And some of the stuff is just too out there I think. I always wonder why they theme a room so heavily for a 7-8 yr old that it will cost a ton in a year or 2 to change the design when they no longer like it.

I agree. But we did Ethan's in Star Wars because Jon still had Star Wars sheets when we moved out :ssst:

I like themed rooms, but I like them easily changeable. We did Shaelyn's room all Disney princesses and Tinkerbell when we moved her out of the baby room 3 years ago. Most of it is removable peel and stick so it can be changed fairly easily, plus she's a princessy girl so we figured it would be good for at least 5 years. Not sure what to do with Kaleigh. She's already 3-1/2 and still sleeping in toddler bed. Soon she'll be too long for her bed, and then we have to figure out what to do.:confused3

Yup, he does, but I'd rather pay those places you go and they do everything for you. Like his karate party he had this past June. $150 and it's for unlimited kids, 2 hours long, at the karate school, they decorate for us, they provide the cake and pizza and juice boxes, they run the games with the kids, they pass out the food and cut the cake and also handle the present unwrapping, and they clean up afterwards. It's a small price to pay for being able to just show up and take pictures and enjoy!

We've done those ones too but my friends like to come over and we haven't had a party since before the cruise :scared1:

Racecourse sounds neat. Unfortunately I know poop - the last 2 springs the deer come right through town, eat my tulips before they bloom and poop on my lawn

Eeeeew! Yucky! BAD DEER!

HOLLY must keep chatting! I'm guaranteed at least a few posts to read when I take sanity breaks at work :lmao: :lmao: :goodvibes
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Glad to be of assistance! :rotfl:

I never heard anything about $1 coins with presidents on them. That's what's funny about our money. You never know when it will change, until you get something strange! Up until recently, our bills were always green. Then one day recently I got a $5 bill with purple numbers! I thought it was fake. You'd think somebody somewhere would warn us that money would be changing. Unless they did and I just ignored it. Sure, they can announce for a year about how tv is all changing to whatever it's changing to that you need a special box for if you don't have cable soon, but money just changes whenever. :rotfl2:

Hmmm......my last post doesn't make sense.

Maybe NOW I've had too much beer! #4 might not be a good idea! :rotfl2:

I thought your post made sense (maybe I've had too much rum/coke) I love coloured money - its so easy to tell the bills apart. Of course that's what I've always had, so I always feel like I've got play money when I have american money :lmao: :lmao:

I agree. But we did Ethan's in Star Wars because Jon still had Star Wars sheets when we moved out :ssst:

We had a StarWars towel up until last spring when it finally fell apart :lmao: :lmao: And we have tons of StarWars figures, Lego, posters, books. We collected all of it up until about 3 years ago, when we just couldn't keep up! You & Jon must come visit and see all of it!:goodvibes

Gaylean - why are you alone? Where are Jon, Brooke and Ethan? Are they coming back this evening?

My HMIL (H is horrible) took them to LA. Don't ask why, I have no idea. I aked her what time she'd be home and she said she didn't know. The last time she had them out this late she didn't even feed them. I hated when she takes them. Jon is at my DBIL house drafting his fantasy football team. I'm about to turn the music on because it's too quiet.

My niece has the peel and stick stuff too. Which is good because she gets "tired of it" (her words - a drama queen at age 6!)

It's when they do things like embed sports equipment or cut out stages into furniture and walls that I always wonder about.

I just don't get that show - I think the basic premise is great, I just can't help thinking the few times I've watched it, that if they went less extreme they could houses for 3 families instead of 1. And how do these families end up affording the taxes on these fantastic houses? Of course, I adore Ty :lovestruc I guess its just an example of why Ken says I'm too negative.
I love seeing the before and after contrast, but I agree, they usually just go way overboard. AND......I've heard many of those people end up losing their homes because they can't pay the property taxes. Very sad.

BUT....I did like a couple episodes I saw where they not only did the house, but also something for the community too. :thumbsup2

I like grocery shopping, cooking and laundry - that's it for me as a domestic goddess. I try to get Darrell to unload the dishwasher and I load it but he does all the other cleaning.

Ken is usually pretty good about doing the dishwasher, but lately it needs to be run when he isn't here :sad1: I don't like most cooking and cleaning, but I like the clean house. I do well if I can get it reasonably clean so its easy to maintain, but once we fall behind it seems such a big job, that I just can't get motivated to tackle it. Hmmmm - kind of like my belly :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think's it time for me to call it a night!

Everyone have a good weekend!

And tell Brooke Happy Birthday!!! Is tomorrow her actual birth date?

Brooke was in a crib until she was 3 1/2 because she didn't want a big girl bed. Jon's brother was having a baby so we had to get her a big bed and she was fine.

That's the way they do it... they did it here... Amedore homes did the house and they had TONS of people volunteer for everything from food to driving busses for the people coming by... it's quite a project... and they DID get it done in a week...
They said they even need people to hand out bottles of water. It amazes me how they manage to coordinate everything and everybody to get it all done so quickly. I just want to be a part of it to see how it's all done. Well, and for the spirit of helping too, of course.....AND I hope to get a glimpse of Ty! :lovestruc

that's right up there with some of the crazy things that happen on Trading Spaces - like the crazy one where they stapled artificial flowers all over the bathroom wall :scared1: how can you possibly keep that clean and sanitary

I try to use mostly paper plates when Darrell is gone so I won't have to run it more than once.

I'd settle for reasonably clean - Darrell thinks you should move all the furniture every time you vaccumm:scared1: So he gets to do it. We bought a new vaccumm about 2 years ago and I don't know how to operate it.

Did you see the one where they put hay all over the living room walls - it was hideous and a huge mess!

I would love to come up there but I'm sure there isn't much I haven't seen. Jon's mom kept all his toys and collectibles from when the original movies came out. We have all that and now everything from the new movies. It's too much. he just bought some collectible posters but he will never take them out of the tin so I'm not sure what they are for. We have a crazy friend that takes the character toys and uses them as wall paper on his walls. George Lucas is one rich man.

We never finiished in San Diego - no space - and we lived there 4 1/2 years :scared1:
That's exactly my problem. No space. No spare bedroom, no basement, just nowhere to put it all. And the garage isn't in good enough condition for storage. BUT....it helps keep me from accumulating more stuff, so that's good!

Wilson is excited too, he has been asking me everyday how long until we go and will he be out of school and so on. He is really excited to celebrate your wedding :goodvibes I think this is the first wedding that he will really "get" we have been to one other but he was too young to really understand what it meant.

So cute. Did he just start up again at school?
