Did anybody else hear about the musical road? I just heard about it on the news. Funny!

OK, I ate a few pieces of swiss cheese, then 2 Fruit Loops straws, now I'm headed to bed before I scrounge up more junk to eat. Exhausted tonight. Mondays are so busy for us. Tuesday is our free day after work (well, at least this is our last one before the new job starts, then it will be 2 karate classes after work that day).

Goodnight all!

Oooooh! It was 80F today and supposed to stay 80 all week with NO RAIN in sight! :goodvibes BEAUTIFUL! Maybe we'll play in the backyard tomorrow after work/school :thumbsup2 Since we found 2 GIANT toads in our garage, Tyler wants to look for more and I'm sure there are lots in the backyard since I haven't mowed back there in a long time.

OK, really leaving now. ;)

This is definitely not cute like the Spartan one was the other day, but this is Tyler yesterday trying on his scout stuff for the first time:

We're still waiting for meetings to start but I think it's going to start this week. He's very sad to hear they're on Thursday nights when he's at his dad's. I hated seeing his face when I told him after I found out. I was told they'd either be Monday or Tuesday, but since nothing was organized (and still isn't yet), the mom who volunteered to be the den leader can only do Thursdays. So I assured Tyler that if his dad can't (or is "too tired" to take him) either Sheilah or I will get him there. He said, "But it won't be the same if they take me because I wanted YOU to take me." I assured him I'd explain the whole thing to his dad and ask his dad if he minds if I show up too.

I really hate the idea of intruding on their days together. After all, I wouldn't be too happy if his dad told me one day, "Oh, by the way, I signed Tyler up for swimming classes and they're on Monday nights, so YOU have to take him." I emailed him a couple days ago about the situation and told him I never meant to impose, etc. :guilty:

Gaylean used to be ONE of my BFF's and USED to call me EVERY day........

now she's just a.....

CHEATER , CHEATER , PUMPKIN EATER !!!!!

You are crazy, this is WAY better than a sports team. Just wait a few months you'll get the whole scout thing in your blood and feel me on this :thumbsup2

Also, Holly as Tyler gets older more and more things will come into his life and both you and dad need to realize that's just how it goes. One of my girl scouts sees dad on Friday nights for dinner and a movie, but now that they are getting older they have events that happen on Friday night. Her dad is just going to have to get over it and change his night to accomodate what his daughter needs in her life. This really is no different that what we face in a married house hold. Kids events don't happen to make our life harder or easier, but we as parents can choose to embrace our childrens events and passions and all that comes with them or not. Says the weary mom that goes to wayyyyyyy to many go-kart races (that she really doesn't enjoy, because they have only outhouses for bathrooms :sad2:

Thanks, I scrapbook/do swap stuff to relax. Its also time my mom and I spend together just the 2 of us.

I have good news:
This past weekend My DM, sister and I went to Chattanooga to go to a scrap convention and the mall. This was my moms first time leaving my stepdad since he couldn't walk. I asked Matt if he would stay with him for the day and he did. We had a fun time, I spent lots of $$$, the mall was worse than our local mall though but still fun. While we were gone Matt took my stepdad to the bookstore, target, and hardees. He took his wheelchair and they had a good time too. My poor stepdad said it was the first day no one had yelled at him for trying walking. (it scares mom when he tries to walk). We are thinking of doing this once a month now (girls day out). So all in all it worked out fine. My mom is doing better since she went to the Dr. for depression medicine. He said it was normal for people who take care of a disabled spouse to become depressed. She is starting to relax a little but she has always been uptight.

Hey, Jill, that sounds like a win-win-win situation for everyone! :thumbsup2

I made baked chicken and risotto. I tried making pulled pork in the crock pot and I guess I used a BBQ sauce that was too spicy because it was just too much. My sis made it once with beef and she made the sauce homemade and it was a lot better.

I've made crock pot BBQ by putting in raw stew meat and pouring BBQ sauce over it and letting it cook overnight, then smashing it with a potato masher. That's it! And it's really good!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Actually, I was happy to read that. I hate fake cheese.:headache:

Wilson just came in and said "mom I don't like it...I LOVE IT"

I really don't cook often at all. Used to when it was just us 2. It was nice to make a dinner everyone was happy with.

How cute!:lovestruc

I'm sure you CA folks heard about it, but for anybody who hasn't: http://blog.wired.com/cars/2008/09/the-road-as-roc.html

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Dang! I was all excited to drive my Civic over that road the next time I was in CA--then I read the part about it being paved over!:sad1:

Cute picture! And it looks like your kitchen vinyl is the same as mine! Is yours about 10 years old, too?;)

Thanks Deb & Michelle for the Broadway ticket leads. I've been researching the shows and reported to my sis tonight. Since she's paying, ;) she'll decide what we see. I'll be happy no matter what! I've always wanted to go to a play on Broadway!:cloud9:

So share what it was you cheated with. I may want to try it.

Have your hours at work increased yet?

It was just in one of those boxes that have everything you need. Mine was a Fresh and Easy brand but if you don't have those yet you can probably buy them at any grocery. Mine was.....surprise....three cheese :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: It didn't taste like cheese though but it was good. It still took like 30 minutes so you have to have a little time.

Not yet. I think it will change after I take the 3 day class I need. There are a few positions I can't do until that class. I'm happy to be easing into it. Plus for some reason I am more motivated for the rest of the day after I work those few hours :goodvibes

You guys are talking too much and I can't keep up. Good night.
