WDW to Tampa?

How long does it take to get from WDW to Tampa International Airport? We are going to fly into Tampa and do Busch Gardens for two nights and then drive to WDW for the rest of the week. We were going to fly home from Orlando but it is cheaper to fly home from Tampa. Should we drive back or just pay the extra $30 pp and leave from Orlando?

It has taken me about an hour and 15 minutes to get from WDW to Tampa. Tampa is a big city, so depending on where you are, the time could vary. I find it very easy to drive in that area...everything is pretty well marked. Made the drive last week and went to many different (for me) spots in Tampa and didn't get lost once.
I'm not sure I would drive back to TPA just to save $30 though. I would be very tempted to fly out of MCO at the end of the trip. It also may make a difference, in pricing, as to where you return a rental car to..either TPA or MCO.

It takes about 1 1/2 hours with traffic. I didn't like flying out of TPA. Another advantage of MCO is they have the rental cars on site. TPA's rentals are off site. Also, greater choice and better choice of cars at MCO. Always used the Emerald Isle with National and like MCO's choice and convenience. Just my personal preference. I would pay $30.00 more to be directly in Orlando.

Actually, several rental companies are on-site at TPA. This includes Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, Enterprise and Thrifty.
