Anyone have a suggestions for someone without a car who wants to get from WDW to Miami airport? I couldn't find any trains and prefer not to fly..

Red Coach bus. Uber to their pickup point in Orlando and they drop you off right at Terminal H inside MIA. Nice ride, very comfortable, reasonably priced.

If your airline is at the other end of the airport (American, for example), go up to the 3rd level (you'll be dropped off on level 2 -- Departures) and use the moving walkways.

Thanks Jim. Have you ever used the Miami - WDW route? Do they guarantee on time arrival if you have a plane to catch?

I have not used it myself, but I have two regular riders who uses it all the time specifically for WDW. They go to WDW 4-5 times a year, and I drive them to and from the airport.

I don't know about "guarantees," but they are regularly scheduled buses. My friends have not been late coming back.

Don't cut things too close because Miami is a big airport and everything takes time. What airline are you flying?

Thanks again Jim, I guess we can just arrive the night before & stay at a hotel near MIA airport for a night to play it safe.

Sure. Lots of hotels very close to the airport (and one actually IN the airport). And many of them have airport shuttles.

The other option would be a one day, one-way car rental. The rental car center is adjacent to the airport and connected by a free train.

Depending on the size of your party, that might be the least expensive option.

There IS actually a train option depending on your time constraints and flexibility, the Amtrak 97 Silver Meteor train picks up daily at Kissimmee Station (nearest station to WDW) at 1:26pm and arrives at Miami Station at around 6:30pm assuming there are no delays. You can take the train to Miami the evening prior to your travel day and stay at a Miami airport hotel that night.

Hope this helps!

if you look at the time & drop and pickup points

Red Coach appears to be a better option ... I did not compare cost but AMTRAK has never been known for great prices while RC actually has 3 different levels of service aka price ...

I seem to recall a post recently that said RC had a shuttle pickup in WDW too ..... didn't dig around the website trying to confirm this tho . .

Just FYI, the Miami Amtrak Station is not in the best area in South Florida. It's right on the borderline of a bad area.

When you book at the Red Coach USA website, you can buy a ticket that includes a shuttle ride from your Orlando/Disney World hotel to the their Orlando station.

On a randomly selected day in May (the 19th), the price for a one-way ticket for one person from a Disney Resort to the Miami International Airport is $30 non-refundable. For $6 more, you can get a fully refundable ticket (if canceled at least 3 hours prior to the trip).

Have you ever used the Miami - WDW route?

While I've never actually ridden on a Red Coach bus, I have purchased refundable tickets 2 or 3 times. Each of those trips ended up getting canceled, so I didn't go. I can say that getting refunds from them was super easy. There were no hoops to jump through and I didn't even need to call anyone. It was just entering the confirmation codes and a few clicks.

I know that not the same as actual riding. But, I figure that if it's easy to get a refund, the company is probably reasonably well-run.

Red Coach USA did just add a new route between Orlando and Atlanta. It supposition, but I'd say if they're adding routes, that's another data point that they reasonably well-run.
