Glad to hear you had a great time! It's easy to get caught up in the magic while you're there, and that's what those DVC reps count on to make a sale. Take some time to look at what you purchased, if you have enough points for the size of suite you need and the time of year you'll be travelling. As bubabear pointed out there is a 10 day cancellation period. You mention you came back with a mortgage - I hope they didn't take advantage and get you to purchase more than you could afford. If at some point in time you decide you don't want those points, it may be difficult to resell as anyone who purchases Riviera resale can only use at that resort.
I've been researching DVC for a while now, not sure yet if it's the right choice for us or not, but if we go that route it will be resale first at one of the resorts that were built before Riviera. But if you purchased not knowing anything about it, you can always cancel (the rep will be happy to sell it to you again later if you change your mind...) and take your time to decide what's right for your family.
TUG is a good resource as well to help you decide if DVC or any timeshare is a good plan for you.
I keep hoping the dollar will get better so we could purchase, but who knows when that will happen!
