I hate the rain! It thunderstormed a lot today while we were at Epcot. Why did something go wrong???? Everything was working out so well. I'm so bored now. I doubt they will present "Wishes", but I'm waiting just in case. We should still be at Epcot.
The rain is supposed to continue into tomorrow, so we will do MGM because most attractions at MGM are indoor. Actually, they all are except for the tram at the Backlot Tour.
Today was different because of mother nature. I've never been to WDW in the rain. Wow! It really stinks being here in the rain! Sucks the fun right outta WDW! Well, for us it did. The rain was heavy at times and there were lots of periods of thunder and lightning.
We woke up around 8:30 a.m. (we are not late risers). After getting dressed, we ate breakfast downstairs at Food 'N' Fun Center. Then we hopped on a monorail to TTC and boarded another monorail to Epcot.
We got to Epcot and went on Spaceship Earth first. Then we went on Universe of Energy, then we went through Wonders of Life Pavilion.
My folks gave me the courage to try Mission:Space. I love astronomy and always wanted to be an astronaut, so this gave me the experience I used to want (now I want to work at SeaWorld with the orcas). Man did I scream! Such g-forces are on that ride. Wait! There are no g-forces on Mission:Space! duh!
Next was Innoventions East. We ate lunch at the Electric Umbrella Restaurant. Next was Innoventions West, the Living Seas, the Land, and the Imagination! Pavilion.
We explored the countries and bought something from every store! Dinner was at L"Originale Alfredo Di Roma Ristorante (or whatever it is!)
Tapestry of Dreams was cancelled I guess because it wasn't showing at 6:30 p.m. I heard a Cast Member say Illuminations was cancelled, so we didn't want to wait around for nothing. So, we left Epcot without seeing Illuminations (which was the whole reason why I came to Epcot!)
Mad on the inside, I sat and watched the rain come down as we left Epcot on the monorail. We took the monorails to the CR.
We got ready for bed and now here I am, sitting on my bed, typing on my laptop while I should still be at Epcot. Oh well.
Tomorrow is supposed to be just as bad, so we are going to MGM where everything is indoor. Bummer. Why on my vacation?
Well, I'm tired. I don't think I'll make it to see "Wishes" if it is still on. Goodnight, from WDW.

I'm NOT havin' fun with ::MickeyMo !
:wave2:

Hi Disneygirl - I know how you feel. Two years ago, it POURED almost every day we were there. Even with rain ponchos we were wet and miserable. :( I hope the weather clears up sooner than the weather person said and the rest of your trip is magical. Maybe you could try Disney Quest. We had lots of fun there & at least you would be dry. :) Let us know how you make out tomorrow.

We have been washed out several times at WDW. Hang in there, the weather is suppose to clear up tomorrow afternoon and MGM is a good park to be at when it's raining. At least we found it to work out pretty good for us. I hope things brighten up for the rest of your trip. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us all.

:) Keep smilin! :)

Well, even in the rain and pouring rain at that, I'd rather be going to MGM in the rain today than to work!!!!

The rain does bother me when events don't take place like Fantasmic! At least Disney waits as long as possible before they cancel.

I'll think happy thoughts for better weather for you.

We have spent more trips than I care to remember in wash-out all day rains. One was in August (a tropical storm the entire 9 days), another in October (yet another tropical storm--3 of the 4 days there), torrential downpours for over 3/4 of the time two years ago during a June vacation, and terribly unseasonable weather last June for 1/2 of the 10 days. . .you just have to make the best of it.

Over the years we have had ONE vacation that was rain free--1993--because there was a drought that year. The next year we experienced the daily cloudbursts, thunder, lightning, etc. Each year since we've seen more and more rain earlier and earlier in the day. Here's hoping the weather is truly cyclical and that will change too!

I know it's a drag--nothing worse than being soaked and then heading into air conditioning--it's hard to remain upbeat while you're there too. Just remember, if you were at the beach, in the mountains, or taking a different vacation--you would have nothing to do in the rain. That's how I view it anyway. Chin-up. . .and here's hoping the rain stops soon (and that we don't have so much of it this year either ;) ) :sunny:

BTW, I forgot to mention, it's rain/snow mix predicted for today in MI--I woke up to 27º temps with a high of around 38-40º. I think you're in a better place right now! :D
