Tammy,

Thanks. Everything Sukie had done was in-network, and some of the procedures even had prior approval. They did pay a very huge chunk of it, but when we are talking about medical bills, the parts that the insurance is currently sitting on can still be a very sizable proportion, much larger than we could easily absorb.

I really wish I wasn't such a dolt and understood these things better, but I find it all so confusing.

I am overwhelmed by the endless stream of paper that seems to arrive and trying to tie it back to paid claims.

I told Sukie that we're just going to start waiting for delinquent notices to show up and then pay them. At least the dust will have settled.

I have such a hard time understanding all the paper and the multiple billers. I'm staggered by the inefficiency. I'm sure that all of this is probably a major contributor to the inflated costs.

I totally understand. It is so hard to understand. I think you are taking the right approach.

:sad1: Tammy, I often think about you and wonder how in the world you handle all of this.

Thanks Holly. I don't know. I guess like the footprints in the sand poster, I am not leaving any prints in the sand right now.

I'm sorry  I'm glad I didn't sound judgmental. I was just trying to help a friend make a hard decision, which probably seems easy to you :lmao: But it's hard when you have to make it. P.S. my house still isn't clean ;) I guess it's clean but more cluttered now that the kids are around.
No decisions are easy ones. And no, you did not sound judgmental at all. Right now, I feel like I'd love the option of not working outside the home, but that's not an option, so I don't have to make that decision. It might be a hard one for me too, you never know until you're in the other person's shoes. :thumbsup2

I have many people tell me I'm so lucky to have 3 nights a week kid-free. But they don't realize that I feel like I'm losing so much time we could be together. It's just interesting, the different perspectives everybody has depending on what their life situation is.

I'm watching Fred Claus right now. It's kind of a crappy movie. A bit boring. :guilty:

You're showing your age, because you know what decopaging is.

I used to do a lot of needlepoint, and my aunt requested a needlepoint toilet seat cover for her bathroom toilet! That was about 20 years ago, when I lived in Sterling, and I was earthmother, gardener, crafter, sewer, homecanner, and homeschooler.

I have really changed! :rolleyes1

Probably because you've got an "in" with the mouse! :lmao:

OH, yeah! I DO have one special quality!!!!! Plus I like to play video games.....haven't been to Disney Quest for a long time, maybe when Mike
Comes home at Christmas break.

Nan - if you want to either pm or email me the dates & where you'd fly out of, I can check it for you at work tomorrow.

With this sister coming, is there still room for me at Boma's? I can just come visit if there isn't room at the table.[/quote\\

We sure would like to meet any of you coming to Orlando in the next month or so.......I am working a LOT the next week and a half, but I have ALL my Saturdays off.....well, except this coming Saturday, I am going to Cracker Christmas at Fort Christmas and then playing Bunco at our friends' house. Their house is almost as good as the display at Hollywood Studio's New York street! Right here in Hunters Creek!

BUT we are available almost any other night to get together.....just pm me!

Do any of you remember Albert and Ann? They were on the Panama Canal cruise.....they will be here in Orlando the beginning of next week. They are a lot of fun!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Oh, Ian! I REALLY understand your problems with insurance! We have been dealing with this barrage of paperwork since Patrick was born!

He has Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, and he pays a mint every month! But I keep it for him because they DO pay their portion, and he can go to any dr. or specialist without prior approval or refernces.

We have been waiting for a new wheelchair for MONTHS! We told them that if the insurance was a problem, then we wouldn't even send it in, but, OF course, theysent it in anyway,so here we are,waiting.........

Oh, dear, I am talking to myself! Oh,well, all of you can read my posts tomorrow! Lucky you!

Anyway, I NEED ADVICE!!!!!

Chuck just popped his head in here, and asked me what we are going to buy Michael for Christmas! Darned if I know! I told him I plan to get this really neat set of Rubbermaid storage dishes with lids at BJ"s wholesale club. WOWEE KAZOWEE! Isn't that exciting?"

What does a parent buy for a 31 year old son who has his own apartment? We would never buy him clothes (after all what do we know?)
We can't buy him any video games.....he hardly has time for that anyway.
Also he already got himself Guitar Hero and the set of drums that goes with it.

ANYBODY got any ideas? Please?

Just a quick pop in. Got the Christmas card list - thanks Michelle!!!!

Just to remind anybody who is thinking of sending us a card, we don't actually live at the Saratoga Springs Resort!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: We are only there until next Thursday, 12th December.

Gaylean, thanks for your words, I know you know what I'm feeling

Tammy, my heart is with you and I offer all I can in the way of my ears to hear your venting. Never is it s problem to share with us here, actually I think that's what we are for ;)

I am hoping that we can hook up for a hello. I'm a bit overwhelmed with what it will be like having 19 family members together for our Xmas. We haven't done this in years, and then it's usually just at one of our homes for a night, not away for 4+ nights. We arrive 12/23 and leave for the ship on 12/27. Can we talk closer to that date on when would be good for you or shoot me a pm :woohoo: and ::yes:: I do remember Ann and Albert hope you get to see them next week too :dance3:

Good Luck!!!! Paul's mom always asks me what he wants for birthday (this friday) and it's a good thing, because his brother's bday is 2 weeks before and Paul is sooooooo not like his brother in gift ideas. This year his brother asked for dress shoes...Paul go-kart tools :rolleyes1 just in different worlds  My advice is ask him :flower3:

I just discovered a new wonderful show! Well, I don't know if it's new, but it's new to me: The Secret Millionaire. It's so inspiring and will make most of you cry. I wish to someday have the opportunity that these giving people have. I just watched 2 hours in a row and loved it! I can't wait to tell Tyler about it because I have a feeling it will inspire him to do something similar, but of course on a much smaller scale.

Is Michael in his first year at Duke Law School? If so, I think he would like a gift certificate to buy some clothes for interviews/summer position.
