do you really think that I can tell them my friend from the Disney cruise who's sister is a refugee from the huricane believes I should be excused that would work

I call after 5pm here, 1 hour 15 minutes to find out if I go or just call on Monday afternoon, I hope I don't have to go. The last time my mom got called she had to go to Palo Alto, which was not an easy trip for her, nor would it be for me either I still think the fact that I take care of my children ages 11 and 8 years old after school is reason enough to excuse me. I can't very well leave them home alone can I?

HI ALL! Just popping in to say hi after a not so great day. I worked 7am-6pm and still have enough work leftover to easily work all day tomorrow if they'd let me. And one of the attorneys I'm working for is going to work over the weekend, as he usually does. Monday is usually his secretary's busiest day because of the work he piles up over the weekend. So it will be that PLUS what's leftover from today (which is actually some leftover from yesterday plus most of today's work).

Then I had to get gas on the way home. That was a nightmare in itself because everybody had heard the rumors of the $2/gallon gas increase supposedly coming tomorrow, so the whole city was filling up. New reports of an hour wait at the gas pumps. Fortunately, since I worked late, I missed most of the after-work rush hour and those folks waiting in line, so my wait was only about 1/2 hour at most. Now I'm set for a week.

My head was pounding most of the day, but it seems to be subsiding, so I'm headed to the grocery store and then will eat dinner and hopefully crack open a beer or 2 if my head does truly stop pounding. Will catch up with you all later! YIPPEE!!!! I have 10 pages to read!

My sister (the OB-GYN, the one who's organized the trip) had to do a C-section so the trip has gotten delayed. I'm here at her house. I took Bobby (the dog) for a walk and we played fetch in the pool for awhile; now I'm just waiting around. Too bad I don't know how to turn on their TV or I could check out the storm on CNN.
