He is a big coward if he can't let you know what is happening.

I know and he came to my house for Brooke's party. I've never invited him before but I figured he would have to face me. He came and went outside to play poker and never spoke to me. When I did try to bring things up he wouldn't answer with anything that was useful to me. I think he thinks that it isn't a big deal to me because we have lived on Jon's income for eight years. It is a big deal because it was a dream job and I am sad. The other bad thing is that I asked him once if I could use him as a reference if I needed to get a full time job. He said "Oh no, when you can work full time, you are working for me". I would love to say that I worked for him longer than I did but after that statement I'm confused and don't know if I should ask him.

No, we just got the ears. They were passing them out to everyone who was going into the Grand Calif. from CA. We were going in to have lunch at Storytellers. It was very good, but we had to pay for it.


Got to go finish packing, I'm leaving in about 30 min. Everyone have a nice weekend!

Still waiting... Claire and Brian are in AZ... they are waiting anxiously to see what's going to happen... Paul is inland at the plant, but will go to the Airport later to stay with the rideout team at the Marriott...

All I can say is this is SO surreal for me... I was just there last week!!! I know exactly where they are standing on TV... The people from MSNBC are at the Hilton in Clear Lake and I've been to Kemah and Galveston... the ones who will be staying at Galveston (although I think they are STUPID) to do that will be staying at the Hotel at Moody Gardens - it is the highest hotel on Galveston...

The airport they are using to evacuate people with the coast guard is Ellington Field which is near my sister's house also... they will pull out of there shortly... if you see one of the big white buildings in the background... that is one of the NASA facilities.

The water has ALREADY risen 6 feet at Galveston and 3-4 feet at Clear Lake. (my sister lives in Clear Lake...) and the storm is still about 12 hours away from landfall...

Mom and I are watching everything we can find on TV... we know it's going to be bad... We're also making plans for having them come and stay with us... Brian will need to get into a school (his high school is about a mile or two off of Clear Lake...) It may be tight for a bit and it will drive my sister nuts...but if we have to... we can do it.

I just think that we don't have any idea what this is going to be like in the end... I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE ARE INSISTING ON RIDING OUT THIS STORM!!!

If you watch CNN... Rick Sanchez is standing not far from the bay also...he won't be there for long though... I haven't had the chance to watch FOX yet... will have to take a look... I was just so facinated that they were at places I know...

Just had leftover pizza and I have to go and clean... I have a bedroom to get ready and then I have to go and shovel out my bedroom (everything gets thrown in there when we have something happening...)

Oh and Kaylee... can't use my closet... already packed from the last time I had to move someone in... oh well.. maybe next week I can clean that out!!!

My sister got caught in the last evacuation... took her 18 hours and they didn't even get to the other side of Houston... almost ran out of gas and stupidly had no food or water with them... she really is smart... she just thought that perhaps they'd stop for lunch on the way...

So... She vowed that the next time they had to evacuate that she was just driving to the airport and getting on the next available flight and getting out of there. & that's what she did.... She already had a ticket to Phoenix because of a conference she was supposed to go to this weekend... she took Brian with her...
