I always book my Disney trips with the agents at www.yourmagicaljourneys.com I never have to search for discounts. They know about all the codes in advance and always have the discounted rates secured for me before I even know they are out. My last trip I was perfectly happy with the rate I had booked when just a couple months prior to my departure my agent had my package discounted $489! When I travel I always know I have gotten the best deal possible. I would definitely give them a try!

We are using Dreams Unlimited this trip for the first time. Our agent Liz got us great rates both for the resort and airfare, she is available to answer even the silly questions, her emails are so quick!! What an amazing service-they take care of everything-resort and travel arrangements, priority seatings and they have tons of answers to many questions. We could not be happier with DU and will use them again and again. :):)

Hellokitty,

We get paid from the tour company themselves after your travel
has been completed. It doesn't cost anymore to use a travel
agent for a disney trip than it would for you to call disney directly.
I am booking alot now for the Xmas holidays, we don't get paid
until after our clients return. Our disney bookings have really
picked up the last few months. I have just booked my own trip
to the WL for the first week in December. I can't wait, I have
been to Disney many times, and I still get soooo excited.
Have a great weekend everybody

This trip (in June) I even ordered my plane tickets online by myself!!

So now....I do everything myself!!!:)

I have used two different agents here in town, booked myself both through CRO AND Disney's internet site and this time am using DU.

I like DU the best! ;)

I enjoy the planning part of the trip almost as much as the trip itself! I would try to book the trip yourself, simply because the research you do will give you a good start once you arrive at WDW. I sometimes use a travel agent but I have found I am much more prepared for the trips I have planned myself. Good luck whatever you decide to do and have a great trip!

Well, a Travel Agent can help with airlines and last minute re-routings. In my experience, however, I've found that I usually know more about my destination than they do, Disney or otherwise (but I do alot of research in the planning stages!). So, if you can find a Travelgoddess (wish she was in CT, not MI), and want somebody else to do the legwork and you are willing to pay them (now you do pay them for their services through the "ticket fees" that they add to airline tickets now that airlines have stopped paying commissions), then I'd say use a T/A. Do expect to pay more and beware of those whose only Disney knowledge is "well, there's this package, that package, or the other package." I would avoid using AAA for anything other than maps, tourbooks and road service!
