90 is pretty hot inside. How hot is it outside? We are having great weather. 93 during the day and breezy at night so you can open the windows, even though our air is still on right now but that's because we are lazy!

Its cooling off outside now, but it was up to 33C today - just looked that up and its only 92F. The windows were closed while we were all out today, so its gets as warm inside because we get lots of sun on our house.

I've got to get off the computer and get some sleep. Good night Gaylean and good morning to everybody that'll start coming on soon :)

No one ever said that genetics were fair.

If it's any consolation, I never hold doors open for women, nor do I expect them to take notes in meeting. Equal opportunity.

A funny thing did happen this week. One of our underwriters, a young woman wore what I guess was an extremely short skirt.

By the late afternoon the whole office was buzzing, I however was oblivious.

I was in a meeting room with my boss, when this young lady walked by. My boss commented on the inappropriate shortness of the dress.

I said, without even trying to be funny, "I suppose it is short and provocative. I guess you're right. I hadn't really noticed."

To which my boss replied, "Gee, I wonder why?"

I'm old enough to enjoy a man holding a door open for me. Usually they are of a similar age to me and therefore from the generation that was always used to doing so!! When all the young men hold the door open for me then I will know I am REALLY old!!!:rotfl2:

Actually I seem to hold more doors open for people if I can, than I have held open for me. Not everyone says thank you however!

Whilst I agree with you about the provocative statement on the young lady's dress, I am sure she herself would say she was only dressing for herself!!!:lmao: Yes, right!!!:rolleyes1

Ian, what was the name of the church we went to on the Puerto Vallarta tour? I'm finally putting captions on my pictures so I can share with family and friends. I can't remember the name and I've lost my journal from the cruise where I wrote all the info.

You have friends and family who WANT to see your pictures? Lucky you.

with everything thats been happening, i've begun writing out my trip report... hope to have it done by the time school starts next week but it might be later.

in the mean time I've also been working on my site and trying to move things around and enhance it to make it more pleasent to the eye.

http://www.figmentsmedia.net/Main
it's also in the disney weblink awards... http://www.disneylinkswebawards.com/wwwfigmentsmedianet.php

now back to work on this trip report!

Robert, that looks excellent!!! Well done.

Today at work, I was nicely reclining in my chair while sitting in the weekly plant management meeting, when I decided to lean forward to put my book down and the chair flipped over and I landed on my butt in front of 8 other people.\! Embarassing but humourous. :lmao: Then somebody pointed out that I'm famous for doing that because I did it 2 years ago in the control room! Apparently there's not enough silly things happening that they remember me falling out of a chair 2 years ago!:lmao: :lmao:

These things always happen in front of other people don't they?:rotfl:

I'm good and Ken's sitting on the couch watching Olympics and complaining that the house is too hot!

Our house is still cold!!! At least the sun is out today but we have even more rain due tis weekend. YUK!:sad2:

I don't feel like I am old and I expect a man to hold a door open for me. I'll wait for them to do so. I know for sure that my Jon would hold a door open for you or any other women, young or old. I'm old fashion but I will stand there and wait. If I go first I will hold the door open because it is polite. I don't think it is degrading to women to hold the door open and I'm not sure it is degrading to show a little skin either. That being said, I wouldn't wear a "too" short skirt either, of course I don't have the body for it! I've also said that I don't think it is horrible to let a man take care of you financially and a women take care of a man domestically! I also know some men that are GREAT stay-at-home dads, one being our PTA president, and that is wonderful to me. I would hope that man treats his women like a lady, even though she makes the money. This is just my opinion and I hope no one is mad about it!

We don't get mad on this thread!!!:lmao: I think you have great views on the subject anyway.:)

Lovely out today, but i am sitting here doing this, and watching cycling at the Olympics. We're against you US at the mo. Oh, we won!;) :cool1:

Good morning all. Thanks for all of the kind birthday wishes.

