WDW says Heelys not permitted in Parks

Good point. Here's the solution:

You can walk with Heelys. You walk when there's cracks or any other obstacles, you can walk. When there's a stretch of not crowded, smooth pavement, you can skate for a few feet, and stop again before you reach the obstacle.

I think the bottom line would be. Treaat the parks like you would your home. You don't skate/roll around your home, you don't throw trash on the floor of your home, you don't spit on the floor of your home, ect. Don't do it at the parks. And if you do do thoes things in your home. you don't need to go to WDW anyways.

No actually, see I'm not a sue happy person. That's that whole responsibility and accountability thing that most people are missing today...but hey, the same thing could happen to you walking, not watching where you were going, bending down to pick something up or many other ways. If order for the above to happen my daughter would have to be skating uncontrollably and probably pretty quickly which from my experience you really can't do. They are not roller skates and can not get up to the same speeds and such.

Have you ever even been on a pair of Heely's? If you have the slightest inkling of how to use them you can stop yourself from falling or pretty much anything by just putting your toe down.

But hey, by all means, keep going on about this and judging every child who has the audacity to wear them, every parent who has the incomprehensible nerve to buy them (irresponsible people that they are) and every person who may or may not know whether there is a rule about something…
As far as your ingenious quote above...wow...are you a god like pillar or what? Do you go the speed limit everyday...do you completely stop at stop signs...have you never had a piece of paper fly out of your car window…do you follow every single rule all the time, moral rules, legal rules, assumed rules, public rules. First, I wouldn't judge the child because he/she is likely doing whatever it is that their parents are allowing them to do. Inaction is consent as much as saying, "Go ahead sweety, the rules don't apply to our people." As for judging the parents, yep. Because that leads me to your next statement about knowing or not knowing rules. Some people clearly need to have rules spelled out for them because some level of common sense and common courtesty just doesn't seem to occur to them. I think it's a shame that we need every single tiny detailed rule spelled out for those that use the claim "where is it written? where are the rules written?" when something goes wrong and it is as a result of their careless and selfish behavior.

You say you're not litigious. Ok, I accept that, I was hasty in my judgement. But if you're kid does indeed slam into a little one, an elderly person, or into me while I'm carrying my tray of food, you can bet you'd get an earful. And then you'll get your hackles up and start screaming back and making a scene because your precious child could not ever, in any single chance, have any kind of accident whatsoever.

And if Heaven opens it's doors to rule followers, then you can bet those pearly gates will open for me because I can say that YES I do follow rules. Which leads me to the next quote you made:

The official Disney stance on Heeley's was posted here. You choose to not accept them because this particular rule doesn't apply to you. You've made it abundantly clear to the majority here and you are proud of it. I applaud your ability to stick to your convictions.

I think maybe I need to go back through the threads I've posted to point out where I have NUMEROUSLY stated that when I was there last and my daughter had her Heely's on no one ever said anything about there being a rule, and yes I'll state once again for the record so you won't have to go back and look we were approached by CM's, not to say they weren't allowed but to ask where we got them.

The rules apply to everyone, but it is silly and presumptuous to think that they are "common sense" or "you should know". If there is no mention of it to someone how would they "know" that they were doing something wrong? And no before anyone jumps on that in a quote, I am not including things like say…stealing or murder, you know the obvious right from wrong things here… Just because you think something is obvious other people may not.

Not all kids with Heely's are rude or brat, not all parents who dare buy them or let their children wear them are "stupid" or bad. Before you judge, judge yourself...last I knew perfection was pretty hard to come by.

This thread is nutty. I haven't ever seen anybody wearing Heely's in a store/mall/park/or WDW. I also can't believe there are parents who allow their children to roll around the theme parks or frankly even in Walmart. What a stupid idea.

You know there isn't a law/rule stating that I can't take my handbag and swing it around in big circles...There is however a very clear rule on rolling footwear: you can't do it.

When I'm in WDW in November, if I happen to spy a roller, I have NO problem finding a CM to make the kid stop (just like I rat out smokers in a non-smoking areas) or I will just LOUDLY announce how obnoxious it is.

Of course you do. You and Becky can get together and your kids could form a Heely train down main street.

CM's also don't always enforce a lot of rules (pool hopping, refillable mugs, admitting ina child over 2 for free) but that doesn't mean you can do those things. I follow Disney's rules. Especially the ones that are meant to increase the safety and park enjoyment for others.
