I realize that this is probably not a good time to persue employment at Disney World with unhappy cast members, etc., but my husband is being transferred in his job to Orlando and I want to work at the world. I worked at the Disney Store for nearly a decade before my store was closed. I would prefer doing something other than retail. His transfer won't be happening until October. Any current WDW CM's out there with tips on how to go about applying for a position and how to interview and when? Thanks.

I still want to work for the mouse!

Just go the the Casting Center on Buena Vista Drive (across from DTD) and fill out an application.

I guess we are a better source of information!

Is Universal hiring? Personally, from the people I've spoken with, Universal seems the better place to work.

It's true. I talked to one guy who really wanted to work at WDW, but Universal was better in pay, etc, so he worked at Universal instead. Kind of a hypocrite (I tease him), but he's cool anyway...LOL

Yes, Universal is hiring. Call 407-363-8000(I think, DM can correct me if I'm wrong.) Yes, they do pay more and it really is a nice place to work.

Yes and both parks are looking to fill 2000 positions.

Yep, I heard that too on the radio the other day!

I talked to a couple of people at the RPR and they said that Universal employees gets paid more. They said that Universal takes care of their employees more than Disney. They are very satisfied with their job and their pay.

Since I am moving to Orlando, I am going to apply at Universal.

LOL...and I just got hired to be a front desk receptionist at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Hehehe :teeth:

Does this mean you are going to suddenly transform into one of those Universal bashers now? Don't make me have to "whup your butt." ;)
