’s, ice cream and cookies from the main street bakery, and dinner at Cosmic Ray’s. So, we were eating and eating! It started raining late afternoon and it made for walk ons to many rides and we had an awesome day and evening. S & I stayed til 11pm, H left after dinner and DH stayed til the fireworks.

Thursday: S & I went to TL to try the new water slides out, they were great, but they are the best thing compared to BB, will just stick to BB from now on. After that we all four headed into EPCOT for EMH. It was just before 8pm and we were planning on eating dinner at the new Seasons food court. But, after noticing everyone else in the group was wandering around but not choosing anything, I suggested we go elsewhere and got overwhelming agreement! We do not like the changes to the menu, did not suit us at all. Then I walked up to the Garden Grill, no more seatings for this evening. So, I called WDW-dine and asked for anything in EPCOT and she offered me Italy at 8:45, perfect I took it! We got over to Italy at about 8:30 and checked in, we were seated before 9:00. It was a wonderful meal, none of us had ever eaten there, and agreed we would return. The girls each had a trio dish (three diff things) and the guys each had a filet mignon. We returned back to Soaring after dinner (around 10pm) but the line was still 60 min. We were just about to leave when a wonderful stranger handed us two fast passes. S & DH waited for H and I to ride since they had ridden it on our DATW day. It was AWSOME!! This is now H & I’s favorite ride.

Friday: S & H are leaving today, so we hang out until 11 am when they leave. We then head into EPCOT, meet up with some friends and go to Mexico for a fiesta margarita and a wet burrito for me and a juice for DH. Then we walk to the front, ride SE and we have FP for Soaring. We then head back to clean up for our only pre-made PS for the entire week, Spoodles. I had two sangria’s and we shared three appetizers. The mediterian dips, lamb skewers and a cheese flat bread. Great meal, will go back for the sangria and the dips. We then caught a bus to DD to get our shopping done!

Saturday: We had to change resorts today. Moving to POP was not very smooth. The lines at POP were horrible and my DH said: NEVER AGAIN! So, this is what may have been my last stay at POP, we will see how quickly he forgets. Once he reached the desk, the girl told him if he would take a HA that the room is ready. So, he agreed. But, once she was all done, she said, no, I never said the room was ready. So, he was very irritated about that. Then we walk outside to give our luggage to bellservices and the line is about 40 or 50 people long, so we were very stressed about that. We get into line and a nice gentleman points out that there are two lines, one for ME and the other for guests who are leaving luggage till the room gets ready. WOW, what a relief the line we need to be in is only about 7 or 10 people deep. It still took about 15 min to do this, and I really feel sorry for all the people trying to check in for ME because that line was barely moving.

I wanted to go to MK today to try The Parrot and the Pirate, the times list had it open today from 11 am to 4pm. My DH wanted a Cobb Salad so I made a noon reservation at BD with the hope that the room would be ready after that and we could get into the room before heading to MK. But, after BD, room was not ready, so we rode RNR and ToT and the room was still not ready. What to do, go on to MK, or head to POP with the hope that once there, the room would be ready?? We headed back to POP and called from the house phone, YEA, the room is ready. By now the line for ME is only about 5 people deep and only took us 5 min to get thru the other line for luggage. When we opened the door to the room, the maid was sitting on the bed with the TV on. She jumped up, asked us what else we needed (got more towels since this was HA room) and promptly gave us more towels. I missed seeing her name or I would have called someone, not sure if it was a “legal” break or one she just took!

We then headed over to the MK. Straight back to el P& el P and it was CLOSED!! It was 3:10 pm and I was soooo disappointed. I have always wanted to try this place, but not this trip. The MK was mobbed and after trying to ride some rides, we went over to WL to check it out. I had not been there in years and I was considering booking VWL for a trip in January with my parents. It was a lovely resort, but not my thing so I choose to stay at BWV (SV) in January with my parents instead! Saved some points and my parents love the BWV so it made them happy too. We returned to MK, it was still mobbed so we tried to call WDW-dine and they were “experiencing high call volume” so I walked into Town Hall instead and she found us reservations for dinner at the Kona Café where we had a wonderful last meal at Disney. We shared some sticky wings, shared an entrée with shrimp and scallops then each ordered our own desert (which we should have shared!). I cannot remember what the desert was called but it was heavenly, a macadamia nut pie (similar to pecan pie) with coconut ice cream.

Our flights were at 7:30 am so our ME time was 4:40 am. Don’t be even a min late because our driver was telling people that were walking up at 4:45 that they would have to wait on the next bus. The first family did not listen to him, got on board anyway, but a family that walked up about 4:50 walked back into the lobby after he told them this. We were off a few seconds later!

It was a wonderful relaxing trip that I managed to satisfy one goal on (DATW) but did not meet other goals (spend lots of time at SAB pool, eat all walk up food except for Spoodles and have a Kitchen Sink) Oh well, there is always next year for the other goals!

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!!

Ms. Sparrow aka Allison

Thanks for such a great report. sounds like you had a wonderful time. :sunny:

Wow! What a great report! You certainly gave me lots of ideas for our next trip! :)

Mmm, Banfi Rosa Regale. I thought maybe that was only available at F&W, where it was our favorite beverage. We will have to take some chocolate from the French bakery over to Italy to eat with it next week! Thanks for the detailed report!

What a terrific trip report! Thanks for taking the time to post all the details. I really enjoyed reading it. :)
