I have no time to catch up. I had another class last night. Jon has been "cooking" every night and this morning Jon told Brooke that I would be home tonight and she said "Good, what are we having for dinner" :lmao: They told me I wasn't going to work this week and they called me in everyday. I don't like this sub thing. When I'm off, I have plans.

We have a Christmas party this Saturday so I am finally getting my hair done  It looks awful. I'm suppose to take a typing test but I know I'm going to fail so I don't even want to go. If I practice the same thing over and over I can make it but I doubt they're going to let me do that  Do you think it is better to try and waste the school district's money or not do it and hope they don't get mad?

Hi Gay,

First of all - congrats on passing the 4 tests :thumbsup2
The last time I had to take a typing test they gave me (I think) 10-15 minutes to practice the piece before I was tested so hopefully it'll be the same for you.

i remembered that i can access the www on my phone! yea for technology!! boy, is it flat here! lol Elaine (my friend) is getting our car and then we,re off to Cbr and epcot...;=) Hi kaylee and Angie and everyone else! I,m goin to disney world!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :yay:

Hi Angie! How's the new car treating you?

We LOVE the little Yaris! It is really fun to drive. DrHug thinks it is a sports car. :sad2: :rotfl2: Still no radio, but we have decided to stay here in OR and extra day and get one installed. No sales tax here and big taxes if we wait until we are in CA. :thumbsup2

.....While away Paul and I had a good talk about me not working. He wholeheartly is supporting the idea and I was glad to hear that. I have been feeling guilty about not helping with family income. I've been really racking my brain with what can I do that makes me able to always be with the kids when they aren't in school, but be worthwhile and financially worth the effort. It's a hard nut to crack. Funny I had a call this morning from an old client, but I didn't answer the call, just don't want to be in the hot seat for anything with work related issues anymore. Too much stress.:scared1:
.
You are so wise to discuss it and to recognize that money is not the only measure of contribution to the family.

Judicious outgo is a significant factor.

Stress level makes a difference also.

Best wishes as you set out across new waters :sail:

Jan :santa:

Holly, I do remember you talking about it last year. Now I remember that you never said that you went. I'm so glad your mom got you tickets. Tyler is going to be thrilled. Way cool!
I know, I can't wait! It looks so cool too! :goodvibes

Just got a call from Cheri - they're checked in and enjoying the room in Jamaica (lol) and getting ready to go to Epcot. Glad they got in safely & I told her to dress warmly for tonight :lmao:

Deb--has Tom arrived yet?

Nan - can you fly to Redding (or nearby)?

I ended up leaving work at 145p--I was worth nothing so what was the point. I came home and took a 2 hr nap, left message for the boys & now just sitting here checking in w/ my family :goodvibes :goodvibes :lovestruc

Jan - love the new penguin!

Glad you got a nap! I hope you feel better!!

Penguin is from a DIS-DCL friend from our 2006 cruise. Copy if you wish.

I am answering the phone at church so can DIS in between but have the penguin url saved at home so here I will use other smilies right now.

I tried to post these thoughts and hit the wrong RAZ button so think I lost it. If this is a redundant post--Sorry :sad2:

Jan

Tell them that you type just fine here... and VERY quickly... then show them your post count... ;)

Hi Angie!!! Get that radio!!! 99 bottles of beer on the wall gets tiring after a while!!!

We are under a winter advisory today. They are predicting about 3 inches of snow later today and the temperature is going to drop to about 23F.

This is a most unusual winter. It just doesn't usually get this cold this early in the year. We're having February weather in December.

I can only imagine what February will be like.

July... I've already ordered it...

Gaylean... PM me you email address again and I'll resend it... :flower3:

Here is Daniel when he dressed up as Dolly Parton in Rockin Bar D. I was asleep, but all the kids he was hanging with said they had a great time!!

danielasdolly.jpg

This totally cracked me up. I can see him doing this. LOL. All your children are beautiful, and to read how lucky you feel, tells me that there is so much love in your family.

Hi Deb, good day here, although boring with :laundy:

My cousin lives in Redding CA, which is a 5+ hour drive from us, so not something that I can do in one day. We'll play it by ear. Paul can't go of course since he is working and I really don't do well driving that far on my own. So, maybe one of my sisters will step up??? My cousin does not expect us to come, so if we do it will just be gravy for her. We are talking about trying to get her to come down here after the first of the year for a get away with the girls. Her husband is on disability, due to a stroke, so she works extra hard, one wage earned and she helps her kids with their kids.(5 of them under 6)

We did Santa pics last year just not on his bday. Every other year we have used that day as a tradition. I think we need to turn back to it. Last year was just a bit foggy for me for stuff like that.

