Hope everyone had a great Christmas! It was a busy couple of days around here. Pretty much our entire family lives in the area so on Christmas Eve we went to my uncle's house and celebrated. Then on Christmas morning we opened our gifts from Santa and went over to my grandma's because she always has breakfast at her place. And then in the afternoon we went over to my cousin's house to celebrate with my dad's side of the family. It was a lot of fun seeing everyone but the only bad thing is now I'm getting a cold. Atleast I still have a week of vacation left.

Anyways, does anybody remember what today is? Anybody?

Then I'll just have to remind you...









ONLY 100 DAYS UNTIL DISNEY WORLD!!!!

Yippee!!! That means tomorrow we'll be in the double digits. haha Can't wait for April. Here are a few of the things I'm looking forward to most:

1. Getting to stay at Kidani Village.
We stayed at the AKL in '08 and loved it so I can't wait to see what Kidani is like, especially after reading some other TRs and seeing Kristen's (xoktenox) pictures!

2. The Backstage Safari Tour.
I love Animal Kingdom so I'm really curious to see some of the behind the scenes magic at the park. Should be a blast!

3. Five whole days in Disney World!!
OK, so to some people that might not sound like a big deal but since our last few trips have been shorter (I know, I'm so deprived ) it'll be nice to have that extra day to spend in the parks. Woo hoo!

4. The Flower and Garden Festival.
Again, on our trip in '08 the F&GF was going on at Epcot and it was so cool seeing all of the topiaries/other displays all over the park. Some of them are amazing!

5. Riding the refurbished Space Mountain.
SM was closed on our August trip so we didn't get to ride it. Even if the refurb isn't all that great I'm still interested to see if there are any changes. It looks like they take your picture on the ride now though!

Can't wait!

I feel you on the excitement on 5 whole days at Disney. It's been ages since I've been on a trip longer than 4 days. 5 days sounds fantastic. Flower and Garden should be fun too.

99 today! Now we're in the double digits, woo hoo. I did have a good Christmas...hopefully you did too. So exciting you are going to the Rose Bowl/Disneyland!

Same here, we used to go for a week at a time but now that we're older it's harder to do with everyone's schedules. So 5 full days will be great along with our travel days since our flight gets there early and leaves late coming home!

I'm going to WDW in February, and I wish it was April, can you image that?
I'm just afraid it is going to be cold.
Anyways, is Cat's new resturant on the Boardwalk-can you make an ADR through WDW or do I need to call the resturant.
I'm trying to convince my dh to take an earlier flight on Wednesday, and possible make a ADR for later in the evening.
I don't want to eat at the Ritz, everything is over priced and the food really isn't that good.

I had our teacher/principal walk in my office last week Monday and tell me she was there to spread her germs, and then she actually sneezed on me. I was so upset last Monday, but luckily I didn't get a cold. Who does that.

Hope you enjoyed your Christmas. It was fun getting to see everyone...it was the first time in years that all of my cousins were there. One of them lives in California and came home this year and my other cousin, the one who is doing one of the PIs in Disney World flew home that night. It was funny because she came in still wearing her WDW work ID.

I am sure we'll really enjoy Kidani. Ahhh I can't wait!

We went once in February and it was kind of chilly. We have home videos of us all wearing jackets and gloves. But then we've also been in Dec. and Jan. and it's been really nice. Hopefully it won't be too bad. And atleast you won't have to worry about crowds.

I'm not sure about the new restaurant but I'm pretty sure you can make ADRs through WDW.

Who knows who I got it from. At first I thought it was just allergies to their cats. Whoa, she actually sneezed on you?! That is crazy!!

Hey everyone! We're officially in the double digits...yay!!!!

No trip updates but yesterday Dad, Claire, and I went to see The Princess and the Frog. I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. I couldn't wait to see another Disney movie in the classic musical style and it definitely didn't disappoint. I won't give anything away in case you haven't seen it but it was a really cute story. The animation was great and the music was pretty catchy too. I've been singing various lines over and over in my head. My favorite is "Down in New Orleans." If you haven't seen it yet I definitely recommend it. There were also previews for Toy Story 3 and the next Disney Nature movie called Oceans. That looks really cool too (I still have to see Earth...).

