Hmmm and the future of America is struggling WHY???? Obesity, illiteracy, etc. I remember when my mom would read to me in the car when Dad was driving or we would play games.
This is fine when we are both in the car. However, more often than not, I'm the only adult in the car, so I need to keep my mind and eyes on the road.
If you have any suggestions of what games you could play with an 18 month old, I would really appreciate it, because I've tried everything with him and the only way he is quiet is watching his favorite show.
Very well said ITSA - My kids are healty, they eat right, spend plenty of time outdoors, play soccer, swim, and frankly are rarely in the house in front of the tube or on video games.
They know they are allowed this in the car because, frankly, to them it is probably quite boring to have to drive around to the bank, post office, food store, dry cleaners and all the errands that a mom must do. Not to mention our 10 hour drives to Myrtle Beach every year.
Unfortunately, most kids are babysat by the tv and other electronic paraphernalia. Sometimes, it is abused by the parent, but sometimes, it is a release for the child as well.
Ok off the soapbox -
I'm going swimming in the pool with the kids.