While away Paul and I had a good talk about me not working.

I don't know where I'm at but I saw Jan comment on this so I decided to start here :confused3 All I have to say is that society makes people feel guilty about not contributing financially to the household. I know a few women that can manage everything in the house and at work and still be happy but I think it stresses most of us out. I know when I was stressed out like that, I wasn't a good wife, house cleaner, cook or any thing I needed to be. Don't feel bad, especially because it sounds like Paul agrees that you are better at home. Again, I'm not saying it is wrong for women to work. I'm just saying it is wrong for me to work full time because I don't handle all that stress well. Everyone is different and people just need to stop judging other people for the choices they make.

Hi Nan

I am so sorry to heard that sad news and i know the feeling...as so you feel numb. If you cannot make it, Maybe you should send the flowers or card that you are unable to attend the funeral. I am sure they will understand it.

And this Friday Paul's birthday woo hoo as Ian is havng work night out with his workmates :scared1: as they are paying for the meals and will get champagne and drinks free:scared1: (Wish it is for me);) ;)

I believe that USA have more better with Santa etc and beautiful decorations too than here:santa:

Send me email pm of your address....

Take care and love

Scottishwee35:hug:

The one benefit of working is the free drinks and meals they give you every now and then :lmao: I do miss that. One of the other ladies on the PTA told me she wanted to have a martini tasting party at her house while we did some work for the school. That can't be horrible, right ;)

i remembered that i can access the www on my phone! yea for technology!! boy, is it flat here! lol Elaine (my friend) is getting our car and then we,re off to Cbr and epcot...;=) Hi kaylee and Angie and everyone else! I,m goin to disney world!!!!

It kind of sounds like you are bragging :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

wear your mittens! It's going to be COLD tonight here in Orlando!

Guess what........we don't need the air conditioning anymore  It was 75 today. It is suppose to heat up again by the end of the week though.

SO THAT EXPLAINS WHY I COULDN'T GET MY FEET INTO SHOES FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF THE CRUISE... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Next time I'm bringing along a pair of flip flops with rhinestones...

That's what I wore the entire time :confused3

Hello all (and Nan).

Back from another busy day. I'm about to have dinner.

I had some bad news. The health insurance will not pay part of Sukie's bill or I should say might not. They have sent off questionnaire to the ENT and we had to fill some out as well. This is because his condition existed before he was on my insurance.

Still, they paid a very big portion of the bill, but that leaves us with A LOT to pay ourselves.

Talking about reining in our horns ... I have to think seriously about our vacation plans, or at least the cruise in September. The bill is still much higher than the cruise, but the money may just have to go towards paying part of the bill.

We'll have to wait and see what happens. I'm not griping because they still paid part of it, though surgery is so expensive that even the "left overs" are rather hefty.

To say the least I'm a bit disappointed but those are the breaks.

Now I'm trying to figure out if we can swing WDW. I have the DVC points, so I have to think about our airfare for a couple of trips and the cost of a couple of APs.

I hope everything works out and you can make all of your trips.

:scared: :scared: :scared:

Don't tell Tammy about your BBQ plans....

Ok, I am dense, I didn't get this one. :)

I want to offer my condolences to Nan and to Monica's Will and Mick, I am so sorry.

They finally got the stone for my husband's grave set up last week. I went over there on Friday and put some pretty Christmas flowers in the vases. I cried and cried. I was glad to have the stone up, I felt like it was disrespectful to not have one there. But, at the same time, it was very final. I don't know how to describe it. The holidays would be very tough if we were staying home.

Sorry to be "Debbie Downer". I try to keep up with the thread but things just heat up as I am going to bed. There are too many threads in the morning, I don't have time to read them all.

I just met Deanna, Tom's girlfriend.....OMG she is georgous. Hopefully she will let me take pics of her on Christmas. I didn't think it was a good idea to say, hi....can I take your picture because I want to post it on the boards to share with all my friends. Sure! She's very sweet and shy. I hope I get to know her better.

Life is certainly hectic with a 17 year old underfoot. He just left with Deanna and it's the first time I had five minutes to myself. Together we spent the day on the phone calling PennDot, Verizon wireless, our Progressive agent and the lawyer. Then he went upstairs and I got my proof of residency paperwork together and the school guardianship and registration papers to get him back into school tomorrow. He couldn't start today because we have to notorize it all tonight. We're going when John gets home.

I can't even imagine how much more hectic it would be if he was 7 instead of 17.....oh wait a minute, he did live with us and his mother and brother when he was 7. How quickly one forgets.
