We had planned on going to WDW for spring break but decided against it due to financial reasons.......well, my aunt lives in Tampa and we have decided to go visit her now - I think my DH and I have decided to drive over just for 2days/1night now! I'm so excited!

Here is what we are thinking: My DS (3) is turning 4 on March 24th - so we are going to take advantage of the free ticket and make that our first day - so we are going to get up early, arrive at MK when it opens and purchase 2 day tickets (his being free for one) for me, DH, DS (5), and DS (4). I think that I'm going to "splurge" and get ressies for a Pirates Room at CB....we are going to do MK on day one and AK on day 2.........and probably stick to counter service to save money also.....

I had given up on the idea of WDW for this year and was so very bummed.....I feel like doing a happy dance right now! :cool1:

anyone have any suggestions or comments??

Aw, that's great!! That will be a fun trip, and what a neat thing for your son's bday! The pirate rooms look cute, I know my boys would love them.

So how far is the drive from Tampa?

my aunt said around 1 1/2 hours?

That's not bad. How fun you'll drive to MK that morning. It'll feel like even less than 1.5 hours I bet! :goodvibes

We are surprising both of them with the WDW trip! so I can't wait until we drive through the welcome arch and they figure out what's going on!!

We probably won't check into hotel until we are done at MK - that should be okay right?

They'll probably be on to you before the you hit the arch. My son knows as soon as the billboards start passing by.

If the billboards don't tip them off, the Mickey head power pole on the north side of I-4 will. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS on getting your WDW fix this year! :cheer2:

Congrats! You will have a good time, even for two days! We went for two days in Dec. and just did MK and Epcot. We had a great time. We are going to go for two days in June for dd's b-day, we are trying to decide if we should do MK both days or go to Epcot for one.

We will be there when you are there, we are so excited too!!

A couple tips, since you asked - try to be at the MK by 8:30am. This means being at the TTC by 8am. You'll need to get your tickets, bag checked (stroller?), you can be there for opening but MOST IMPORTANT, get to Fantasyland and do Dumbo, Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan within your first hour. That is a peak season week, so it's imperative for your enjoyment that you get to Fantasyland right away. Then you can do POTC - & FP Buzz if you want to.

Then around 11am or 12pm or so, you can get a CS lunch at MK, or you can leave MK, go to CBR, get checked in & have CS there. Even if your room isn't ready when you check in, you can take the boys to the PIRATE POOL!
We were just at CBR in Sept, that new pool is amazing.

After that nice break at CBR, you can go back to the MK for the Dreams parade at 3pm, or go a bit later, do more rides, and see Wishes at 9pm. (ETA: MK hours/events are identical Tue Mar 24 and Wed Mar 25, 9am-9pm, Dreams, 3pm; Wishes 9pm)
PM if you have any questions!! Congrats!!
