I wrote Grand Gatherings at WDW a note after our last trip. We had a few problems and I was very disappointed. To sum it all up quickly we had 9 people in our party, one, my son 18 in a wheelchair. Before we went we made ressies at 2 Grand GAthering events. The illumintaions Dessert Reception and the Meet and Greet at Tony's. Well the Illumintaions was nice but DS was sitting so far up he could not see the stage. I had asked that we sit down close so he could see (Long story but he can't see far). It wasnt so bad but I was disppointed as I hae speicifially told them this on the phone. We were the furthest away from the stage
when I asked if we could be moved I was told the seating is arranged way beofre the event. Ok we let it go and enjoyed the night. The last day of our trip we go to Breakfast at Tonys. Our Grand Gathering of 9 is split up
The wiatress suggests we put the children togeather and the adults together..ummm that will not work. I ask why we are all seperated and am told again seating is done in advance. There are many other parties of 9, 12 even 14 all sitting togeather. There are even some empty tables all set for parties of 10 and 12. I ask for MGR but one never comes...we just eat at 2 tables and again are sad as it was our last day with my family and we could not even eat and enjoy the show togeather. Well I wrote a note and said why we were diappointed and included all the great things (names of wait staff, Aunt Roz was great, etc) they are refunding some of our money. They were interested in our Grand Gathering experience. They were very interested and asked quite a few questions about my son and where he was seated. It seems others have had this problem at the breakfast. The young CM made the comment that he was in a wheelchair and he saw it on our ressies and was quite interested in hearing how they handled the chair and how it was sort of forgotten in the seating accomodations. I was happy. I was happy to see they take the comments to heart. He also assured me that the positive things I noted were passed on!
