Well, because of the movie I watched, I don't have time to go grocery shopping before picking up Tyler, so I guess I'll hope he's not too hungry to wait to eat until after we go to the store. Or I guess if he's starving, we could run home for dinner first and then go back out to the store. Once we're home, he doesn't like to go back out, but I can find a way to lure him out. Maybe I'll tell him we need to get groceries, but after we get home we can play in the backyard a bit later than normal. :thumbsup2

OK, off to drop my movie off on my way to get Tyler. I'll be back after he's in bed! :goodvibes

We got homework in kinder but some people I know that live in other states say there kids started in 1st.

The kids play outside but I have to be there for the most part. I do let them go in the back but I have to check on them a lot. We were the last free generation around here anyway. There is too many bad people :sad1: or at least it is advertised more.

Sorry I went MIA for a bit.....John just got home from shopping.

People are definitely different today and for the worse. We used to be outside everyday all year long. If your parent wasn't there, your friends parents could dicipline you. The whole neighborhood watched what you did, could dicipline you and told your parents. You behaved.

Especially at halloween, we trick or treated all over the neighborhood on our own from about 7 years old and up. We NEVER once had anything bad in our bags. People in society have changed. It's so Much More dangerous for kids today.
:guilty:

We try and keep them busy. I have multiple play dates every week. That is on top of Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, soccer and cheer or dance (who knows which she'll chose this time). So basically the playing is still going on, the mothers and farther just have to organize it a little more. The kids don't come to the door and ask to play, the parents set it up.

I think it takes a lot more work to be a parent today. A good parent. You have to keep the kids safe and balanced. We were more on our own.

Oh, we are doing now! This morning was lovely( I know!!!) so we went out to town for a coffee and a shop, and then we come home and sat and chatted over lunch in the conservatory which was lovely and warm. John has been finishing off the roof work outside and I have been pottering and getting tea ready as well as watching some of the Paralympics opening ceremony.

Now I can smell the chicken cooking and it has had a major downpour outside, so we are watching Shrek and feeling snug and safe!

You have a conservatory????? OHHHHH.... How lovely.... :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

I have a deck....

Do you get fines for overdue books?

Enjoy your outing.

I owe the Glenville library cash... I just think of it as a donation towards another book... :lmao: (I may have funded my own library by now... ;) )

A large chicken breast joint, baked potato, carrots and cauliflower. Then chcoalate fudge cake!!!:rolleyes1

How about you?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh MARILYN!!! You were doing SO healthy... did you save me any cake???

Good morning ladies, Well, I've been cooking and prepping for the party for 3 hours and am just about ready! Our van is stuffed to the gills with supplies. We'll go over to the venue about 3:00. Keep your fingers crossed. My guess is they are having a fun breakfast and over to the parks this morning. I probably won't get to post pics until tomorrow morning because we will go back to the DL to see the fireworks after the party. Talk to you tomorrow.

Have fun Kelly!!!

Thanks Kelly for keeping us informed.....it's Almost like we're there. At least it's the next best thing.

Wow you and Jonathan have really been working hard on getting things ready for the big party today. I hope you'll be able to sit back and enjoy the festivities once you get there. You're really a trooper for putting all of this together. Take some pictures of the cake topper and some of their hands showing off their wedding rings......please. Hope you have a fun time and hug everyone there for me and John and tell them we're sending our love. Looking forward to seeing all the pictures tomorrow.
:yay:

Sounds like they saw some of the worse present day behaviour on the EB Repo.

If I'm late, I'm blaming it on you guys :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OH NO Mr. Bill.......

Anyone see those commercials on TV lately? They took it right from Saturday Night Live from many years ago. I loved Mr. Bill. I love the commercials.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Are the rings cool? I don't remember him talking about that.

