Thinking of taking the railroad to Toontown first thing after entering MK.
1) How often does the train come to take you there and how long does it take?
2) We were going to rent a double stroller. Will it fit on the train or is there another place to rent one other than the front gates?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think it takes about 20 minutes to make a full trip around the park. You will have to stop at frontierland first, then to toontown. The first bench in the cars have extra room in front. I think you would be able to put your stroller there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Toontown have a later opening at 10am? If so, then the station won't be open until that time.

Yes, Toontown will not open until 10am.

As an FYI - if you're renting a WDW stroller, what you would do is take the card with your name on it out of the back with you (don't forget ALL of your belongs, too!). Then, when you get off the train at the next stop, they will have strollers waiting there for you that you can use.

So to recap ...

Mickey's Toontown Fair opens 1 hour later than the rest of MK, except under rare circumstances that I'm not aware of. That means it won't help you to take the train there as soon as MK opens.

Strollers that can't be folded up are not permitted on the train. The rental strollers do not fold. If you've already rented one, you'll have to leave it at the station (the station near the MK entrance) and HOPE there are other rental strollers available at the Mickey's Toontown Fair stop. There's no guarantee. I think the better bet would be later in the day, after some strollers might accumulate there, from people who walked to that part of the park and then took their tuckered out little ones onto the train towards the park exit, leaving their rental strollers behind.
