Afternoon everyone...

Cherie . . . what kind of a car did you get? I probably missed that.

I just ordered a new car for us last week. We currently have a Ford Freestyle, and mileage is not so great. We like the vehicle though. We have three months left on our lease, and we only have 17,000 of the 30,000 miles we are allowed. We have not been driving much lately.

I ordered a Ford Escape Hybrid - Front wheel drive. 34 mpg city, and 28 mpg highway. They told me it will be at LEAST 90 days to get it, and maybe longer. We are going to buy this one instead of leasing. Even though it costs more than the gas engine Escape, you get a $3,000 tax credit from the government for buying it.

Go back and try it again... That's my neighbors yellow truck... scan to the left (west) and look down the street... blue house... tree in front... center house... mom's car (blue) is in the driveway... should have wild life roaming down street at any minute...

I went there last time I was in DC, and totally agree with you Ian . . . however, since Sophia is only 8, and has not studied that era of history, I am reluctant to take her there. I think it would be a lot to process for an 8 year old with no knowledge of the tragedy. When I was there, it affected me for weeks to follow. It was the ONLY museum I have ever been to where there was hardly a word spoken by anyone who was touring - and when there was, it was in whispers. Extremely moving.

Your experience on your tour is exactly how it was when I toured Dachau Concentration Camp in Germany. Unbelievable. I was 16 years old and it's still a vivid memory.

We lived vicariously through your trip in May! I remember how excited we were for you all, and thinking how long 3 more months seemed. I can't believe we'll be on the Magic this time next week.

Okee dokee, time for some pictures from last night. This first one is Debbi on the left, me in the middle, and Corinna on the right. These are the only two I've kept in touch with regularly since high school, and I see Debbi quite often because she only lives just an hour from me in Waterford (north of Detroit).

Corinna never had kids and never married. She was THRILLED to find out that Kevin doesn't drink. She's having a hard time finding somebody who doesn't. She's the sweetest girl in the world, so I hope something comes of the connecton they made last night.

I have no memory of that last photo being taken because by that point, I'd had more beer than I've had in years!