It's Friday! Unfortunately, not much of a weekend ahead ... tomorrow, from noon to 6PM I am in a WW training class. The second of the 2 mandatory training classes I have to go to. Good thing is that it will be behind me. Bad thing is that I don't get much of a Saturday, and then I lead meetings on Sunday morning.

Well, off to let the dogs out and get ready to catch the bus in 25 minutes.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN!!!!!!

Well, I don't think they really want to see the pictures, but I'm forcing them upon them anyway! :rotfl2:

It's been cold here too Marilyn. I haven't used the air conditioning since early July, I think. I'm pretty sure I've only needed to use it for a total of 2 weeks this summer (and not consecutive days either, just a couple days here and there).

I think you said it very well.
A friend told me recently that a skort she bought for her granddaughter was vetoed by her son-in-law.

He said it could get the imagination of some guys going and they would label her as loose and/or treat her that way.

He's a guy, works with young guys so he should know.

Clothes with a little more fabric are cute.

I think I will remember what he said when taking a granddaughter shopping.

That is interesting hearing that from a guy who works with young guys as I always thought skorts were quite decent and looked quite nice.

OOOOOPPPPSSSSS, I knew there was something I meant to say yesterday... Happy Belated Birthday Ian!!!!

Was it Michelle's B'day too?

.
I wish I had taken the single serving packets of Gatorade or something with electrolytes to balance what I lost by sweating.

I hope they have a good time. We always do, but on an excursion in 2002 we met some people who said Disney was boring as they longingly eyed the Carnival ship also in port. :confused3

Jan :earsgirl:

That's just sad, they must have missed the daily navigator where there are just a few things to do.

its only 90 in the house and its cooling off quickly - I think its just lovely :)

EEEEKKKK, all my fruit, veggies and bread just spoils when it that hot and chocolate melts. I hate that - it is such a waste of money.

Jan, Man, Indiana pumps out quite a few athletes don't they?

Marilyn, I keep thinking about you with all the British athlete.

Shannon and Ken, every time someone from Canada steps up I look for which provence they are from.

It was really cool when the parade of nations came in and we saw all the places that our cabin stewards, servers, friends and places we'd cruised.

Holly (and all the other parents out there interested), You may want to do what we're doing with Zoe. We put up 6 laminated maps: a map of the world and 5 continents, everytime we watch an event or someone wins or a country we recognize from the DCL trips we mark a letter on the country. Zoe finds the country and marks it with a special pen. Like A for Archery, C for Calvin our room host. It's really helping her memorize the continents, flags, languages and countries. And of course, if there is a disney character involved we have to mark that too. Mulan has been coming up a lot this week. She' better at geography than most of my 5th graders in my class at this point. You don't have to watch the Olympics to do it, just talk about the athletes goals and that they got there and got a medal. Jonathan and I have discovered quite a few countries that we've never heard of... and I teach a geography class!

Ya, what she said

Hey, that's cheating. Bubba said get your own sayings.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY IAN!!!!!!

Tell Bubba he needs to speak for himself ;)

Its not cheating - its being efficient!;)

YEAH, WHATEVER

Well, that's what she thought too. She showed him that there were shorts underneath and he still said NO.

He said the young fellows on the street or at school who see her are not thinking about the presence or absence of shorts.

They are seeing a lot of leg and imagining the rest and thinking and talking about what they would do if they could.

They do not know he has a daughter so they talk to him and around him like he is one of them.

I had not thought of that either. :scared:

Jan :earsgirl:

......That's just sad, they must have missed the daily navigator where there are just a few things to do......
I think they knew about it and either thought the children would be bored or they would so did not go.

Jan :confused3

Well I didn't think that I would make you mad. Let's see what some of the guys have to say! And there is always a few women that don't want to be treated differently :confused3 I'm still confused to what my mom and others her age were fighting for. I have a great guy though and my sister and mother say that's why I feel the way I do. Maybe it would be different if I had a bad marriage or I was a single mom.

Are you bragging? I think my electric bill was only 200.00 last month. That is really good for July.
