Well of course some CM's DO ask for the AP. But a lot dont. Either way its not the same as the PIN thing.
and stop with the scare tactics.
Plus in all my trips using the AP rate i've NEVER been asked for my AP even thiugh i have one.
they usually get your AAA number when you book the room. The one time I booked using AAA that's what they did. This pin fiasco is new, but they used to tell you that you had to show it at check in.
I just spoke with my TA and she said that the 40% off code was for selected families only (those who had been notified by postcard, email, etc) and that Disney was going to go back to review everyone reservations who used the code and those who do not have the proper PIN with their name and code they will take the 40% off away from the reservation. So..if you don't have the PIN..looks like you don't get the discount even if you have already made reservations.
Did you ever think that a post might be intended to help those in question and NOT a scate tactic?!?!?
I ALWAYS enjoy Disney w or w/o a "code".
who's giving scare tactics? If everything is on the up and up no one has any reason to be scared whatsoever.
PS> Daisy D - your AAA number would be attached to your reservations record from previous trips I imagine.
this would be sort of on the same lines as booking an AP rate (which you can do without an AP in hand) and then checking in and not having/able to show your AP. WDW would then charge rack rate for the room.
I've never been asked for my AAA when booking a room. I have two trips booked right now using AAA and wasn't asked for the number. I have been asked once at check in to see my AAA card but that was once in 10 trips using the AAA discount.
Because we have been asked by Trekker the moderator NOT to discuss hearsay and speculation. What I don't get is that people who received the code, who know they probably shouldn't have, have posted threads right and left carrying on about how lucky they are. Great! No hard feelings here, I am genuinely happy for you! But then people who post anything negative about what they heard from CM's about this mess, and there are quite a few postings, are blasted and the threads demanded to be closed. I don't get it![]()
Speculation or not, I thought this was a discussion board!??? Discussions go both ways people, and you are not always going to agree with what you read.

there is no need for yelling at me or telling me to myob...this is a public message board...I didn't say anything regarding your use of the code or morals.I stand up and admit it :
I USED THE CODE. I HAVE NO PIN IN THE RECORD OF MY ACCOUNT.I AM NOT FEARFUL OF LOSING MY RESERVATION, NOR DO I CARE IF SOMEONE THINKS I SHOULD BE BECAUSE I'M MORALLY BANKRUPT AND USING THE CODE IMPROPERLY. MYOB!
uhh i was not yelling at YOU personally - i was jokingly standing up and yellling like in the old commercials "I'M MAD AS H@@@ AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!!"
SORRY YOU DIDNT GET IT.
