WDW for Couples - Post your questions and suggestions here!!!

Most romantic for DH and me is tough. We think it's all very romantic. If I had to pick it would be just the 2 of us sitting on the beach at BLT watching the Electrical Water Pageant. We did it in December and had the whole beach for just us.

we are one of those old couples!! :lmao:

I have been going since 1973 ( I was 8) after my parents passed away and got married at 19, we decided to honeymoon at wdw. dw was never out of the state much less florida. she was well aware of my addiction and fell in love with the place on the first trip. almost 30 years later, trips together, trips with dd, 15 years of dvc, a dd cast member, we are still in love with the idea and place!!

this September dw and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary!!! I just made our adrs this Saturday and I have something planned everyday. dw knows we are eating at narcoossees but we are also going to be eating at Victoria and alberts! she has no idea, its my anniversary present to her!! she always wanted to eat there but wouldn't let me spend the money. well, Im spending the money!!!

I think a couples forum is a great idea!!!! :thumbsup2

How about a few questions. How many times have you been to Disney World? Disney Cruise? Disneyland? Disney Paris? Hong Kong Disney? Adventures by Disney? Aulani? Favorites? Booked? In the planning stages?

FUN question! Been to Walt Disney World 3 times (as a child in October 1991, for my 23rd bday in April 2006, May 2013 with DFi), and once to Disneyland Parc in Paris (October, 2004).

Don't think we will ever do a Disney cruise because we did not particularly enjoy our cruise last year (not Disney, but we now know we don't like the general concept of the cruise vacation). No desire to go to Asia, so don't think we will ever see the Hong Kong or Tokyo parks. Same goes for Hawaii and Adventures by Disney- just not our style.

My favourite is Florida, but I enjoyed the park in France and would love to visit Disneyland in California!

We are currently planning our honeymoon in Orlando for October 14-28. We have our flights booked, as well as the hotels (first 5 nights at RPR at Universal, last 9 nights at Pop). Still have to buy tickets but they just released WDW park hours for October today :cool1: so planning is now in full swing!

DH and I are both 36. We have been married 11 years. I have been to Disney too many times to count:cool1:
I introduced DH to WDW about 11 years ago. In the past 3 years we have been annual pass holders and it has been amazing. i have stopped telling people who don't get it that we are going to WDW

DH and I have been to WDW approx. 12 times
We have been on 1 DCL.... we are not cruise people but we did enjoy our cruise

I would love to try Disneyland and Aulani!! Maybe a cruise... Who knows? DH and I are supposed to try a cheap cruise next year. We'll see if we enjoy it.

We did our first DCL last year snd thought it was ok. It was only a 3 night and by the time we started figuring things out it was over. We didnt hate it but were not sure we would do it again. Flash forward to the 2015 dates being released and we found a 5 night on the Wonder inside cabin for $440 each and could not pass it up. Last cruise we had a deluxe stateroom with balcony but were never in the room to use it. This time we will have an inside room. Fingers crossed!

Disney World: Over 20 times, only started counting my adult trips.
I'm dying to do anything else Disney, but DH hates flying!
Many more Walt Disney World trips booked, or thinking about planning. :)

Count me (us?!) in! I have been to WDW 8 times, DH has been twice (on our honeymoon and in 2012). DH is on the school calendar and I prefer WDW during slower times of the year, so my mom and I have taken the kids twice, I took DD for her 8th birthday last year and I just went on my first adults only trip for the half marathon weekend in February. We have young kids (DD9 and DS6), but I still consider us a Disney couple because we enjoy dong adult things without our kids during our trips. Also,we went to Alaska last summer with DCL for our 10th anniversary (best thing we've ever done without our kids!)
Our next trip is this July and I'm looking for new things to do as a couple. We love good food but don't really enjoy the super fancy restaurants, we love being really active and will likely have our kid free time in the afternoon and evening. I wish the Epcot Segway tour was still happening, I'd love to take DH on it!

Nice to "meet" you all - I really hope the couples forum happens!!

Nice to meet you, KelseyLaPerle!

I've never heard from the support and it's been... three weeks, I think.

But I don't give up hope!

My DH and I are planning our first "couples only" trip this year. First time without at least one grand child, which is proofing tough for me. I keep looking on here but it seems to be mainly for singles and/or singles looking for singles. I'm all in for a Couples forum.

I personally think that there are 3 Disney's in Orlando. The one I visited as a kid, the one I took my kids to' and the one DH and I go to. Totally different experiences.

Agreed. I went once as a child, twice as a very young adult, once with DFi, and we are going back for our honeymoon. Different experiences depending on my age and who I was with. Can't wait to have kids to bring to WDW :)

DH and I are planning our first couple-only trip for Labor Day weekend, and I couldn't be more excited! This will be our third trip to WDW since 2004. We are staying at the Dolphin because I got a great teacher discount. We fly in early Friday morning (arrive around 9:25) and leave Monday night at 8:05.
I love this thread and need suggestions on best transportation from MCO to my hotel--not too expensive, but as fast as possible ;). Also, ADR help for Friday night. What's a great place for couples?

We love Via Napoli, it is like the pizza we get in Italy! What could be more romantic than a slice of pizza and a pitcher of sangria followed by a stroll around world showcase?. We do it every visit.

That's good to hear! We booked Via Napoli for 7pm. I thought it might be nice in the evening.

I have a question for all of you couples who've been without kids: what are the most romantic lounges? DH and I like to sit in interesting bars/lounges and have cocktails and apps. We are in our 40s, so not really interested in super loud or late night crowds. Just low key wonderfulness:). Thanks.

At the Contemporary Resort's California Grill & Lounge, you can relax over dinner and watch Wishes fireworks show at the nearby MK
