DH and I just returned from a trip to Orlando that unfortunately did not include a trip to WDW. :( It was very difficult to see all the signs and the attractions without being able to carve out some time to go. One reason was the $$ of tickets. Can someone fill me in on the numerous places that were selling "reduced" attraction tickets. One day passes were as low as
50.(or so the sign said) Are they legitimate? What's the gimmick if any? :scratchin

One-day passes are never discounted legitimately. Disney doesn't sell them to the ticket discounters for less than the gate price, so they can't sell them for less than what Disney charges. Needless to say, most of the legitimate ticket discounters don't even carry 1-day tickets. If you're seeing them for "as low as $50", then there's a catch. You either have to sit through a timeshare presentation or the tickets were not obtained by the seller in a legitimate manner.

The only other "1-day" discounts that I have seen are the "After 2 PM" and "After 4 PM" tickets that are offered to guests attending meetings and conventions in the area. You have to purchase through a link provided by the sponsors of the meeting/convention/trade show and often have to provide proof that you will be attending in order to make the purchase.

And there are also CMs who sell their comped tickets for extra pocket money. However, that's not a legitimate way to obtain tickets. They are prohibited by Disney from selling those passes but it doesn't stop some people from doing it.

Walt Disney World Ticket Operations does not discount one or two day tickets. The authorized resellers who purchase at wholesale, such as AAA, Undercover Tourist, Maple Leaf Tickets or Official Ticket Center (to name a few) can buy three through ten day tickets at about 90% of Gate price and then they set their own prices. If these stores will sell one or two day thickets they do it as a convenience for their customers but will add a surcharge to cover their administrative costs.

The places that you see offering any one or two day tickets at less than Gate, or offering three through ten day tickets at a deeper than 10% discount are usually either Time Share Promotions or sellers of partially used Park Tickets, which is illegal in Florida.

Thanks for the info. Like I said we weren't able to go anyway due to time constraints. There were numerous places up and down Irlo Bronson that had these signs. I would only buy from disney or undercover myself, but was curious about the legitimacy and the gimmick.