I don't know.....that's why I want to see them. He didn't talk about them, but I saw them in one picture that Kelly took and they looked interesting, but you couldn't see them good, so I'm not sure. Take a close up!
:upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

I just got off the telephone with DGS Tom from FL. Some of you may remember the saga that ensued after our Halloween 07 cruise together. While I was reading the posts about the kids on the EB PC, I thought about DGS's Tom and Kris running around the boat on our halloween cruise together and said yup, ours were like that too. Their parents said nothing. Me and John pitched at b...ch at them, but it didn't matter. Then we had it out with their parents after we got back. Oh what a nightmare!

We saw all of them before the PC cruise in May. They came to our hotel in Cocoa Beach. We all had a pleasant visit. It's a good thing because we're going to see them again in about 2 and a half weeks in Orlando. Hopefully this will be a nice visit too.

Well, the dust has settled, and distance has helped, so I bet you will have a great visit.:yay:

I'm with Marilyn on this one...

Yup, you're right. Too bad we still don't like the son inlaw now that we have seen his true colors. At least we only have to put up with him in short doses. I do miss Sandi and the boys though.

We have one of them in our family too... :headache:

WOW, me and my brother used to do a lot more work around the house for our 50 cents. Mom was divorced and single raising us alone. We used to vacuum and dust and clean the bathroom and kitchen every Saturday. I used to get stuck with dusting and kitchen because my brother was older and he picked vacuuming and bathroom. He also took out the trash every night and I did the kitchen every night. I also had to do the laundry for the whole family. We had a lot more chores than most kids do today.

I got $2 a week... but then I started babysitting at 11 and had my own cash...

OK, twist my arm......I guess we'll have to deal with the plane ride! Pack light and wear the same thing!

All you need is a pink shirt, a tiara and maybe some sun screen :scared1:

Pink shirt... tiara... oh... now I have to get suitcase #5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait... I have those... flashbacks too!!!

Are the rings cool? I don't remember him talking about that.

Rings I hear are Stainless Steel... Ian wanted Titanium, but they didn't come in or something... Really hard to break I hear... ;)

You have a different climate so barbies ar great.

Yes Marilyn... Mom agrees... Barbies are great!!!

Thanks now if you'd like... PM some of those people and ask them to check in!!!

I don't have time to read now but I do remember that :lmao:

I remember the big bug...:scared:

Nan has just checked in with response to cake requests...

"Sorry only for the grooms - the rest of us eat cupcakes... I'll be sending them out via carrier pidgeon".....

Sounds like they saw some of the worse present day behaviour on the EB Repo.

Oh... we just didn't get caught...

OH NO Mr. Bill.......

Anyone see those commercials on TV lately? They took it right from Saturday Night Live from many years ago. I loved Mr. Bill. I love the commercials.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I LOVE when he splats into the windshield!!!

OK I'll need the suitcase, but Mar has to carry the champagne!!!! Oh Mar.....:lmao: :lmao:

Deb... this time we order on board.... ;) ;) ;)

I think it takes a lot more work to be a parent today. A good parent. You have to keep the kids safe and balanced. We were more on our own.

I agree. I know our daughter is busy from morning till night with all that her 4 do and then the homework and reading.

I was thinking the other day. My mum used to work from home when I was little. She was a sewing machinist and made mens trousers(pants to you). she went out to work when I was 7, and I think from then on I was home in holidays on my own. I had an elder sister(4 years older), but you know? I can't remember her ever being there, though I am sure she was around. I played out, went round to friends etc.

Well, bed time here.

Feeling tired tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Goodnight Deb and Michelle, and Holly when you get back.

Wow, that really stinks. Just one more reason I want to live in our house until Tyler's grown up. Even though it's tiny, I just love our neighborhood. Of course, that could all change at some point, but for now, it's just right.

Holly, it's nice to know that there are still some places in the world where it's still the same way that it was when I was a kid. I remember sitting out on the front steps with all the neighbors every summer night. We alternated houses, brought the lounge chairs and sat and talked and drank. They had alcohol and we didn't, but we all drank. The good old days. Then the kids would catch lightening bugs. Oh what fun!