I also signed up to get reminders to register for the Give a Day, Get a Day program. I think that could be really fun to do. It'll be interesting to see what types of volunteer opportunities they'll have. Chances are we won't be able to do it quick enough to use the ticket in April but hey, that's all the more reason to go back, right? We might (and I say might) go ahead and make a reservation for next December...Dad was asking me yesterday what days I'd want to go if we did. We can't make reservations until 11 months out for Saratoga Springs so we'll have to wait until the end of January. Now I just have to convince some other people to go.

Haha, it's okay. I actually just recently checked your dates too because I couldn't remember! I mean, I know we're during the same week, but I didn't remember exactly. We should be leaving NY on April 3rd. We're driving down so we'll get to Florida on Sunday, April 4th. It's really only about 5 full days in Florida because chances are we'll leave that Saturday. Oh dear, then it means going back to work the following Monday!

Maybe we'll be in the same place at the same time! I hope

I don't know that Weird and I are going to see The Princess and the Frog. I don't know if it's because we're not drawn to the movie or if we just hate movie theaters that much! Haha. I really do NOT like sitting in movie theaters. I can never get comfortable, and I always worry that I'll have to use the bathroom! That's why DVDs are my friends ... love the ability to pause (which we do all the time when Weird and I are watching one because I ALWAYS have to go to the bathroom!). Plus, I have this strange tendency to let my mind wander when watching movies so I miss out on parts. That's why I need subtitles. Reading keeps me focused. Haha, I'm just odd. But anyway, the movie will definitely be one we get on DVD!

I don't really like going to movies either. I might go see a couple a year in the theaters but I'd rather just see them when they come out on DVD. I think I set a record for going to movies this year and I only saw 4 (3 of them being Disney movies ). It's definitely worth getting on DVD when it comes out...you can bet we'll be getting it too.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I can't believe how fast 2009 went. Overall for me it was a good year...lots of fun trips, events, concerts, etc. Oh yes, and it's also been fun reading everyone's PTRs/TRs! YAY for DIS friends! Hopefully 2010 will be a great year too. So if you've got New Year's Eve plans have fun and don't party too hard!

92 days until Disney World, yippee!! (though that is not as soon as my sister who is going in just under 3 weeks. Sigh.)

Totally random update but I was reading beyondblessed's trip report...they were SO LUCKY because they got to stay at the Polynesian. If you've read my previous TRs you probably already know that I am slightly obsessed with the Poly. My family used to always stay there and therefore we have so many memories from there. Because of Nikky's awesome pictures, I've decided that I have to go visit the Polynesian sometime during our trip. Ahhh I just love it there (actually, we all do!)! We've gone back on a couple different occasions...there's just something about walking into the Great Ceremonial House that makes me happy. I'd also like to go out on the grounds of the resort too since we haven't done that in a while.

A couple old pictures from our stays there (that I'm sure I've posted a million times on here but oh well, you get to see them again ).

I love old pictures! I love seeing the outfits! Thankfully, your parents took a ton of pictures during all your Disney trips. My dad rarely took pictures, which is why I took over the camera duties! We'd come back with about 10 pictures at most if he had it. Seriously, they went away on vacation to Virginia without me one year, and they came back with less than 10.

I saw that t-shirt too! I like that they're using more vintage/retro (whatever the proper word is) designs for their shirts. I don't like the new Clubhouse Mickey and Minnie stuff.

haha, I know, some of our other old pictures are pretty amusing. I'm glad we do have a lot of pictures from past trips plus our home videos. It's so fun to look at them/watch the videos! My dad doesn't really take pictures anymore but that's mostly because my sister and I are constantly taking pictures of everything!

I agree, I think the retro stuff is so cute. It's like a blast from the past.

Ohhhh such cute pictures! My parents were the same way, they weren't big on picture taking so I don't have many photos at all. I went once with George (then my boyfriend) almost twenty years ago and didn't take one picture either!

Man, how cool would that have been to look back at those pictures and show them to our kids now? Dang. Well, thankfully I'm reformed and now take hundreds of pictures of everything!
