Must tell you of a good thing that happened Thursday....

I WON....2 tickets on American Airlines for travel in the US48, Caribbean, Bermuda & Mexico :cool1:  :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2:

I can either take someone w/ me....or can take 2 trips by myself

Tropical vacation HERE I COME!!!

Don't think I'll be doing Turks & Caicos - haven't heard how the island fared after the 2 hurricanes went over it.

Thinking of trying for somewhere where I can exchange my timeshare for a nice place....then it won't cost me tooooooooo much :rotfl:
GREAT NEWS!!! How'd you do that? Or it could mean 2 trips to visit Sydney & Ian! :cool1:

Monica, that's exactly what makes this all so hard. He hates himself and says so regularly. It's horrible. But we're hoping for 2 good days in a row because that should help his confidence a bit. Fingers crossed for today!

Let him know that his Disney cruise friends (as you called us :lmao: ) have faith in him, we know he's a good kid, that he doesn't mean to do these things and that he can't control himself.

That's what my sister said too....my response "no" - I'm not going to use this for MD as I can get nonstop flights as low as $177...I want to use those tickets for a higher cost location :lmao:

Our American Airlines rep came into the office & had a drawing for 5 sets and my name was drawn :goodvibes

 Thanks Monica, I've actually done that. He hears everybody telling him that on a regular basis but I don't think he'll believe it until things start getting better for him.

It doesn't surprise me that he's not believing it yet.....and I know he gets positive reinforcement all the time ESPECIALLY from you, but my heart goes out to him (and you too - but you atleast can understand what's happening).

Do I remember reading that he has a dr's appt this week?

he's a keeper and you have known each other for 15 years :confused3 :confused3

Uh Huh... :goodvibes He is... We were friends long before we were... :lovestruc and he just is... :goodvibes

I like the cooking of ANYBODY who will cook for me.

Oh yeah... Holly... HE cooks too... actually he used to be a chef... loves to open the fridge and see what he can make out of it... ;)

Thanks Deb & Michelle for the Broadway ticket leads. I've been researching the shows and reported to my sis tonight. Since she's paying, ;) she'll decide what we see. I'll be happy no matter what! I've always wanted to go to a play on Broadway!:cloud9:

Oh you will LOVE it... and you MUST go have a sandwich at the Stage or Carnegie Deli... 1 sandwich will feed a family of 6...:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Marilyn & Deb,
Have a great time on your vacations/holidays!:goodvibes

I miss them already... did they leave yet???

Why dont you just come out and say it.....We BORE you!!!!

Thank you Bubba... I love you too..:lovestruc

That is hilarious, I'd never heard of it, but Lancaster is a long way away from us.

If you haven't seen Wicked, go see it. It is the best show I've ever seen. I'm hoping we get Mary Poppins in the next 5 years:scared1:

MP is going on the road with the original Broadway leads!!!! I'm sure it will hit LA!!! The set alone is AMAZING!!! But like I said before... don't sit too far back in the orchestra or you will miss alot!!! :)

Well, my replacement just left from her interview and a test doing a dictation tape. She starts tomorrow morning. :sad1:

FROM THREAD 5:

One year, when I was teaching, I decided to learn calligraphy. I took a class from a woman in her home with a few other people. I had this huge "Aha" moment as I was struggling to learn to write the letters and needed to have my alphabet in front of me all the time to refer to--this was exactly the way it felt to be a Kindergardener or first grader learning to write! It was a very powerful experience for me--and I'd already been teaching 20 years at that time and had taught writing to dozens of kids. At that moment I realized just how hard it is. My hand would cramp up, I'd leave letters out of words, words out of sentences, and it was SO laborious! I've never forgotten it!

:cool1: What great insight!

 Can we require that of all primary teachers who don't GET IT now? :teacher:

And the teachers of older kids can be required to take a course in their "I-cannot-stand-that-topic" course like the English teachers are required to take Calculus and the Math teachers :teacher: are required to take Shakespearean plays and the History teachers are required to take Physical Education :cheer2: :yay: and the Phys Ed teachers are required to SIT STILL IN THEIR SEATS AND take Latin .....etc...... :woohoo:

I understand this and have since the beginning, and actually have tried explaining it to his dad for quite some time because Tyler wanted to sign up for soccer a while back and his dad didn't want him to because everything was on a Saturday and he didn't want to have to get up early and do stuff.

My only problem is that we should discuss it before one of us signs him up for something and the scout thing didn't work that way because of them telling me the wrong day they thought his meetings would be, so I feel bad about forcing it on his dad. But oh well, not my fault, I never intended it that way, so he'll just have to deal with it. :thumbsup2

ah ha, sorry to rag at you  fyi, our scuts have changed their meeting days very year.

Ian - LOVED your arguments about who is a Princess and who isn't - had me laughing out loud!

Hope everything is good now w/ the new internet thing.

Found out that I'm Ariel (Nan - I knew we were sisters :lmao: ).

maybe we dye our head together and don't know it. I know it leeches out when we are on our tile loungers :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

No, you weren't ragging, just offering a perspective that I might not have considered (you didn't know), for which I'm always grateful.

I would actually like it if the scout meetings change every year. That would be helpful! I get the impression his dad isn't happy about it. Everything else I email him about, he responds in major detail. But the response to my email about the scout meeting day issue was just "I'll take him on Thursdays. I'll go into more detail later." And I never heard anything else about it. :headache: Maybe if I email him the picture of Tyler wearing the scout stuff that will help. :thumbsup2
