Hello All,
I just saw this thread and decided to post. Thank you Sarah for starting this topic.
My son, 4yo, is autistic and has been on a GF/CF diet since October 2005. Recently, due to allergy testing, he's also become Soy Free and Egg Free. Whew!
We've taken many trips to WDW before, but this will be the first time that we visit with the new dietary restrictions. Call me crazy, but my best friend, her son, and my son and I will be at Walt Disney World on the "Magical Beginnings" plan from 8/21/2006 - 8/26/2006. Then, on 8/26/2006, my husband, my son, and I will board the Disney Magic for a 7-Day Western Caribbean Cruise. I AM ON PINS AND NEEDLES. Even though I keep hearing that the folks at WDW are very accomodating to dietary needs (and I would expect this knowing Disney), I am still having a hard time finding specific information about people's experiences at the world while on a Gf/CF diet (and perhaps SF & EF, too

)
I am starting my ADR's this weekend, and will certainly inform them as to his dietary needs. I am also mailing out a package of GF/CF/SF/EF snacks to the All Star Sports Hotel shortly before we leave, so that he has safe alternatives to munch on.
I have also found out the following:

The Itzakadoozie Ice Pop sold throughout the resort is supposedly GF/CF.

Apparently, if you call each theme park directly, they can provide you with at least a GF listing of snacks throughout the park.
I am most concerend with the Counter Service meals that we will have with the Dining Plan part of the Magical Beginnings package. So, does anyone have any specific examples of Counter Service locations where they were successful in obtaining a GF/CF meal without too much hassle?
Any one have experience cruising with Disney on a GF/Cf diet? Any specific snacks that are appropriate or other tips?
My son is so excited to be going on the trip, and we are all so happy to be getting some fun time away from the last year of ups and downs.

I just want him to remain healthy and happy during the trip.
Good luck to all of you planing trips with special needs children!
