WDW 2016 - what are you most looking forward to?

@HappyGrape BTW great thread! I needed some cheering up with all of the gloomy news lately. I am sure I will completely forget all of the gloom when I am in the thick of it next week at WDW and money is "magically" disappearing on my magic band:)

new & improved Soarin'
Rivers of Light + nighttime safari
Star Wars fireworks at HS
Jedi Training Academy (not new, I know, but my son was totally NOT into Star Wars on our previous visits, so we always skipped it. He's now obsessed!)
dinner @ Citricos (again, not new, but new to us - I've heard such good things)

Being at Disney for a long time (for us) - 12 nights!
Staying at an Epcot resort for the first time (BCV) and getting to return to BLT as well
Rivers of Light
Trying new restaurants
New Star Wars stuff!

I can't wait! I hope they keep the star wars fireworks in October. Exited about all of it but I love AK so much- night time experiences sounds AMAZING!

Star Wars related updates, especially the fireworks and shows (and Jawa Trading).
Animal Kingdom late night Safari/Rivers of Light.
First ever ride on EE and SM (for some reason I've never been on them yet I've been on RNRR and other much faster rollercoasters).
Soarin' (went on it in 2005, couldn't get on it in 2015 due to high demand/wait time)
TS Midway Mania (massive queues during 2015 visit)
Frozen ride (just because of Maelstrom)
Exploring the parks with less stress (more time this visit)
More time in the water parks

Sorry - non Disney, but Universal's Skull Island: Reign of Kong and more time in Harry Potter lands.

My brothers and I are taking my mom to WDW this December and I can't wait to see Disney thru a first-timer's eyes. I'm looking forward to the look on my mom's face when she sees Cinderella's Castle for the first time and having her ride the 'classic' rides that make me love Disney so much ~ Pirates, it's a small world, Jungle Cruise, Carousel of Progress, Mad Tea Party.

There is nothing being delivered in 2016 that has me excited, but I like some of the bigger projects scheduled to be delivered in 2017 and beyond.

Rivers of Light
AK is neck and neck for our fav park with Magic Kingdom, the new night time activities and shows could definitely have us closing our vacations with this evening in the parks instead of Magic Kingdom
DH and I will hopefully get to preview some of it this May prior to our next family trip. Kids are going to be so jealous :)

I've found WDW to get stale in the past so anything changing really excites me..

i'm literally packing the house right now to move to orlando, I would have to say being able to experience things as they open, running out for 1 last ride on things about to close, and being able to just experience things that you can't really plan a vacation around (like short notice events) is what I'm most excited for.. i'm sure that will wear off fast though and then it'll mostly be openings of everything. The next few years are going to be great.

The last time we went to WDW, DS was just shy of turning 3. He was too small to ride a lot of things, and also too young to appreciate a lot of things.

He'll be almost 5 when we go in October, and might even be tall enough for the max height limit of 44". He has grown almost 2" just since his birthday checkup in mid-December.

Also really excited about the new MyMagic+ features, and I'm hoping that Mickey might be able to say names. If he called DS by name, it would blow his mind. pixiedust:

Animal Kingdom at night, especially ROL. It's my fiance's favorite park and we never make it past 1-2 pm there (SO HOT) so I'm excited for a different experience.
The new Frozen ride at Epcot

This December will be only my 2nd trip to WDW, so in all honesty, I'm still excited about just about everything. But highlights --

- Christmas decorations/events in all the parks and resorts
- Being able to enjoy Epcot more. We only had a half-day there last September, and it was miserably humid. I didn't have a good time.
- Rivers of Light
- the new Soarin! The original was one of my favorite rides in all the parks.

Mostly EPCOT on my birthday for Drinks around the World Showcase. Already have our passports! Gonna take it slow and check out all the sweet entertainment.

New Soarin' movie.
My daughter and I are looking forward to check out the new Frozen ride.
Al the Star Wars stuff at HS.
Mickey's Christmas party.

My number one is definitely the new nighttime stuff at AK. I could spend days there as it is so I'm excited to have extended hours and see it all lit up. I am also looking forward to the new show that is replacing "Dream Along with Mickey".
