WDW to UNIVERSAL

We will be going to WDW POFQ for 5 nights and then Hard Rock Hotel for 4 nights. We are not renting a car. What would be the best way to get there? Convenience and price are both important. Anyone have some suggestions???

We are facing a similar dilemma in our upcoming trip. We are staying 1 night at HRH then 6 nights AKL. We, too, are looking for the best mode of transportation between Universal to Disney resorts.

Others have posted that a taxi is a pretty good option for around $40. I think this is what my family plans to do, that way we are not tied down to a specific time to leave one place to head to the other (like a towncar).

One other poster said she used a towncar service that allowed her to call them 45 minutes before they wanted to leave. I wasn't able to find out the name of that company, though.

Maybe some other Diser's will post some other options.

We did this in December, but with only 2 people. Our taxi ride from the All-Stars to Royal Pacific cost us $30 with tip. We had a towncar to take us to/from the aiport, but really did not know if we wanted to do Disney for the day and go to Universal at night or leave Disney early and go to Universal for a full day (we have AP's for both parks, so admission didn't matter). It was much easier, I think, to just take the taxi for the same cost. You are running on your own schedule. We could eat a leisurely breakfast and transfer hotels with no problems at all and not have to worry about being in a certain place at a certain time.

I rented a towncar from Mears for $26 plus tip to transfer us from the former DTD Marriott to Hard Rock. I was able to reserve from home and confirm the reservation the day before we moved.

We use Tiffany Towncar for all of our transportation needs.(sounds like a commercial doesn't it ) On our last trip we went from MCO to The Wilderness Lodge, then to the Royal Pacific. Then back to MCO.

We are a party of 5 so we use a van. If I remember right it cost $135 without tips. Our driver was there early for every leg of the trip. The van was nice and clean, as was the driver. He had a tv-dvd system for the kids to watch.

No matter which company you decide to use MAKE SURE YOU CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION SEVERAL TIMES!! Call 1 week before you travel and go over all the info with them making sure it is right. Call again the day before you travel and go over it again. On your way to the resort, or when you get there, take a minute and go over your plans with the driver himself. Make sure he has all your info correct. This way you won't be stranded.

i'd do the taxi, just quoted from tiffany, $145 to do 3 legs, mco to portofino, portofino to bc, then bc to mco
taxi probably ends up cheaper with tiffany i believe $85 for mco-portofino, then bc to mco at end
plus taxi has no set pickup time, do the transfer when you want, we've used tiffany several times, very satisfied clients, but move from universal to wdw would require setting committed pick up 24 hrs in advance, trip is 6/20-6/29 so what if it's hot and we are studio'd out and want to go to bc after late sleep/linger over breakfast and do poolside veg in early afternoon, or change minds and do studio for most of day and then wdw dinner?

anyone know the parking price at Universal, am renting a car cause flying into Jax and staying 3 days in Daytona Beach so will have a car just wondering the parking price.
