WDW "Vacation A Day" Contest!

Congrats to all the winners - about time we had some around here. I also think it is funny that we had no winners for weeks and now so many in just a few days. Makes me wonder if they are notifying folks in groups.......and maybe (hopefully) running behind schedule.:bitelip:

Hopefully!! :thumbsup2

Okay people, talk me down!

Came home today to a FedEx door tag saying I had a package that couldn't be delivered without my signature. They will try again tomorrow. We aren't expecting anything so I tracked it, and it's coming from Orlando! I've been lurking on the boards, so I know Ventura is in NY, and the few winners we're had received emails this year, so chances are this is just a really cruel coincidence right? I'm overly excited, and need some sense talked into me!

Help!

Last year I received a package from DVC that was delivered by FedEx and had to be signed for. Just the standard book, DVD, etc. Not sure why they made such a big deal about it. So brace yourself, that might be what it is.

I've been entering every day and praying I win! Congrats to all the winners so far!!

I got an email from Disney Destinations, and was really excited. It was a confirmation our MB's were shipping out for our trip next month :cool1:

Congrats to all the winners!! How exciting :banana::banana:

Thanks to everyone for all of the congratulatory messages!
None of the correspondence from Ventura stated the date we won for. I entered almost everyday, but I know I missed a day or two here and there. As far as getting a FedEx or UPS package, they actually emailed us the documents to print, get notarized, and return, so no physical package ever came to our door.
I'd love some suggestions as to which hotel you all think would be best for a honeymoon (assuming we get a choice). We've only stayed at the Caribbean Beach and Coronado Springs before.
We're waiting to tell our friends and family until we actually hear from Disney and have some specifics. I'm dying to tell everyone though! It's so exciting!! :cool1:

That is so exciting. You are going to have a wonderful Honeymoon no matter where you stay. I would take a peak at the websites of all the deluxe hotels and see what appeals most to you and your DF. If I were honeymooning at WDW, my first choice would hands down be the Grand Floridian. I think the Beach Club, the Boardwalk, the Wilderness Lodge, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge would also be fun depending on your tastes. We have stayed at the Boardwalk and the Wilderness Lodge previously. Those were both great trips.

Congratulations to all the winners! We have four kids (3 disney "kids" and one "baby" until July). Does anyone know if winners are allowed to pay extra to have a party of 6 (or whatever number more than 4) take the trip? (Not that we're going to win...just wondering ;))

Congrats again! I'm so happy to see some Dis winners!!

Today I entered using a different web browser...I know it shouldn't matter but in my head I'm saying today is the day!

I've been wondering how this works as well since we are a family of 6 also. My guess is that you pay OOP for anything over 4. So, in our case, we'd need to buy two add'l airfares, two more park tickets (unless we could get there before our youngest turns 3) and another room if we needed one. Someone posted that one of the winners last year had four kids and they were offered two value rooms. So while it wouldn't be completely "free", it'd still be a HUGE discount that I would be thrilled to have.

So glad to be seeing winners from the DIS!!! Congrats!!

Just an FYI for fellow Gmail users. A bug may have incorrectly deleted, marked as spam, or moved to the trash certain emails in the past couple of weeks. So be sure to check your spam and trash folders before emptying them!

Gmail users should have received a notification directly from Google, but for anyone interested, here's a news story:

"Thousands of emails have been accidentally deleted due to what's believed to be the second Gmail bug in as many weeks.

The glitch occurred between 15 and 22 January and caused thousands of users to delete the wrong emails, or report other users for spam accidentally.
Google said the bug has now been fixed and is urging people to check their Trash folders for missing emails."

Being that we are a family of 7, we have been discussing what our possible options will be. We have stayed at values and a couple of moderates but have never been able to afford to stay at a Deluxe. So hoping they call soon or that they call one of the other winners and we can find out what the options are!

Definitely post what they tell you about that! I am interested in how they handle big families for these kinds of deals.

I can't imagine how you are being patient. I'd be so hyper and excited! I have sleep issues anyways so I'm pretty sure this kind of news would keep me up for weeks :lmao:

It wouldn't be a fancy deluxe resort, but the family suites at Art of Animation sleep up to 6 people. At least you wouldn't have to pay OOP for an extra room!

That would a great option!!

Have any of the winners had more than one person entering at their house?
Nope just me.

momto3boys+aprincess - thanks for your answer. I am very interested in the other winner's responses as well. We have 3 adults that have been entering daily using different browsers as per the rules, but am worried now that we are somehow being disqualified.

One other thing is my gmail presorts my email into primary, social and promotions. Not sure where it would put it.

What do you mean different browsers? We've been entering daily with our own email addresses, but the same browser on our phone.
